Hello everybody! I´m new here so I´m nice to meet you.

I´m sorry if I bother someone by saying all that things in the Lucas forum, but I get confused, so please forgive me.

I was, just trying to support all Ness´ fans, so...here I go!

C´mon friends! Notjing is over just yet, so we are not sure if Ness is going to be replaced; There´s still hope!

I know that the posibilities are very low, but... who knows? Ness is very popular, more than Lucas, so, maybe, Sakurai is just trying to make us worry. It could be, that Ness would be a secret character, and that´s why the Dojo and Sakurai hasn´t have mentioned nothing about him.

Remember: As long as we can fly, we still have a chance

And, Atens is the place where democracy borns, so...let´s be happy!

We believe that the dreams can come true, right?...so we believe that Ness will be in Brawl, right?

Sakurai do things for his fans, and he can´t leave us like this, he can´t do this to the fans.

There´s still hope!

C´mon everybody, let´s express to Sakurai what we feel, and I´m sure that, if he notice, Ness and Lucas and Poo and...others will be there too

Everything you have said has been stated previously by many others.. its good to be optimistic on the situation but its best to do it in the "ness support thread", some people here will take your optimism as something bad, and will flame you.

Nope. Try again. I made this account last year. Because I use Ness in Melee. Before making assumptions you should have looked at my profile. Futhermore, everything will be leaked Jan. 24, since that's the Japanese release date.

Just b/c it isn't good doesn't mean he won't do it. He's practically stated in a journal entry that not all vets will be returning as well. Just b/c you feel that his subtle messages is a bad way of deconfirming doesn't mean that your opinion will stop him from doing it.

Sakurai did say that some characters wouldn't return, this is true. Personally though, I think he was referring to some of the clones.

And my point is slightly different. I'm saying that, in my opinion, Sakurai wouldn't subtly deconfirm anyone for the same reason that he wouldn't openly deconfirm anyone.

It seems to be largely accepted but most people that Sakurai is leaving subtle clues about Ness being cut from Brawl, because to announce so openly would make for a depressing update, which would work against the purpose of the update itself, which is to excite people about the game.
What I'm saying is that I don't think being subtle makes a difference. News of a character deconfirmation is something you wouldn't want in any update, either openly or subtly. So I wouldn't expect Sakurai to deconfirm Ness at all, except by revealing him as an alternate costume or assist trophy or something.

Do you have an explanation, if Ness still has a chance of being in Brawl (none as far as I'm concerned, at least as a playable character). Why he's getting a totally revamped moveset and Lucas has alterations of his moveset?

Mario didn't get a totally revamped moveset, Pikachu didn't get a totally revamped moveset, Link didn't get a totally revamped moveset, so what makes Ness so special that he'd get one?

Perhaps Sakurai will give Lucas a hat and a change of hair color on lucas's alt to make you feel better.

Erm... Did you even read above?

Ness is not deconfirmed, the possibility that the English site jumped the gun renders him unlikely, but the Japanese site and the English site do NOT match up. The Japanese site, which is Sakurai's actual words as opposed to a translation, does not have any implications that Ness's appearence has ended, it simply neutrally stated that he appeared in the previous smash games, consistant with Sakurai's policy of not giving concrete information till he was good and ready.

Granted, the English site didn't quite screw up, it is the best possible translation, English lacks a better one. Still, the fact that English lacks a better translation does not mean that it actually means that in English, just that certain important pieces of meaning got lost in translation.

Long story short: Ness is not deconfirmed, just unlikely.

I think you should check out the dojo... Sakurai clearly wanted us to see the differences between Ness and Lucas.. and They don't have the same moveset only similar Specials which make up less than have of a moveset.

Ness doesn't need a totally revamped moveset (I don't see where you were going with this.. and I don't know if you knew yourself...) Ness' moveset is different enough from Lucas'.

Erm, that means little, weren't you on the thread were we were discussing how the translation is flawed.

He was pointing out the differences, but if he said that the character wasn't coming back "....until now...." then it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters as to whether Ness is confirmed or deconfirmed is the fact that there is a substanative difference between that update's english and japanese site versions.
