No, at this point the better question is, why do you want two semi clones? The reason Ness was in 64 and Melee is because he was the latest Mother leading character, he wasn't replaced in Melee because Mother 3 got cancelled at the time and now that the newer game has been released and has proven to be more popular and successful than it's predecessor you still want the old one back? As I said some pages back, the only reason for Ness to return is to please the fanboys, there's no other reason.

Sonic is third party and has enough merits to be included in the game, such as being Nintendo's biggest rival, not to mention third parties get included due to popularity and to boost the game sales, again, FAILURE with your comparisons, plus, Mother fans, who know of the series outside a fighting game are happy with Lucas's inclusion, which is something idiots like you probably don't understand.

No character is wanted by everyone. If Ness made it in and Lucas didn't, people would be complaining about it. They'd just be different people.

Lucas is in because he's new, cooler than Ness (no matter how "homo" you think his hair is, it's better than Ness' ink blot), and has more backstory. All in all, he's essentially a BETTER version of Ness in just about every way as I see it.

That doesn't mean Ness is gone; it's just a valid reason to believe that Lucas may, in fact, be his replacement.

Personally, I do believe Ness has a chance. It's just a small, dimming chance. And I'm much happier with Lucas as it is so I wouldn't care if that chance was blown out.
