For people who are saying Ness would be a clone of Lucas, and want an arguement from Sakurai himself;
"They are from the same family of PK users."

Lul, yeah. So... why can't people treat Lucas and Ness like Mario and Luigi?

The update does deconfirm him, there is a chance he is still in (2 in 100).

And... you seem to be oblivious to a lot of things these days.

Because so many people were spamming the boards with threads that just said things like "Ridley rules".

Also the problem with Ness is not that he would be a clone but the statement made by Sakurai "There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now, and Lucas is very similar." Up until now implies to this point but no longer. These are Sakurai's exact words translated from Japanese. Samurai Panda who is very good with Japanese confirmed this. Those who believe Ness still has a chance please explain how this doesn't deconfirm him. And please give an actual reason instead of just saying something like "This doesn't prove anything".

Because Sakurai used until now for other things and I did not deconfirm them.

This one:

Up until now, standard combos, or button-press combos, were done primarily by tapping the attack button repeatedly.

That won’t change in Brawl, but now you can also just hold down the attack button to automatically do consecutive standard attacks.

It still remains, but there is an addition. Kinda like Lucas would be an addition if Ness remains.

Oh, that's right, and Mario can still perform the tornado move, as you've seen in the official videos.

Ok, as far as the Mario Special moves update and whatever zenigame quoted Up until now works because there is a change as in mario no longer has the mario tornado as his down b and like Zenigame stated there is an addition in his quote but where it lacks is that Lucas being an addition is not the same because unlike your quote he dose not say that ness is returning while in the quote it states that tapping the attack button won't change. Now with next the handicap the first sentence proves your point but in the next sentence he starts with but which implies the opposite of or change in what was previously stated. Because change is mentioned in all of these the phrase "Up until now" is still used in its correct way.

Yes but until now, obviously did not deconfirm Handicap... Just like up until now can not be certain if he deconfirms Ness or Not.

im not going around saying Ness is in brawl, I only speculate he could return. :cool:

This is an assumption. He stated "this won't change" in the one update because he was discussing the rapid-tap buttons. He did NOT state "this won't change" in reference to Ness because that was not a Ness confirmation, but rather a Lucas special move update. He was simply pointing out the similarities between Ness and Lucas' special moves. Read only the first sentences:

and you will see that they are very similar. Thus, since one is confirmed to be returning, there is no reason the other quote automatically does the opposite. The only difference is that, with Sakurai being unable/unwilling to confirm Ness at that time, he left out the "this won't change part"

(This is all in response to your post, I am not claiming that Ness is returning, I am only pointing out that quote does not deconfirm him)

did you even read everything:mad:. I clearly said that the phrase "up until Now" dose not mean exclusion but change for example read his next sentence in the handicap update. And so the change he implies with ness is the change of being a character in the future.

Believe me.. the way they attack those who want Ness to be in brawl.. they are clearly Anti-Ness. There are people who even say they don't want Ness in brawl because Lucas is in.
