If ANY character deserves to be semi-clone, is Luigi, and I think think he will come back with his own moveset (Luigi).
Ness is gone, admit it, you just need to see the facts clearly, Lucas is an improved version of Ness, with a cool haircut. Why give Ness a new moveset, and give his old one to Lucas? it doesnt make sence.

That was just lame in my eyes. I mained Ness on N64 Smash and I think the character deserves a little more homage then "LOL! Lucas is a Ness clone so Ness won't be in!"
Ness had different moves in Earthbound then the moves given him in Smash. He might return with his own unique moveset as mentioned a thousand times.

It is A VIDEO GAME CHARACTER.
It doesn't deserve ANYTHING.
I don't know why some of you guys get so worked up because a single character won't be in Brawl. You know you can still play Melee right? Or even Earthbound for that matter. You're putting bits of digital information ON A PEDESTAL.

Well, it's an idea, not just a character. If you wanted a character in brawl, you would stick them on the highest pedestal too. I'm not saying it is my life, I'm just saying Ness is an IDEA worth keeping.
And yes I will continue to enjoy Melee as long as I can.

I honestly don't mind much.
What I care about is Ness's moveset, which has been passed on to Lucas.
And not having played Mother 3, Lucas still looks like Ness to me (with a few variations) so yeah, I don't mind at all. Looks like they removed his yoyo moves which makes me glad (they owned in 64 and kinda sucked in Melee)
Because of Ness I played Mother 2. But I confess it wasn't THAT great of a game to me. I only really liked the music and the visuals. Maybe because of Lucas I'll somehow end up playing Mother 3.
And I'm just glad they made him stronger. Now if only... his PK Thunder would be just as powerful as Ness's in the 64 version...

Too bad for him that I will get the last laugh especially when it's clear that Ness is deconfirmed.
I will wait till Smash Dojo confirms Ness as an AT or as Lucas's pallette (if they even want to do that). Afterwards, I will be decorating this thread with as many You FAIL pics as I can find.

Really, it's a pain in the a** to see everyone throw around the word "deserve" as if these characters are living things that acted on their own at any point in time. "So-and-so deserves to be a character cause of this, that and the other!" " So-and-so 3rd party doesn't deserve to be in cause their series isn't largely housed in Nintendo!". . . really

BTW I wouldn't mind Ness being out but as an alt for Lucas but Lucas doesn't have the same
awesome standard B or smash attacks!

1.lucas has the same up B but better travel distance.
2.same PK fire, except stronger and is now a pillar of fire.
3.up B now has a stratigic use(not brute force like ness's)
4.his barrier is the exact same, probably recovers more health since it no longer protects you from behind.
I think ness is out, he was only a fillar for lucas in the past two smash brothers. lucas now fills the position he was planned to since day one.
