that would be ironic. You know, I wonder if people in other countries are freaking out over the English version.
Ya, but the German and Italian translation seemed intresting, and the Japanese translation only seemed a bit diffrent. Not that it was wrong-but a straight forward translation is hard to do. Still, one little thing hard to translate could mean lots of diffrences, thoug h there isn't any major diffrence between the two.I still have yet to see proof that the English translation is wrong.
Knowing Spanish all my life, I will fix this one. Its European Spanish, but I understand most of their differences to know what it means. No offense, its just that I guess its a little hard for people to efficiently translate things without being long-term speakers (most Spanish translations for U.S. warnings and notices out there are almost always wack, it kinda bugs me)...Read the first line...in Spanish? (I actaully translated it, [using my knowledge of Spanish and a translater] and it sounds diffrent from English)Japanese? [used a translater only; bear with me please] French? [a diffrent side of the story]
Here's the Spanish Translation of the first paragraph thingy:
Surely you will agree of Ness, a personage that appeared in previous editions of Smash Bros. Therefore well, Lucas very is seemed to him. In fact, they stem from the same family of users of PSI.
Nevertheless, their style of battle is quite different, since do not have the same movements.
*crickets chirp*I wonder if there would be something or someone that would actually support Ness.
Kinda sounds like the French one now. In fact, they sound pretty much exactly the same. Do the same person update the French AND THE SPANISH ONE=??? XD Also, I got lazy on that one, and I obviously know the Mexican Spanish. I completely forget that the Spanish version is based off Spain's Spanish, and not Latin America's Spanish. >_<Knowing Spanish all my life, I will fix this one. "Surely you will remember Ness, a character that appeared in previous editions of Smash Bros. Well good (this sounds weird but perhaps it sounds ok in Spain), Lucas is very similar to him. They even come from the same family of PSI users.
However, his style of combat is very different, now that they don't have the same moves (this makes it sound like they were in together at some time, but its probably just a mistake).
Uh...Achem:I wonder if there would be something or someone that would actually support Ness.
Are you kidding??!?
IF YOU THINK NESS WILL BE OUT, READ THIS.
Okay. Sakurai mentions Ness, and.......[majority of quote removed for space]........I am extremely confident that Ness is still in.

O and if Ness is too old, tell that to Mario, Donkey Kong, Pit, Ice Climbers, and soon Mr. Game and Watch fans, to prove you are a IDIOT!![]()
wow, yours by far is the worst reasoning I have read today to say Ness isn't deconfirmedO and if Ness is too old, tell that to Mario, Donkey Kong, Pit, Ice Climbers, and soon Mr. Game and Watch fans, to prove you are a IDIOT!![]()
I posted this a few pages back but I wasn't sure if anyone really saw it. I think it's a bit foolish and premature to assume that the phrase "until now" automatically cnacels Ness since that meaning is in no way inherent to the phrase. Also, I would expect this sort of intentional ambiguity from Sakurai since he likes to mess with peoples' minds a lot.Ok, I'm a huge Ness fan and today's update is definitely a blow. However, I still am not willing to say with certainty that Ness will not be in the game. The phrase until now does not NECESSARILY imply a change. For instance, I could say "Until now, I've been a huge Ness fan, but now I think he sucks" or I could say "Until now, I've been a huge Ness fan, and now I like him even more than ever".
Now, don't get me wrong I'm not saying Ness is in, simply that I think it's premature to say he has absolutely no chance. I really do wish Sakurai would make it definite one way or the other though.
If Dylan_Tnga says a character should return, they should return! You're 16.......
^ I agree. Where's someone who knows Japanese when you need them. >_<In my opinion, the only translation worth examining is the Japanese. English comes in an extremely close second since we are the biggest market. I highly doubt the English (of all the languages) would be incorrect.
Umm, look who I was refering to dumb a**. I was refering to someone who said Ness was "too old" of a character to be in smash-and I disproved them, owned them, and showed them for who the real idiot they are. Stop being a n00b, and check who that reference was to smart a**.wow, yours by far is the worst reasoning I have read today to say Ness isn't deconfirmed
QFT. Ness has a personality that is purely original. His moves can change, he can be cloned, but as long as he's there-it's all good. Show some love for our founding fathers of Smash Sakurai. Can't we have both=??? Sakurai, show us Ness and EarthBound fans who have a history of being beat down by Reggie, Nintendo, and whatnot some much needed love.Oh, and by the way, I am not ever going to completely give up hope of Ness being in until it is ABSOLUTELY confirmed either by Sakurai saying so or by getting the game and him not being in there. I don't care what anyone says, I have been loyal and devoted to Ness since I first received Earthbound for Christmas as a kid and I won't give up on him now. And as for all of you out there saying "Well, it's ok because you'll still have his moveset with Lucas" you're totally missing the point and obviously don't get it. Ness is not just a moveset to me.
What does that sound like to you? It reminds me of the beginning of games like Wind Waker where they talk about a past hero. Is that the same hero as the main character of WW? No. They are similar. They have similar destinies and abilities and situations. But they are not the same. Is that other guy in this game? No.There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now, and Lucas is very similar. They are from the same family of PK users.
But Lucas’s physical combat style is quite different. By which I mean, he does not have the same standard moves.
Give in what? Either not reply to you or just tell you he is not coming back.I sent an angry email to Nintendo yesterday demanding to know if Ness was returning or not. If all of us Ness supporters keep sending them they must give in!
There is no way they are adding a character in this late unless he's a clone. Unless, they delay the game again... ¬¬I sent an angry email to Nintendo yesterday demanding to know if Ness was returning or not. If all of us Ness supporters keep sending them they must give in!
Play Mother 3 and then come here and call Lucas a Ness with bleached hair and no cap.I'm a Ness user since N64, but I am FAR from caring that he changed his name, loosed the cap and bleached his hair.
Kind of like how Link was Mario before he had a growth spurt, a shave, bleached his hair, and changed his outfit.I'm a Ness user since N64, but I am FAR from caring that he changed his name, loosed the cap and bleached his hair.
I am confused by the fact that your argument makes no sense."Up until now" aside, they way he introduces Lucas's moveset makes it quite clear that Ness is a thing of the past. It wouldn't even be worth mentioning if Ness was in as well. Did Ike's moves reference Marth? Did Dedede's update reference Kirby or ICs? Did Zamus's tether update reference Link or even Samus?? No. Just use your brains and think it through.
Sakurai likes mind gamesThis is what i hate. No matter in what language they are still fussy about the whole thing. Why couldn't they just straight out just said it in a more accurate way.
Good for you, I'll stick with Sonic.Even if Ness returns (Which he won't), I'll still main Lucas, I won't play a Ness with a new moveset.
Lucas is a Ness with bleached hair and no cap.Play Mother 3 and then come here and call Lucas a Ness with bleached hair and no cap.
Aside from abilities and looks I don't know how Lucas is a Ness with bleached hair and no cap so STFU!Lucas is a Ness with bleached hair and no cap.
I wasn't talking about abilities or looks, I was talking about story unlike most people.LOL but Lucas is Ness with bleached hair and no cap. I mean besides the story which it doesn't really matter in brawl they are pretty much the same.
its too bad this is BRAWL character discussion and not MOTHER character discussionI wasn't talking about abilities or looks, I was talking about story unlike most people.
If you have taken the time to read a few pages back you would see I already came to terms with Ness's deconfirmation, so please, don't talk about things you have absolutely no idea about.its too bad this is BRAWL character discussion and not MOTHER character discussion
story wont excuse a clone
The only thing a story will do is give a description for Ness when he becomes a trophy.its too bad this is BRAWL character discussion and not MOTHER character discussion
story wont excuse a clone
