I personally think Ness should return but it's true his chances got lowered. I don't really think there's any point in arguing the only way to be sure of his removal is to wait until brawl gets release or sakurai that sais so.

It suck's that Ness as a character won't be returning but I don't see why it has to be that big a deal when Lucas is not only from the same series, but he even dresses the same. The only difference is their hair color and Lucas's lack of a hat. After his special moves were revealed how can you still be disappointed when they are all on a whole, improvements over Ness's?

If Link were "confirmed to be gone", I would be very upset, but I would not become irrational and start searching for signs of his return. You just accept it and move on. We're sorry your main was removed from the game, but exerting extreme emotions is not going to bring him back.

-Sakurai mentions Ness, and doesn't "apologize" about anything. He never says anything about Ness being out.
-He states LITERALLY that Ness's combat style is DIFFERENT than Lucas's! That's basically saying "Hey man, they're both in, and Lucas won't be a clone!"
-"This is also quite different from Ness’s."---How does that not SCREAM "NESS IS STILL IN" to you? HE SAID "NESS'S"! That's showing Ness has possession in the present tense. Meaning Ness still has a side-b move, meaning Ness still exists.
I am extremely confident that Ness is still in.

yeah but in a previous blog from Sakurai, he said that he never liked Ness and originally wanted LUcas to replace him in Melee, but since Mother 3 was delayed, Lucas never appeared

He had to make him different, Lucas main weapon is a stick, not baseball bats or yo-yos, anyway, how do you know that this attacks, even if they are different, make different damage, knockback, and stuff, and are different in everything except the look?
maybe they are not, but still, Ness has 30% of getting in, and I doubt he would make it.

All references of Ness have a "thing of the past" feel to them. Dont deny it. If he wanted to keep his inclusion status up in the air, he would have said "so far", not "until now"...
Sakurai wanted Lucas to replace Ness since Melee. People need to stop being in denial, because it will just be worse when the roster is leaked...

Normally, I would mock you for repeating some very common knowledge, but ironically, it was very much needed. There are still people wandering around saying, "What? I don't get it. Ness is gone? How do you know? Where is your proof? You guys are making stuff up. Just because Lucas' moves are similar doesn't mean Ness is out!"
garbage, you seem to like to use other statements from Sakurai in hopes of nullifying the phrase "until now". Do you know what "until" means? "Until" is an expression of termination. Sakurai explicitly mentioned "the Smash Bros." series and used past tense to say "Ness who has appeared"...
Get over it. Your confidence in Ness' return is only going to make you look like a fool unless the DOJO man is really that bad of a translator (which, I believe, SamuraiPandai stated he is not).

The sites are translated accurately. From what I know, though, the German site is a bit different, but it kinda hints Ness is out even MORE than the original blatantly does.
