screw dubs but
i am soo picky about anime.
my favorites are ghost in the shell: sac and Ouran High school host club
about the shows on adult swim, i dont like the majority of them, prolly cuz dubbed versions are always worse (except in the case of flcl, which was the first anime i ever fell in love with)
i mostly like comedies, romance comedies are good too. about action, i am picky as to whether the focus is on gore or quality of fights and/or mindgames involved
i hardly like any of the anime popular in america right now
i hate naruto and bleach and stuff
i like the oldies like trigun, cowboy bebop, dbz (who doesnt), tenchi muyo, among others
i havent watched death note, but i guess i should
i also like some random anime like case closed, big o (debatable), blue gender, and (stfu) sailor moon. most of these are just nostalgic, but they are good quality.
the things i like about most of the above are the philosophical questions they pose, the attention to detail in the animation, the quality of the voice actors and the attention payed to voice selection, depth of plot, music, the power of emotions evoked, mild to no fanservice, and the quality ******es
i feel like when directors put in too much fanservice, they are effectively whoring out their characters. I liked elf ban kakyuusei, so i watched kakyuusei 2. both series were ok, but i dismissed them from catalog of anime once i looked more into the series...lets just say, the directors sold out and mindgamed the **** out of me.
