Brinstar is a good stage since it's harder for them to grab you, and if they do, chances are they're going to be interrupted.

Is relatively good for Zelda. Just because it is worse for ICs.
In the same way, RC is relatively worse for Zelda than it is for ICs.

That said, I can't think of other Unity stage that would be good for this MU.
Probably PS1 and have more room to camp.
And that's pretty much it.

Idt I even need to go into detail about how bad this MU is.

I mean if the Olimar plays correctly your screwed if no matter what you do.
I only got to play 3 times against Nietono and that's probably the only time I've ever felt completely hopeless when playing someone.

Advantages...
Spent like 10 minutes trying to think of one but I can't.
I mean I guess we can say:
He's light?
His recovery is poor but Zelda can't capitalize on that.

Disadvantages:
Zelda can't get in or she just gets wrecked
Zelda can't stay away or she just get's camped
He kills at like 80-90%
His pivot grabs > pretty much any attempt to approach.
Zelda can't get yellow Pikmin off easily unless she uses a non magic attack.
Nayru's love is too slow to do any good.
Din's Fire is too slow to do any good.

CP:
I don't think anything really matters tbh

NL gave me a small trick at Apex for Olimar.

When he throws Pikmin (and has a full 6), if you Nair at the right time, the pikmin will go flying away. The trick is that the pikmin does not die so if he goes to pluck for replacement, he is stalled because that Naired pikmin didn't die. MU is still miserable but it is a neat trick.

Will this stop all of the Pikmin that follow afterwards lol?

I mean it sounds like she can stop 1 pikmin then just get hit by all of the rest, I don't see how that's too helpful.

I feel like it will take some more experimentation to find out what Nair can and cannot do against pikmin in this MU. It could be huge or as you said, it could be minor.

Why?

Yes, it's generally difficult to get a hit in on a good Olimar, but if we did end up knocking him off the stage, why can't we capitalise on this?

Also Whistle is obnoxious. :(

And we can't kill yellow pikmin.

Edit:

Oh, we can reflect Pikmin throw btw. I use it occasionally and it usually works.

Nayru's gets rid of Pikmin on her body too since there're hitboxes everywhere on her.

Fair enough.

btw guys, don't be scared to edgehog Olimar. Just hold up on the ledge when he up B's and you won't get stage spiked. ;)

We love all Zelda players... so welcome!

I'd say it's -4. I'll update this eventually!

worst MU, and Nair sends Yellow Pikmin flying.

-4 isn't enough, but there's no lower number

:olimar: Olimar -4.1 (Close to Unwinnable)
[COLLAPSE="Summary"]
Advantages
-Olimar has a below-average recovery
-Zelda's Down Smash can give Olimar trouble
-Lightweight and does early from Zelda's attacks

Disadvantages
-Zelda is forced to approach but has no approach options
-Purple Up Smash kills Zelda at 80%-90%
-Very powerful moves, but lack priority which Zelda can not take advantage of
-Olimar's grab options prevent Zelda from approaching successfully
-Yellow Pikmin are immune to all of Zelda's magical attacks
-Zelda's special attacks are slow and are easily punished

Things to Keep in Mind
-When Pikmin are attached to you or about to land on you, do a quick Neutral Air to shake them off
-Get White Pikmin off you immediately, otherwise they are relatively harmless
-Yellow Pikmin are immune to Zelda's magical attacks minus Din's Fire. They have broken hitboxes so be careful.
-Purple Pikmin can't cling to Zelda but do knockback. Watch out for their powerful Smash attacks that can kill Zelda as early as 80%. If it's safe, kill the Purples immediately.
-Blue Pikmin are slightly less powerful than the Purple. Overall, very powerful.
-At the ledge, Olimar loves to shark an Up Air from under the stage. Be careful of this. Yellow Pikmin have extremely large hitboxes!
-Try to keep your Down Smash fresh, as it's possibly one of Zelda's only useful options against Olimar.
-Olimar's Whistle grants him a temporary Super Armour effect.
-OLIMAR CAN GRAB YOU WHILE YOU HANG ON THE LEDGE so be careful.
-What Pikmin Olimar plucks from the ground varies depending on the stage.
-When Olimar needs his Pikmin Chain to recover (and he doesn't have Purples to throw at you), stay on the ledge and hold up and diagonally away the stage to prevent Olimar from recovering and stage spiking you.

Stage Selection

Counterpicks
-Rainbow Cruise
-Pokemon Stadium 2
-Castle Siege

Stage Bans
-Lylat Cruise
-Yoshi's Island

[/COLLAPSE]

Bleh I have no idea what to write for Olimar. Sorry guys, but Pikachu's up next (tier list order). inb4Fujincomplainsaboutstages

Looks great so far, though I just want to add that yellow pikmin are not immune to all her attacks. You should add 'immune to all her electric attacks except nair' because her nair can get rid of them. I'm also curious why is PS2 a good counterpick against Olimar for Zelda?

Noted.

Unfortunately, PS2 is a good counterpick because Google said so :( :(

Lol! I have no idea what's a good counterpick against Olimar :( I usually prefer Final Destination... but Olimar gets more Blue/Purple Pikmin there...

How's this: "Yellow Pikmin are immune to damage from all of Zelda's electric attacks, but they are not immune to the knockback."

Well I feel like Frigate would be a better counterpick for her than PS2 quite honestly. The first part of the stage has a right side that lacks an edge for Olimar to recover in. Yes, good Olimar players will focus on staying on the left side of the stage, but the option is still there. Frigate is not one of Zelda's best stages, but it's certainly not Olimar's either.

Hmm and I'd go with something like, 'Yellow pikmin makes Zelda have a harder time getting rid of them with all her electrical attacks except Nair. Nair is in fact, one of her most viable ways of getting rid of pikmin because it's not a laggy move, and staling it is not an issue.'

I just feel like it's important to stress how important Zelda's Nair is in this MU.

Okay I'll add that in :)

I heard never to CP Olimar there because Frigate is Purple city but I'll add it anyway :(

Purple city, really? xD

Well based on my experience of taking Olimars there, I've gotten at least one gimp because of that right side there at the start - and have often gotten to last stock or 2 stocks (if I'm lucky) because of how much of a hindrance that part of the stage can be for him. And purples kill me nice and early regardless of where I go haha

Haha! If you play on a dark stage like Final Destination, you'll likely pick up more Blue/Purple. If Olimar plucks on a Metal surface like Frigate or Lylat, he has a higher chance to get a Purple.

Olimar's bad stages? lol
Under Unity's legal stages, Rainbow Cruise is probably the only option. And that's pretty much it, matchup is stupidly bad in any other stage.
Delfino would be an option if you're good at pushing Olimar to the water (and at spiking).
