what sucks about playing against Falco is that his lasers absolutely mess with Samus's sh zair and missile game. which is why i am surprised at how good you do in these vids, I personally can't deal with laserz

More critique, less laughing at Dryn, I don't want the Samus boards to enjoy lulz, I'm more focused on improving my Samus.

n00bs, if i catch you wearing my pink suit again.... there'll be problems. =P

the falco is just not as good as the samus. Lots of samus mind games and offstage ****, but nothing from the falco. J4pu, stop jumping into ****. Shield dash IF you feel the need to approach. Other the that, spam his *** and be more patient. And stop with the reflectorphobia, no need to be afraid to use it offstage too.

First match's music is TOO good.

I'll upload a set of j4pu ****** me when I'm done studying. Also, HugS himself, in person let me use pink suit as long as I wear his melée tag.

Whatever, n00b. I'm not in the mood, and I don't care about your quote-mining and taking what I said prior to me being a moderator. I understand, you don't like me. That's fine. Whatever. Let's all move along now.

^ uh ok w/e

^^ @sexyallansamuswizard: I'm just keeping the crown warm until HugS feels like becoming best Brawl Samus in socal. Until then I'm trying to show you can still incorporate some melée tricks (up b oos, retreating dsmash, jab cancel pressure)

There's a very good reason for not using reflector off-stage, if I jump and use it at the same time, i end up in the same place I started, maybe slightly forward, and without a second jump anymore, which means I'm forced to use UpB if I'm too low, which means I die.
If i just use reflector without jumping I fall to my death.
Falco's reflector in brawl is a laggy *****, it is not very useful if they are near you or you are off-stage.
and yes, i also noticed I jump into the ****.
Also, n00b is too amazing.
too much laser/phantasm spam in friendlies is not cool, it doesn't help me practice at all and it makes the game boring as hell

It was hilarious how j4pu kept on falling for the fsmash spam you did in vid #2. I was wondering when he'd figure it out. None of this is online I assume, which if I'm right, makes that all the more hilarious.

^ lol I kept doing full dash interrupted by pivot fsmash over and over every time he tried to dash, grab, or roll, and he kept saying "STOP GETTING BEHIND ME" lolol

Keep an eye out for another set vs. xoxokev

and j4pu consistently 2stocking me

j4pu. the reflector can reflect on the way back to falco, and even a little after he's caught it. Use it early. common misconception is that falco should jump and reflect at the same time if he's off the stage. If you werent so easily gimped, and didnt jump into ****... you would win ALOT more in this matchup. seriously.

And id think to get HugS back, youd wanna show him that samus can WIN. lol, which nobodys proving. Id want wes back.

Alright, I'm going to take a guess about the video in match 1 set 2. J4 was trying to dair n00b, but Brawls buffering system kept on making him dsmash. He did win, but man, do I hate the buffering system for when stuff like that happens.

Anyway, I watched all the vids n00b, nice job in dealing with Falco. I didnt see much variation in the missles, just a bunch of homing. Against Falco that is very good, because any missle that could possibly be reflected back at you is minimized by them being weak, easy to avoid missles, and yet it still puts the pressure on him.

I liked the way you punished him for using his shield during your aerial approach. You always seemed to use uair when he did that, which I believe puts more lag on him than it does on you, and gives you the opportunity to chain to other moves.

I'm a little bit curious as to what you try to chain after your zair->dash attack. In set 1 match 3 at about 1:23, you try that, but then like the other attempts I've seen in the other videos, you don't follow up. Do you try what you do vs DDD, or what?

Im only comfortable with using Up B on stages with high platforms like battlefield or if the opponnt is at higher percents. Otherwise I just have a bad habit of jabbing??

I think jabbing isnt a bad habit unless the opponent knows that it has no hitstun. Unless it is anticipated, it usually isnt punished. But I guess an utilt or ftilt would work in between. When it comes to Samus' ground game, I think the tilts work much better than the smashes.

n00b asked me to bump this thread
(he has smashboards blocked on his computer until finals are over)
I guess he wants more critiquing from you guys, he didn't put it up here for you to critique me lol, despite me being the one who might need it more.

so, get to critiquing that samus.

I hate Yoshi's when playing Samus, the edgegame is messed up due to the waviness of the stage.

Don't get shieldgrabbed on the edge, just do your normal edgestalling fairs and you know, don't go forward with it, just get them out of your face. That gives you room for the standard edgedrop jump airdodge zair thing.

yeah

also ftilt is Samus's best move

ehh just beat him up if he decides to go offstage after you =(

Effing **** Balls.
Samus needs more Colors, I totally thought no one else would dare sue ***gy *** pink.
I was wrong :( Good matches n00b

I now see that jab cancelling can actually do something other than leave you open. but I don't think I'm nearly as good/risky as you are.

P.S. ***gy *** pink Samus is the way to go :D

EDIT: this was the most bleeped out post I've ever seen.
And what is with the seizure inducing lights??

Alright, looked at the Xoxokev vids. Diddy is fresh in my mind so I'll comment a little about that. I noticed your spacing was a little bit off on your reverse grab boost (correct me if thats the wrong name) the first few times, and so Diddy caught on after you kept on trying it, so then he just kept on dodging it.

Another thing I noticed you weren't doing enough of were your tilts. I hope my word has credibility, because I believe they are essential against characters that keep Samus from being aggressive. I know it sucks to play slow and campy, but it definitely, at least for me, helps a lot against characters like Diddy.

I'll add more comments as I refresh my memory on the Ness vids, but overall, I wish my Samus was as flashy as yours. Watching vids of an aggressive Samus inspires me to stick with Samus instead of switching mains or just quiting Brawl altogether.

Aww thanks, that last comment means a lot. If it means anything to you, the Raigoth cancel was a huge influence on me as far as incorporating and pioneering technical aspects of my playstyle into my game.
