Rainbow Dash can crash into the ground a incredible speeds, nuking everything, and she can come out just fine.

If Rainbow Dash screws up a trick, she breaks a wing.

Nah, it's probably a case of where it hit on.


Things like the barn were planned, so she could have braced herself properly. But things like the unintentional crash couldn't have been braced for as well, and in the case of the library she had the reaction to save herself, while on today's crash she might have not been able to react and hit as close to the "right way to crash land" as possible.
