I'm pretty sure that even if APEX was ran out of a dumpster then it would be better than Bronycon.
May was supposed to be a zoning character in GGXXAC, but she wound up being pretty rushdown. Boxer is also pretty aggro. Taokaka has charge elements, but she's more pixie than rushdown, anyway. Other than that, I'm at a loss. Pinkie's combos better destroy ponies, otherwise she won't really be worth playing.

Not really. She's more like a rushdown character who has command grabs. At least that's the impression I get from her. Think of her like Abel from SF4 or Necro from 3S.
Tao has one charge move (2 if you count her Astral) that nobody really uses and Hakumen and Jin have Astral charge moves, and Hakumen's is not only an Astral but also a Counter, so it's very rarely seen. BlazBlue is a bad example of charge characters being viable (or of zoners being viable for that matter).
