I think it would be hard for Brawl to get any gayer.
It has a dieing scene and everyone argues over combos like this, "If you super buffer you will have 1/20 of a second in an advantage". Just look at tourney participation. This game will be dead in another year or so. Just look at all of the new posts in the character boards.
Either way, I find the whole situation to be queer.

There is nothing left for me to discuss in this blog. All I have is my opinion on where this game is going.

I've given up on Brawl to invest time in the amazing Tekken 6 instead. I tried playing both of them in conjunction, but it interfered greatly with my Brawl play, and considering that I've already had that game for over a year and a half now, I'd say that I've gotten good mileage out of the game.

I still go to User Blogs and social threads though, since the topics rarely have much to do with Brawl gameplay.

Not really. You could invest half the time in other games with a larger community, larger pay, better balance, better hit boxes, better competative design, and a chance to actually get signed. Melee offers none of this. Melee isn't really worth the time. Wong plays SF as a job. Can we say the same for any Melee player? Is it even possible to? Does anyone other than the community pay the players of Melee to go to tournaments? Is there any organization that will pack the Melee community?

No, Melee isn't worth your time, unlike Serlin, Mr. Wizard, Seth, and many many others, playing Melee won't help you get into the video game industry.

The only reason Melee seems better is because of the larger learning curve keeping the low enders down and allowing the higher ups, more practiced vetererns to show off and play flashy, then a kid with a few months experience comes in, picks jigglypuff, plays the way you are suppose to play (gay) and in a short while starts winning national tournaments and taking out international tops.

If you don't truly enjoy Smash, its community, and don't care that it lacks these things, no, its not worth it in any way, Melee or Brawl.

Lololololololol.

Playing Smash solely for the extra income is pointless to me. Get a job, go to tournaments when you can, become a respectable player, make friends, etc.

Which is exactly what my last line was saying, that if you can look all of that and enjoy it, then its something. Personally, I enjoy Brawl more except with Hungrybox is playing Melee. Call me crazy, but I love watching Sagat dittos. I love gay ****.

Crashic, I think you got what I meant. Melee's just a game, and the game becomes more enjoyable when you can compete at a high level.

i like how two JOHNS created that book
you're getting off.

Crashic just has to rage against the machine, he just has to! :p

To the OP guy: I was in a similar situation, and I started playing Melee. Haven't looked back since. It even makes your Brawl game better.

Larn2Meree. You'll be glad you did. ;)

I love how people instantly try to recruit people quitting into Melee. Seems to be a fad going around.

Either way, You should do what is fun to you, if smash isn't fun or worth the time investment then it may not be for you.

^ lol you best be trollin' Crash!

Seriously, if all the Brawl players took a month and learned Melee, we'd probably get picked up again by MLG.
After the community screwed it for Evo 2k8 I doubt it.

How long have you been around UB? Long enough to know that this room originally had post count enabled?

Nope. MLG has been vastly taken over by FPSes and sports game as their popularity overshadows fighting games. Then we'd also have to compete for a fighting game spot along side Street Fighter 4 and Super, Tekken, Blazblue, the new Guilty Gear that's coming out, all of those being on the same consols that MLG carries. We are simply too much of a hassle for MLG. Here a lot of people will say, "But then why did they but Smashboards?" Because this is a forum for competative gaming, and one of the most popular, and they couldn't afford SRK probably, or Wiz wouldn't sell it either way. They bought this to advertise their own events and do Wifi ladders which they see as a viable alternative to in person tournaments unfortunitly. Now, the people at Evo would probably have a better chance at getting at us, but that's simply not going to happen as we are almost nearly banned from their tournaments for the protest we threw about allowing items. I asked Serlin and he said that they didn't want us back, Melee or Brawl, after what happened.

Our community acted stupid when they out cried to Evo. Granted I blame Evo for also not looking at our accepted rule-set first and imposing rules we didn't support, but to say how our community acted to the whole ordeal wasn't helping the situation.

Doesn't matter too much to me since I've hated how Evo runs their thing ever since they added TvC when it was barely out and they re-added MvC2 which is a terrible game.

Maybe just quirks I have with Evo but since they seem to be going down a road of sponsorship I've started to dislike I stopped caring for Evo.
