Actually, that may likely be his fair. Having a much bigger hitbox than what Ness had, by the looks of it XD

Ness was one of my favorite characters, but if he was really replaced by Lucas i won't complain.

According to that guy who predicted I would say that the removed franchise is Game&Watch since we haven't heard anything about him.

And the removed characters being: Marth, Young Link, Pichu, G&W, Roy, Falco. * I don't think Ness is being removed because of the text under one of Lucas' pics. ** I do think Marth and Roy will be removed because of Ike

Claus as the MOTHER representative (villain-wise) would be awesome! Maybe Porky could be the boss for the Subspace Emissary? We've already got hint of how Brawl will spoil MOTHER 3 in some form.

I know, Earthbound was one of my favorite games ever and i played it multiple times, it's just that in Smash Bros, Ness borrowed PK powers from Paula (not that i'm complainin' either, they're cool ^^)

I also demand Heavily-Armed Pokey as a boss in Brawl.

I would like to see some of Lucas' moves from Mother3 (preferably in a Youtube video) that have a chance to carry over into his Brawl moveset. If it turns out that he has all or most of Ness' Melee attacks then I'll say Lucas replaced Ness. But if not, then I'll still believe Ness is in.

Also, a list of the main characters' moves that appeared in Earthbound and not Mother3 would be nice.
Same with a list of the moves the main characters in Mother3 had that weren't available in Earthbound.

I have a request for people doing the blog updates, and I don't really know where to write it.
A few days ago I saw that most of the alternate text of the images were jokes, so I checked all the previous blog entries. But you made a mistake with this.
Of course, on Internet Explorer, putting the mouse on an image will show the alternate text, but actually, the alternate text is meant to be the text appearing if the image doesn't work. Us using Firefox and all other net browser using the appropriate use of the alternate text cannot see it by putting the mouse on the image. We have to see the image's properties.

That's why you have to put your jokes in "miscellaneous properties : title" because it is the true place where to put a comment. In HTML code, it is in the "title" part. For example :

My take on this is that Ness is making a return because the way it is written suggests that Ness is making a return. Sakurai is saying it as if those two would be able to 'pit their might' against each other, therefore meaning that Ness has a strong chance of being in the game.

That was the same way I read it.

I don't even know who Lucas is and despite the fact he looks eerily similar to Ness, he seems like a cool character.

It's sweet to see that Lucas is in the game.

Having mained Ness back in the 64 days, when he was god-tier, I'd be sad to see the little guy be truly gone. Sure, he wasn't that good in Melee but that's just sequelitis - where the first and third games are awesome and the second one is just kinda average (which gives awesome chances for Brawl, given how amazaing Melee was).

If he's not in.... I guess I can deal with it, but I'd much prefer to have both of them. That pic of Lucas doing a move mid-air is slightly different from Ness's moves (Ness uses both hands in 64 and Melee), so it's hard to say.

I think it's like other people have said. When we see Lucas's special move update, we'll have a much better idea if Ness is gone or not. Sakurai was no help today, with his mindgames. As usual, he commented in a manner that could be interpreted in either direction.

Instead of looking at this from the point of view that Ness will be removed, look at it from the rival point of view.

This quote made me feel that Ness will indeed return because wouldnt we liketo know who would win in a fight, Ness or Lucas? Lucas seems to be the Luigi of Mario, or Falco of Fox, and even the Jigglypuff of Pikachu. (When I say that I don't mean game-wise. I mean Smash Bros wise XD Ness was here first =P)) Saying that quote and taking out Ness would be stupid and makes no sense IMO.

Also, taking out one of the starters that has appeared in both Smash Bros. would be unfair. I bet Lucas is goingto have a few similiarities with Ness but I doubt he'll be a clone. He's going to have how own unique moveset that will differ from Ness.

oh and YAY!! Lucas is in ^_^ I want to play Mother 3 just to check him out in his own game :D and I've never palyed Earthbound yet...Might as well start now XD
