Nono, Roy needs Peach, Rosalina and Zelda.![]()
I see... so we got some Peach x Rosalina yuri going on... ok ok that's cool...
Dammit, if Roy gets confirmed there better be a pic with him and Marth!![]()
What monkey? ._.YOU AGAIN ??? GRRRR. AS IF THAT STUPID MONKEY WASN´T ENOUGH.
And yet Waluigi has absolutely no mainstream involvement whatsoever.
Also, following what N3ON pointed out, we don't exactly know the specifics on how many characters will be in the game. So thinking that there will only be 20 characters is rather odd at this point in time.
What monkey? ._.
Toad might be history, but at least Bowser Jr. is hanging on for the time being. But I'm sure that once we know Bowser Jr.'s fate, that'll put a close on the Super Mario series reps.Rosalina seems like a very interesting character, I'm excited to play as her! However I was really hoping for Bowser Jr. (And poor Toad) They probably won't get in now that we have 5 Mario reps, but you never know.

For all we know, only the Villager and Wii Fit Trainer may be the starting newcomers. If this is just the starting roster we're seeing then I wouldn't count out another Mario character yet. Bowser Jr. is a perfect secret character.
No. Because he is the main antagonist and second most iconic face of the Metroid series. He is only too big until they utilize extremely basic technical skills and scale him to a good size for being a playable fighter.Oh! Forgot to mention my opinion of Rosalina:
She is a very welcome newcomer to me. Looks unique, and well, Rosalina is cute heh.
But yeah. Welcome to Smash Bros Rosalina!
Because honestly, I feel that all the characters I could possibly want are in Brawl so yeah. Although I guess my most wanted character right now is Little Mac because his revival game was so friggin fun. And Mewtwo back because I miss him.
Roster looks good so far. Now if only we didn't have Toon Link...or at the very least declone him for the love of God.
And to stir up the pot: Ridley IS too friggin big. He looks awesome, but he should stay a boss. I mean, he got two boss fights, isn't that enough?!?

Those hacks look weird because he's been shrunken from an existing model. If his model was designed that way from the beginning it would look fine.I mean, sure he's iconic and I like him, but to see him shrunken down from his large beastly stature would make him less intimidating for me. When I first saw him towering over Samus in Super Metroid, it was great. A lot of the hacker attempts to scale down Ridley make him just look... Awkward at that size of approximately Bowser. Idk, I don't think his boss status should change, but that's me. If he got in, I'd be midly disappointed, but whatever.
Rosalina is unlockable in all of her playable appearances, so I'd think she'd be an unlockable character with Mega Man. Even though it makes me wonder what their thought process is behind showing characters. I mean okay, Sonic is kind of a big deal. And so is Mega Man. And it's the Year of Luigi. But?
Even after Sakurai clearly stated this game wouldn't have as many characters, veterans or even newcomers as Brawl in an interview before?I'm expecting 45-50 characters.
That didn't even cross my mind when looking at this pic until now. Thanks Croph.![]()

If Rosalina is an unlockable she's the first one I'm having trouble figuring out why was revealed when she was revealed. The others at least had tie-in promotion or were pretty damn obvious returns. Sakurai: Because why the hell not? *laughs*If Rosalina is an unlockable she's the first one I'm having trouble figuring out why was revealed when she was revealed. The others at least had tie-in promotion or were pretty damn obvious returns. Or were part of the E3 showcase.
But who knows anymore.
He said not as many newcomers. Not that there would be fewer characters. He wants to bring back as many characters as he can.Even after Sakurai clearly stated this game wouldn't have as many characters, veterans or even newcomers as Brawl in an interview before?
4 out of 14 is hardly "nearly all", but I guess?I think all of the characters shown are starter characters (except for Sonic and Megaman) Brawl got a lot of flak for having nearly all of the unlockable character be clones. I'm really hoping they learned from that mistake and made the returning clones playable from the start (Luigi and Young Link)
I'm still convinced that a lot of people who were disappointed with Brawl's roster wouldn't have been if some of the original newcomers were unlockable (Meta Knight, Olimar, and PKMN Trainer being the obvious choices)
Those hacks look weird because he's been shrunken from an existing model. If his model was designed that way from the beginning it would look fine.
Honestly, I don't understand people's bull**** reasoning for Ridley and Ridley alone being immune to size changes. Olimar is bigger than Kirby, for god's sake. Size doesn't matter even the littlest bit in Smash Bros.
I'd want Ridely to be big if he's in. He looks pretty weird when he's small, and I'm not sure how they could design a model out of a small Ridley. (That and a freakishly tall pirate dino would be a badass character)Honestly, I don't understand people's bull**** reasoning for Ridley and Ridley alone being immune to size changes. And yet Bowser looks fine shrunk down, and so does Ganon. So yeah, your reasoning is bull. Try again. It's a lot easier to increase a small character's size than downgrade a larger character's size. Chichi Robo or whatever that robot's name is would probably look more natural. By shrinking a character, they just lose that original menacing look they once had.
And I don't think my reasoning is bull, so don't start getting feisty. I just don't want Ridley playable.
If it's any consolation there's probably a pretty good chance in-game Rosalina will just be referred to as... Rosalina, if Olimar is anything to go by.Mario & FLUDD
Link & Fi
Yoshi & Eggs
Peach & Toad
This "&" naming is so lame, the only case where I would be understandable is if the ICs were names Popo & Nana, I mean who cares about the recyclable, short lived pikmin or these luma stars.
And yet Bowser and Ganondorf are both shrunken down and no one has a problem. Bowser is often much bigger than Ridley.Making something bigger ≠ making smaller.
No, Bowser is around the same size as the other characters in some of his appearances. It has be proven that he can work being shrunken down. Aside from Ridley in the NES version, he hasn't been that small since, and for good reason. Unless I see a game where he can be shrunken down and still look as good as he does at his original size, I aint buying it.And yet Bowser looks fine shrunk down, and so does Ganon. Ganondorf is not much taller than link in the two smash incarnations he's had. and Bowser's size is a pretty obvious variable factor as it is. (that and they both have giant terrifying forms for their final smashes.)And yet Bowser and Ganondorf are both shrunken down and no one has a problem. Bowser is often much bigger than Ridley.

And the main thing is, who DOES know anymore? Maybe they are just dividing things up a bit so we know several characters in the game but won't know who we do and don't have to unlock while they keep the best unlockable characters shrouded in darkness until the inevitable japanese release leak bomb.
Nah, I'm referring to the fact that Ganon in TP is twice Link's size, and barely bigger than him in Brawl, and nobody gives a crap. Yet Ridley's size is sacred for some reason. Bowser isn't any less intimidating smaller, and there's no reason to believe Ridley would be either, were he designed to be that size from the beginning. No, Bowser is around the same size as the other characters in some of his appearances. And Ganondorf again has been shown to work well while shrunken down. If you are referring to Ganon in pig form, that's just a simple 5 second move and not playable.
So yeah, either big Ridley or no Ridley at all. You try again.
Yeah, but he's much taller than Link in the Zelda games, which is my point. And Ridley's size changes in Metroid as well. He can look fine made smaller; he stays big in the games for gameplay.Ganondorf is not much taller than link in the two smash incarnations he's had. and Bowser's size is a pretty obvious variable factor as it is. Ridley looks good big, smash character or not.
I have a feeling that the days of unlockables are over. There is no way that Toon Link is not an unlockable unless everyone was unlockable from the start. But at this point you're more likely to piss six feet straight up in the air and not get wet than see Waluigi playable in this game. Waluigi's only chance now is if he gets classified as a Wario character because with Toad already down and out and Bowser Jr being trapped in the zone of "lolwhocares", it's super unlikely we'll get six Mario characters, even if 5 are probably in the starting roster from the looks of things.
It's not happening. The closest Reggie will get to being playable is if Mii's show up.Wether you hate Rosalina or not, there is a much greater threat to our roster at work:

I actually did think that Toad and Bowser Jr. could have very well gotten in this game. They weren't highly likely, but were middling candidates, so had Sakurai gone with one of them, I wouldn't have been surprised. I also felt as Rosalina had zero chance of inclusion before her very surprising confirmation. Well, turns out that Toad get disconfirmed and Rosalina is our fifth Mario character. Not really but, then again, I didn't believe any of the Mario characters had that much of chance to begin with; just a matter of personal bias on my end.
Careful with using the write-in requests. These only represent a few fans desire for inclusions and ones that Sakurai found interesting, not even close to a semi-representative sample. The only thing we know of the poll is that Sonic was the most popular character on it and that Mega Man was the second most popular guest character (after Sonic).Villager was actually a really popular choice pre-Brawl until Sakurai said that he wasn't enough of a fighter for Brawl.
He was just as frequently of a write-in request to Sakurai as Mega Man was.
