Jesus, time to break out the "take a look at this guy" cam who is absolutely losing it on Tumblr about Wonder Red not being playable. Also, they're STILL complaining about WFT and Villager. People like this should be barred from getting the game, IMO.

Getting a bit more on topic, I'm actually glad WR's disconfirmed. He's the latest exciting insignificant bandwagon character that people liked to pretend was likely because the game was decent, and just like the slew of forgotten bandwagons like Geno and Midna and Victini, will have faded away long before the next Smash is even being planned. It's nice to see the no-hopers weeded out so the actually possible choices can be discussed.

And how are you any better being smug about it?

Also, don't even compare the Wonder Red supporters to Geno or Midna supporters. Just because some random wannabe chucklehead on tumblr is whining doesn't mean we're all the same.

It's hilarious because you are literally doing exactly what every single other one of those support groups would do. "Oh don't compare us Midna supporters to Wonder Red supporters, at least Geno has a CHANCE." I'm not saying you guys shouldn't support characters like WR if you want, but at the same time I think everyone in their right mind knew Wonder Red's chances at getting in this game were slimmer than Paper Mario turned sideways. Anyone who not only doesn't acknowledge that but then also throws a hissyfit when their 5 seconds of fame character inevitably didn't make it deserves absolutely 0 sympathy in my eyes.

I'm not trying to be smug about it at all, I'm just glad that the fad characters are starting to fall off so that discussions about characters with at least halfway decent chances can take place without cries of "but what about Goomba #1007!!!!" constantly interrupting them.

I'm not whining about it. I'm disappointed, sure. But what's done is done. I knew his chances were low. I've admitted it on multiple occasions.

Actually, looking at the W101 artwork, I think Sakurai has made a new model of WR. Which is weird... they're almost identical except a few small details, like the scarf, left hand and colours.

Which is good. Remain positive. In fact, just be happy that a character you like is in the game in some form. Even if they end up being announced as NPCs. That's the best thing to do in the situation.

If you honestly though Victini or any of them had a chance then, that's just as laughable as some of Miiverse's current highlights

and that's pretty damn sad. Also, sorry to break it to you pal, but all three of those are absolutely fad characters that died out support wise as soon as the rush did. Geno never had a snowball's chance even during the height of his Brawl bull**** mafia, and the remaining Victini and Midna supporters scattered after the newest game in their series came out and latched on to new fads like Groose and Hawlucha. Also, both of them have been 100% disconfirmed at this point as well.

Victini's actually a perfect example of what I'm talking about within this game's speculation alone. His fad popped up whilst BW was still a thing, but even then he was still a sideshow to Zoroark, who actually had valid points in his favor. The tiny pocket of Victini support then scattered as soon as Genesect showed up, and now with Gen 6 and Greninja being confirmed, even Genesect's support group has all but disbanded. Come next Smash, unless the specific psycho fans stick around, Victini and Genesect's support then will be about the same as Electivire or Gardevoir's is now compared to pre-Brawl. (read: none)

That was probably the most wretched, mean-spirited and evil forum post I've ever seen, Wonder Red's the main character of a brand-new Nintendo IP. And W101 wasn't decent, it was amazing.

But...does this really deconfirm the W101...? I don't know, there's something weird about this, specially the "Fight!" part.

To those who said that Wonder Red as a character would boost sales for the IP:
Putting advertisements in games is not Nintendo's style, which I'm glad for. Pit does not fall into this category in brawl because he has an old school history, and no the NES classics in brawl are more for a look at Nintendo's past.

That said, Sakurai will not making a smash character of someone that debuted in the one and only game of its entire franchise. Unfortunately, he's COMPARABLY not a huge fan-favorite either so even that's not going to be on his side.
And with that said, this is definitely the right decision, sorry guys.

I believe this same idea applies for Bayonetta, whose probably not even getting in as a trophy....since her game is coming out later after the release of S4. Once again, Nintendo doesn't randomly advertise other games.

I really don't like the body shapes of the characters in W101... Its really gross to me. Hopefully they look more normal in their next game(doubt it). But then I guess the game would just end up being a dynasty warriors game... I never expected him to be a character. Sure theres move set potential but everyone has that.

It's really annoying when people call out entire fanbases when only a handful of people in them are acting like self entitled manchildren as if to say that the fanbase is personally responsible for the behavior of the people who can't control their emotions. So the ending of another character, we should start expecting these a bit more regularly at this point going forward. All support groups must prepare themselves for the possible end of their run.

And really, those that do not support these characters, let's avoid the whole getting high and mightly about being right about things, it's rather unbecoming.

Kamiya said that he wanted to make the next game with a "realistic" art style. So i guess you'd get your wish if there's a sequel.

Should ditch the Wonderful 101 concept and go with their old Smash Brothers concept instead. That'll sell tons more in comparison. No reason to reinvent the wheel that didn't work the first time and no-one really was keen on, y'know?
