These are all characters who have starred on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS so unless you have a 3DS and access to the eShop, I wouldn't be too surprised that you are a little unfamiliar with them. They are also brand new IP's that Nintendo got out a few years ago so they have yet to receive a lot of exposure to the general public. I guess Smash Bros will be a good start for that.So many unfamiliar names being mentioned. I had to look up this Dillon guy and what his games are about and now there's mention of a Mallo (which makes me think of the cloud guy from Super Mario RPG), Pushmo, Pullblox, Tempo and Hana Samurai? I have no idea who any of these characters are. Gonna have to do research @.@
Ah okay, thanks for clearing that up for me. I have a 3DS and access to the eShop, I just never bother to go on it. Sounds like these characters are in a similar position Olimar was in when Brawl came out. These are all characters who have starred on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS so unless you have a 3DS and access to the eShop, I wouldn't be too surprised that you are a little unfamiliar with them. Also, Pushmo and Pullblox are the respective American and European names of the first game that Mallo stars in.
It's possible but it's never happened before. We have had unlockable characters make the jump to starters but never the other way around. Ness and Captain Falcon don't really count because they began as unlockable characters to begin with. I'm just saying it doesn't seem likely from what we've seen in the past so far.I disagree. Ike, Meta-Knight and Lucas could work well as unlockable materials for the next game. Remember, this game is showing off Lucario and Toon Link to be probably starters and most people never though of them as starters, so it's reasonable to think that returning veterans are having their status change.
I think we should check all expectations out the door for this. It's possible but it's never happened before. Not as sure about Waluigi, but Lyn definitely looks a lot like her Brawl model. Though, I have to admit Dillon looks pretty good even compared to the other new Assist Trophies. Not too familiar with the character, but I'm liking his design.Dillon actually looks way better than both Waluigi and Lyn.
I think part of that has to do with his design, he is far more angular then both of them so polygons can easily work in favor with his body structure, where as the other characters are very rounded for the most part.Dillon actually looks way better than both Waluigi and Lyn.
But Chibi Robo has at least 3 games that weren't digital downloads. (1 on the GC and 2 on the DS I believe)eShop character term now destroyed, a character who could have had a very unique playstyle is an AT.
Let this be a fair warning to Chibi Robo supporters.
My thoughts exactly. He's still pretty low polygon, compared to the actual characters, but it's much harder to tell because of his design, which I have a feeling is based like that given where his games originally come from.I think part of that has to do with his design, he is far more angular then both of them so polygons can easily work in favor with his body structure, where as the other characters are very rounded for the most part.
I still would wait to see what happens. We're seeing characters as starters that would have normally never been unlockables (Toon Link especially), so it could be that they're swapping veterans (plus I'm expecting at least fifteen unlockable characters if they return). It's possible but it's never happened before. I'm not necessarily sure that Toon Link is even a starter. Being revealed early doesn't mean much at this point. I think he and Ganondorf might still be unlockable. Albeit, Sakurai could reveal all characters before the 3DS release, regardless of their starter/unlock status as is. We'll just have to see. I don't think him noting they're in the game really means much at this point.I still would wait to see what happens. And that sucks. I like unlocking characters and such. It took me forever to unlock characters like Falco and Mewtwo and such in Melee. So it was awesome to have played the game for so long, and then suddenly have a few new characters to try out, extending the game for me. ^^There might be a small number of unlockable characters this time around. The same could be said for Mario Kart 8. Alot of multiplayer and fighting games have either decreased the number of unlockable content or removed it entirely.
I want to hear if the game will be bundled with Scratch and Sniff stickers to peel off and put on the TV for when we use Wario's Waft so that we can experience its intoxicating aroma in real time.I'm hoping for "We didn't introduce ALL the Pokéball Pokémon in the Smash Bros. Direct" - new Pokéball Pokémon shown.
or..
"We didn't introduce ALL the items in the Smash Bros. Direct" - new item shown.
or...
"We didn't introduce ALL the stages in the Smash Bros. Direct" - new stage shown.
or...
"We didn't introduce ALL the playable characters in the Smash Bros. Direct" - Ridl... ahem, a veteran character shown.
...all before E3 and I shall be pleased.
I want the game to come with a real Life ZSS and Marth. And I would totally not be totally creepy on them both~I want to hear if the game will be bundled with Scratch and Sniff stickers to peel off and put on the TV for when we use Wario's Waft so that we can experience its intoxicating aroma in real time.
Dude all of that is like almost 100% for sureI'm hoping for "We didn't introduce ALL the Pokéball Pokémon in the Smash Bros. Direct" - new Pokéball Pokémon shown.

Also the Cracker Launcher.Dude all of that is like almost 100% for sure
More veterans will be there plus unlockables and newcomers and unlockable newcomers (some of them shown could be some)
Im sure theres going to be a stage for pac-man if confirmed
For pokeball we have palkia arceus and probably giratina wheres dialga? And plus other veterans of this catergory is missing
And for items the party balloon (simular to the crate and barrel from melee) and the fan are definatly still missing
There is certainly a lot more to reveal. Remember how many stages there were in Brawl? Or heck, even Melee? We don't have nearly that many yet confirmed between the two versions. We only have around 15 stages revealed for either copy, and that goes down to 14 when you consider battlefield is in both.I'm hoping for "We didn't introduce ALL the Pokéball Pokémon in the Smash Bros. Direct" - new Pokéball Pokémon shown.

I think we might see third party items, but possibly only from the actual series they represent. I don't expect, say, Assist Trophies from Darkstalkers, etc. Or a sword from Shining Force(currently owned by Sega). I only expect Sonic and MegaMan items. Bandai-Namco is directly making the game. Having some items based upon their Arcade stuff isn't odd. I don't think it necessarily will apply to any other Third Party. It should, though. I want to see a Simon Belmont Assist Trophy(if Snake is back), or, if Simon is playable, a Snake AT to make up for him being non-playable. Possibly other Konami AT's. Same with other Sega or Capcom AT's. But we'll see.Still hoping for third party items now that Namco has them.
There's lots of possibilities for Sonic and Mega Man. I'm rooting for Thunder Shield (draws in other good items, lowers damage temporarily) and one of the Items from Mega Man 2. Or Tango, because why not? You can never have enough rolling attacks.
I think it's more that a lot of people just want something new. Tidbits of information, like grappling to edges, are cool, but stuff like showing Dillon or a new character really get people riled up and talking. Those are some of my favorite times. :DPeople say that April was nothing but filler pics but, to be fair, the Direct gave us about 5 months worth of PoD info in less than an hour and, even with all the throwaway and filler pics, we were still 13 for 22 for the month when January was 11 for 20 and February was 11 for 21. As for what I want to see before E3, I'm most interested in stages at this point. I really want to see what they decide to do for the Wii U Kirby and DK stages. The DK stage will no doubt be from DKCR but there's a lot of directions they can go with it and for Kirby, I'm really hoping they go with something from Epic Yarn despite RtDL being a lot more likely.
I want to the that third one... we need a new Kirby stage in the PoTD.I'm hoping for "We didn't introduce ALL the Pokéball Pokémon in the Smash Bros. Direct" - new Pokéball Pokémon shown.

And a Donkey Kong stage and a Star Fox stage and so on. Which will be shown next, I wonder.I want to the that third one... we need a new Kirby stage in the PoTD.
haha.anything not ridley and new is good with me
I want to see a starfox stage and a Kirby stage the most. And a Donkey Kong stage and a Star Fox stage and so on. Which will be shown next, I wonder.
Indeed, as he is far from dis-confirmed. ^^ But we'll see for sure at E3. Ridley or not, Smash will be awesome.Keeping Ridley until E3 would be a smart move... and I'm not counting Ridley as dis-confirmed either.
