Miiverse Daily Pic Thread: 2nd Edition (Updated 9/19)

Meta Knight depends on two things in my opinion.

1# If Sakurai doesn't take Golden Week off.
2# If he even acknowledges the US release date.

...and to be fair, I have no idea why they'd show Meta Knight off for Triple Deluxe. He's not even in the game.

He appears as one of the balloons kirby can make.

Well, nor was Marth in Awakening, but he is mentioned. Dark Meta Knight appears in Triple Deluxe, so that could be "close enough" for Sakurai. Not like being the real thing would matter at this point, right? Notably, his Dark/Blue costume in Brawl is based upon Dark Meta Knight's artwork, with some small differences.

So seeing as he got somewhat of a costume in Brawl, seeing him actually appear again in TD gives them hope that Sakurai will find this a reasonable enough appearance to announce him. It's still straw-grasping, but I can see the logic. The other is "It's a Kirby game, that should be enough. Hey, his clone appears, sure why not?" Because again, look at Marth coming back. Why attribute him to a game he doesn't appear in, but a disguise of him does? Yeah, spoilers, I guess. Just not heavy ones. ...Then again, I think we all know what I mean. If not, well, good, cause I won't elaborate outside of spoiler text.

Ice Climbers todayyy~ or at the very least some kind of retro, pixelated Assist Trophy to celebrate NES remix would be nice. Or a neat NES remix stage featuring many NES characters!

It's kinda likely he'll stay unlockable at this point with Cpt. Falcon and Jiggz. I could be wrong, but with a summer release coming close, unveiling many characters including Ness might be kinda weird. Besides we gatta keep some unlockables, unlocking stuff is fun! I just hope Ness is as easy to unlock as he was in Brawl XD

That isn't the point, though. Sakurai still tied him to a game he never actually appeared in, just something based upon him.

Well they aren't really good secrets with the Samurai Goroh assist, Mr.Saturn item, and perfect attendance but... I suppose they could be shown, I just don't think they will be in gameplay at least. Maybe in an intro like Brawl *shrug* I sure do hope we have lots of cool and surprising secrets though.

And? That doesn't mean much except it's a potential reveal date. Just like it was before. Any game released in a series could be a potential release date for a character. Doesn't mean it'll happen. Doesn't mean it won't happen.

He did leave something good for Valentine's Day(an actual character change), and his Halloween Update was a very interesting coincidence since he left an alternate costume.(he didn't say anything about Halloween, only noting it was the release of Wii Fit U) I get what you mean now. Did we even get a full view of Battlefield before it? Because I find that a really nice image(never mind people use it for fakes...).

Indeed. I wouldn't call it a "great" update. Besides being beautiful. But I'd prefer new content, not a new angle on things. Maybe another alt, like say, Boshi for Yoshi. That would be funny, if not make people assume, we'll get a Square-Enix rep. That would be funny if we got nothing more than the costume.

Unless "some small differences" means "completely different" nowadays; I'm not up to date on what the "in" phrases are.

But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. Albeit, if he actually takes off for Golden Week I expect a very mediocre image.(namely no action) If he doesn't, we might get something decent, probably more information on the Direct.

I'm pretty sure it was more like selecting Zelda VS Sheik in Brawl? I know that you select the costume, and then it becomes a variation of him.

I don't want him as a costume unless he's explicitly different or can be different. That said, I'd rather more notable alts that don't require a moveset difference to actually give the character proper justice. So far, that hasn't ever been a problem.

That makes me think of a kindof Mario Kart scenario where maybe after you unlock all the characters, a new version of the intro that includes all characters. And I mean actual CG parts not little JPEGs at the beginning like in Brawl.

Yeah, well maybe we could get a kind of variation of the original Super Smash Bros, where silhouettes are filled in, but instead we get sort of an extra or variant scene with secret characters approaching. Like when you first play the game theres a clip of Fox flying by in an arwing with a little thumbs up or whatever, but then when you unlock all the characters the scene changes to Fox about to strike his pose when Falco flies in with his own arwing and upstages him with his own pose, and then they both get shot at by Wolf a bit. Ehh?

I personally would be fine with them not changing fire balls to pills and stuff, I mean, I accept Dr. Mario is basically just Mario putting on a doctor's coat, but really, changing fire balls to pills and having them have the same hitbox and everything shouldn't be that hard. I have faith that they can do it. I just worry they'll give him some other outfit, like... I dunno, Propeller Suit for example, cause they think it'll be more popular, but I really want Dr. Mario just cause it'll feel nostalgic to see him back from Melee.
