Hey guys, I guess this is my first time posting here? Though I've lurked a bit in the past...anyways, I've been using Doc on and off since the 3DS days and now he's quickly becoming one of my better characters, and might end up replacing ROB as my secondary. Once the vods from the tournament I went to last Sunday go up I'll post the set where I went Doc for critique, but until then here's a cute little string I got during a friendly:

Hi everyone. I am hoping to get some feedbaadvance. y Doc. I realize that I am having problems with rolling into smash attacks, but I'm wondering how the rest of my play looks.

Hey all, just wanted to see if anyone is interested in my doc vids. I've been playing for a year and actually randomly played some other docs here (a2zomg and kwamstack, both great!). Recently I played and beat slavoslav and alphamew7. They both beat me overall but not by much. The reason I'm posting is I'm lazy and don't know how to upload vids. So I'm not trying to waste my time and yours, also I don't know how. Peace out fellow Docs.

The more the merrier. Doesn't the Wii U have a feature where you can upload videos directly onto Youtube? If you any replays you want to share, please do. It won't go unnoticed.

Alphamew is the Captain Falcon player from Jtails' vids, right?

You should play more patiently. Typical FG DK. Does unsafe stuff (dash attacks, smashes) so just wait for him to mess up. This isn't as easy, since DK has the range, speed and power to keep us out. We have better attacks up close. And be wary of your height when using Tornado in the air. The higher you are, the safer you are.

Thank you for the advice. Perhaps switching to a more patient mind set will prevent me from rolling into smash attacks.

I will have a look in more detail tomorrow. However, one thing I can tell you is that you should maximize damage off of throws. Against characters like Falcon and Pikachu, this is important, since they are susceptible to certain combos. Don't always go for down throw to up air. Try d throw to up smash, up tilt, down b, dair (which does 16 damage), etc. Experiment in training mode.

Great Doc, but it could be much better. (I'm a bit of a critic)
I like how he used down b and up b. His pressure seemed pretty good, but as for everything else, he was ok. His combos could be a lot better, and he uses his recovery in a way that makes it easily punishable. He also seems to not exactly, "be aggressive", but he didn't seem to shield much. Overral I think he is best at mixing up his options. That seems to be the main thing getting him this far. If it weren't for that, he probably would've ended up several placements lower.

Well, Dr. Mario is after all a defensive character. I was just waiting for a opening then attack when necessary. That Marth was being too aggressive, so I was waiting for a read. He also had sh fair habit, which was perfect for a up-smash punish.

zero actually played doc for 2 days instead of 1, thats all i got out this video.

aka he still doesnt understand the character too well at all....

Happened to find the stream showcasing the Swiss tournament listed in the results thread. There's footage of Kudemo and Skelerex repping Doc.
