MDL0 files from Non-Brawl games

Stage affected.
Try loading him in Battlefield or Smashville.
Got the same glitches with the Naruto Model when I loaded him in Delfino Plaza.
Still the same thing, but with other textures. In Smash Ville, he looks like some kind of skin-colored ninja (Part of the face is darker) with an ink effect (Like used in Street Fighter 4).

Replied. Also, if only Chrrox was in this community, he would have owned us all, haha. He had managed to get Naruto models in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, vice-versa, along with Castlevania Judgement models. He had done this way before us, too.I wonder where is now, I even added his emails and he's never there.

Awesome Sauce Soup recipe:

1 tea spoon of Kryal
1 tea spoon of RandomTBush
1 tea spoon of Pharrox
1 tea spoon of Chrrox
1 tea spoon of Phantom Wings
1 tea spoon of BigSharkZ
1 tea spoon of Eldiran
1 tea spoon of Elite Smash Hackers
1 tea spoon of Kitty Corp: Meow Mix
1 tea spoon of Stack Smash
1 tea spoon of Das Donkey

Merge all of these with Kryptonite and heat in the micro-wave for 1337 minutes.

Note: Magic Cake, chocolate pudding or spiced young babies can be added to create an effect of craziness.

Just for lulz, I put Heatran from PokePark Wii over Metagross.
He's got no animations yet which is fine, but for some reason his texture colouring is off...
If anyone has ideas on why this is and on how to fix it, then give me a shout :)

Lol, he's a popular hacker that managed to change models from some Wii games, way before we even got a picture of a custom model. I think he started in early 2009 or something. He also mentionned he could put ANY model into Brawl, but he hasn't done anything in a few months.

Also, I renamed Zero's bones to Link's and he looks like a r-beep-ist. To fix, I'll have to change the translation of every animations, to the one from Frame 0. Ugh.

I will say that this is simply the easiest guide that i have ever read, you have all the info i would need right there and you have pictures. sadly though, i got to step 8-9 and did it once and it took about 5 minutes, and i had realized that i had about 7 more to go (trying saki) and i read ahead and then it was going to tell me to do the same thing with 68 polygons.... that aint happening (or atleast within a 24 hour block), but that's not your fault. overall though, a great and easy to do guide, if you understand how to use a hex editor (or can learn quickly), other than that, ima wait for Dant's automatic.

P.s. did you notice the link in my last post about the GoNintendo thing?

I had a feeling that there was a breakthrough with models; I felt it two days ago. I haven't been on these forums--not to mention the computer altogether--in days, though. SMASH BRO used PSYCHIC?

Anyways, this is UH-MAEZIGN, but some video tutorials would be nice. On how to hex models to become viewable in BBox, and on how to get MDL0s working in Brawl, pl3x. (I got lost on step 6...)

I need my hand held through hexing. @.@

Anyone have any suggestions on what to do so I don't have to reanimate him for everything?! Cuz if I do this will take a LONG TIME!

You gotta put the Frame 0 translation values for the other frames, and change the bone index of the bones to the original character's.

Wait, so all I need to do is make all his bones at Frame 0 be at 0 translation and change his bone indexs to Luigis?

No. Make his bone translations for his other frames (1-whatever) the same as the translations from frame zero

Alright, so obviously Shyguy from the Winter games isn't going to work. Fine then, there are a few other games that I could probably nab him from. Still though, I have no idea how to get and or open these files... Can anyone help me out here.

OR! the mii's parts are stored in seperate files, thus assembling them will be a B****!

I got NiGHTS viewable in BB, but he had to be done differently than in the OP.

-He had 2 parts to delete instead of 3, and i had to add 2 setts of FFFFFFFF instead of 3. So this may show up in other models as a heads up

INCOMING TIDAL WAVE OF REPLIES!

Hey, TBush, while playing around with the working Moonview Highway PAC you sent me, I noticed that when I try to take photos via Brawl's snapshot taker, every texture (except the LED texture, for some reason) doesn't want to show up in the pictures. Might be related to why you can't scale, rotate or translate it.
Yeah, I had noticed that, which is why I was taking pictures using my capture card instead of uploading in-game screenshots. I believe it's a conflict in the material properties, which I'll be looking into sometime soon.

so.... is it also possible to load the model animations also into brawl? Like loading zero into brawl within all his animations?
Seems like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom doesn't use CHR0 for the animations, so all animations will have to be done by hand. =/

If Godzilla: Unleashed uses mdl0, I call dibs on Godzilla. :p

No offense to anyone here, but I'm probably the biggest Godzilla fan in the Smash Workshop subforum. Which is why I think I would be the best to work with the Big G.
Godzilla: Unleashed doesn't use MDL0s. I checked it a while back. Sorry.

Also, couldn't you just texture hack the character to fix the ''buttered'' problem?
That problem's related to the material properties and the specular textures. I'll look into it.

Also, I wanted to ask, does anyone know how I can fix the texture of the Naruto model?
It only acts normal on some stages (Battlefield, Smashville), but on others it looks disordered, like metal (Final Destination) or the colors are moving (Delfino Plaza).
Hey RandomTBush, how did you fix the texture problem? (Where the texture isn't displayed at all, not where it is mapped improperly.
Seems to be a global problem, which I'll figure out how to fix. And the screenshot I took was when the materials were not screwing up. :x

Tbush I've got one question, How do you extract the brres files in TOS inside the bin cause I can see it with a hex editor but I can't do nothing more and I want to test out the others characthers.
If you can help me out be I'll be so happy.

From the file I was sent, it seems that all you have to do is delete a whole bunch of bytes from the beginning of the BIN file until it starts with "bres". Then you'd start doing the other fixes. However, ToS:DotNW seems to have another error, related to the bone structure, so it might not even work in Brawl without being fixed.

Basically, you have to re-write every single header after you insert new data. However, I can't guarantee that it'll work that way, because it didn't seem to work for Jigglypuff when I re-built its MDL0. There's something else that I need to do...

And as for the texturing problem with the FMA models, try it out in-game and see how it looks.

Hmm, I made the rim_t texture transparent, an in-game, Zero steals any nearby texture, and on certain animations, such as touching the ground, he changes into these giant glitches of textures and lags the game. Plus, his Z-Saber is always out, or is that a PSA effect? Or maybe both. o.o
Lagging the game? I never had that happen to me. Then again, I haven't tried too many different things.

Anyone want to try editing the size of fitsoandsoSHD.mdl0 to try and get collisions working?
Sounds like a plausable idea, unless the collisions are stored elsewhere. I really haven't tried modifying them yet.

I think Mario Kart Wii might be the only other choice you have there. Mario Super Sluggers has everything all in one file, and I didn't notice anything related to MDL0s in it. You don't want the Mario Strikers one, but it might not have MDL0s anyway (I haven't checked). I doubt Mario Party 8 has MDL0s, but I haven't checked that one either.

Curses... I figured as much. Well can you PM me how exactly I should be getting these files? I mean, I use a partition for Brawl, but I have no clue how to do it for other games.

Wholly molly, lots of replies, thanks for replying to me, though. I told to myself "Screw this", when attempting to give Zero Link's bones, so I'm making custom animations for EACH animation. Yes, you heard me.

In that case,maybe characters should be done as a group effort. More than one person working on one character at a time. I suggest ryu.(lol i came outta know where)

I still say that it would be much more convenient if animations could be exported from 3DS Max or something like that. I could make a bunch of animations in the time I'd finish one in BrawlBox. Of course, it doesn't help that BrawlBox's model viewer lags my computer. <_<
