I'm still down to MM everyone I said I would if I make it...but if I don't get our MM in, it's cool cause now that I have a job, I'm not strapped for cash!!!

Oh and I still think Colin or Hungry should see it...so we don't have a stacked teams bracket again, with all the best teams on the same side!!!

I don't understand your problem with Col Bol or hungry seeding (melee)???

They pretty much know how good everyone in FL is, as do I actually, and can seed very well and fairly!!!

We've all been in the community long enough and the FL melee community is pretty close knit, so we know where everyone stands!!!

I went over why I would mind them seeding melee a few posts ago.
I just really don't trust people's opinions over anything that involves skill cause it can be easily biased. You know what I mean?
Seeding singles based off of teams seems to be a good idea IMO though.

Ummm but they are making judgments based off of how people have placed in the past, which is not biased...

And pools would be fine if we had time, but we prob won't!!!

You do realize too that to seed pools involves the thing you dislike (bias)???

Since you have to make fair pools with people of varying skill levels!!!

So basically pools is an unnecessary step as Finch has said...it should only be used when you do not know where people stand (like tourneys involving out of staters)!!!

And seeding based on teams is fine, but what we're complaining about is last time TEAMS was seeded poorly!!!

Singles is usually seeded ok, but at the last FL Gaming and that Tally tourney, teams were seeded poorly!!!

Alright. I get your point.
But seeding off of teams seems to be the best suggestion anyways. Their judgment can be used on teams brackets.

i agree we should review the seeding

laijin ur post doesn't make sense, the TO could easily have bias as well so there's no reason why we shouldn't just let them check out the seeding, hell i could probably seed the melee brackets even

I don't get what the problem is about seeding based on teams.

Yo vericz, is it cool with you if I have 1-2 tv's to myself to run the F-Zero challenge/melee friendlies during the brawl events? I'm on aim today until 11:00am

As of now I don't know if I'll be attending,

I think I may be flying to Italy tomorrow. I don't know what to do, I haven't had/experienced a death in the family up until now. Justin, I'll let you know sometime before tomorrow if I'm definite on attending. Don't want to hold up an extra seat in your car and turns out I'm in Italy. I might fly back right before, but this is far more important than a tournament. But I don't know what to do or feel.

Until then, I don't know.

it says that Brawl singles will start right after the brawl doubles which will start at 11. About how long will the doubles last? My schedule is gonna be a little tight for saturday so I just need to be sure about when the singles will start? Maybe a guesstimate? Do doubles normally take an hour or 2? :ohwell:

To make seeding fair for everyone(not just me who does not know majority of your community)there should be a well defined event(or series of events) that it is established before that the results will be used to seed future tournaments here. Or pools. Or anything else that will be fair for everyone.
There is a well defined series of events: every tournament that colin and hungry have been to in the last year, because the same people that went to and placed in those will be in the bracket at this, thus they have a clear point of reference for player skill while seeding. How do you have a problem with this?

Hm, a question: If a lot of people come to this (which undoubtedly will happen), will there be pools?

The main reason that they wont do pools is because I would be the only person who makes it out!
