you know whats funny i've heard the same complaints from people when i play Super Turbo
Scrub= "all you do is shoot fireballs and uppercut"
Me="If thats all im doing then thats all you need to beat if you wanna win, mother****er"
People will do anything to win including whoring out obscure tactics, If you wanna be the best instead of
depending on techskill to give you a free win, use your head to beat those tactics. BTW thorn Rock,Paper,Scissors actually has mindgames as long as there's unequal rewards(
http://www.sirlin.net/Features/feature_rps.htm) , brawl has a fragile RPS system that if developed by the metagame it has the potential to be a figthing game. Instead of complaining about it the community should welcome this change and start using their heads in order to win not their "reaction and techskillz" wich melee players relied heavily upon . Now its time to stop being children and become Men.
Look im not trying to be mean to anybody but enougth is enough if you dont like the game dont play it
stop bicthing that there's no tech skill anymore and that scrubs can win by doing one thing. If their only doing one thing then thats all you have to do to win.
Quoted from Sirlin's Playing to Win
Doing one move or sequence over and over and over is another great way to get called cheap. This goes right to the heart of the matter: why can the scrub not defeat something so obvious and telegraphed as a single move done over and over? Is he such a poor player that he can’t counter that move? And if the move is, for whatever reason, extremely difficult to counter, then wouldn’t I be a fool for not using that move? The first step in becoming a top player is the realization that playing to win means doing whatever most increases your chances of winning. The game knows no rules of “honor” or of “cheapness.” The game only knows winning and losing.
I don't own Brawl and i never practice but i still enjoy goin to tourney's and actually using my head to outsmart my opponents, its not easy because the metagame is still new but its very fun to be able to play withouth the constraints of not being able to practice techskill cause i dont own the game i just play, and do my best to win.
