Man I’d love it if the possible upcoming Smash video was Skull Kid as a newcomer, which also showed off Impa (Echo), Young Link with a fierce diety final smash, and a Termina stage. Would make up for no non-Link Zelda newcomers since melee
Come to think of it, is Young Link's Final Smash the only one we haven't seen yet?

Have we seen Toon Link’s? Maybe he’ll get a wind waker related one. But Link, Zelda, Sheik, and Ganondorf were seen
According to the Smash wiki, Toon Link's is a Triforce Slash. The only ones that haven't been revealed yet are Daisy, Ritcher, and Young Link.

There are plenty of returning vets' Final Smashes we haven't seen yet.

Yoshi
Luigi
Captain Falcon
Peach
Daisy
Young Link
Meta Knight
Dark Pit
Pokémon Trainer
Diddy Kong
Lucario
R.O.B.
Wolf
Wii Fit Trainer
Greninja
Mii Fighters
Robin
Duck Hunt
Richter

Of all the returning vets, Young Link is the only one who has never had a Final Smash, whose FS hasn't yet been revealed.

We also haven’t gotten confirmation on :ultfalcon::ultdiddy::ultlucario::ultpeach::ultwiifittrainer::ultrob: :ultyoshi:either.

Most will probably stay the same, but Diddy and Yoshi had transformations so they have to change. Peach’s is also really sedate and may change.

I expect Richter would share Simon’s and Lucario would get his old Brawl one back, maybe ewith a mega evo first.

But yeah, Young Link is allowed to have the old Triforce Slash so long as he puts the FD mask on first.

I bet Diddy just shoots peanuts stationary like in DK 64 (the rap intro) and Yoshi has that big egg thing from Yoshi’s Island.

Not to get too off topic. Young Link not having Fierce Diety would be a massive missed opportunity

I was so curious if Dark Pit's Final Smash was still GUN so I looked it up and it is, can confirm. Also I know Wolf's is just Fox's and Falco's and Duck Hunt's is the same.

I hope they reveal Young Link's final Smash with Skull Kid as a fighter if he's revealed. It'd be amazing if it were the Fierce Deity, and a missed opportunity if it wasn't.
Worst case scenario, Skull Kid ends up as only part of Young Link's final Smash, but what are the odds of that happening. Right? Right?

How would that work even? Like, Skull Kid just shows up and does all the work for him? Young Link just sits on the side, enjoying a glass of Lon-Lon milk?

I'm not really sure how it'd work, but it could happen.
They did it for Hyrule Warriors' Young Link. Only to later add Skull Kid in as a Character.
I don't actually think they'd do something like this for Smash Bros., but the pessimist in me has kept this possibility in the back of my head for ages now.

God Hyrule Warriors was stupid. I need to buy the DLC still. Also the way the video was edited made me think Young Link transformed into Tingle and I had a moment.

I think that with Ultimate he's playing the "guess what the room is about". It's a little strange that he's changing the room everytime he's on screen and we already saw that the first one was referencing DK (K.Rool) elements, so it's quite possible that something is hidden in the last one...
I keep thinking in a Skull Kid reference.

I keep thinking so too. Considering the background of the one before was rather unusual that seemed very much tied to K. Rool after he was revealed, I'm pretty sure that the stuff in the background was chosen with some intent. I know a lot of people think "Ken and Incineroar are the only ones left" and such, but if the "wood and barrel" one was meant to hint at K. Rool it seems reasonable to assume that that one is likely to hint at a character too. And honestly I can't think of any other character it could be besides Skull Kid (I know people were saying the chairs could mean Waluigi but he's an Assist Trophy so obviously no)

I might give a little more hope for bills tweet being a skull kid hint for smash

Papageno pointed out bill may have done the same thing with snake before E3

He did, he played it off as a dad joke though, very big coincidence if he was just joking around.

For those who didn't see the Snake tweet:
https://twitter.com/trintran/status/1006404371486334976

Literally a day before Smash's "Everyone is Here" moment that revealed Snake. I might also add that Snake was obviously intended as a huge surprise since "Everyone is Here" came up when he was revealed.

I'd keep an eye on it but I'm not going to put all my hopes in it because it could just be a coincidence.

I think if that room is hinting towards a character, it would either be Skull Kid or Shantae. The reason I think this, is because the room has that Clock Town shop vibe to it, as well as a tropical beach vibe to it. Which, would be hinting towards Shantae if the latter.

A talk of confidence regarding music theory.

First of all, we know music ties to character. They went as far to delay the animal crossing song alongside Isabelle.

This alone tells me the Pokemon isn't the final newcomer, especially if it's revealed next week. Why have the Pokemon music revealed before the Pokemon? Two options

1. We're not getting a Pokemon, Verg is wrong
2. The schedule of newcomer reveals may not work due to a multi reveal, or reveals close enough to release they won't have time for it. Basically Box is wrong

I believe there is something to be said about music on the site anyway.

Bad news for Skull Kid?
Wrong.

Unlike with Pokemon, there's reason to for Zelda music to be on the site already. They were obviously tying into the botw content revealed. It's been part of the site from the beginning, and there was a strong breath of the wild focus in E3 direct. Logic dictates a song from the game would be on the site. This is something that would happen regardless of another Zelda character or not.

Honestly I just saw your post on GameFAQs regarding Veg/Box stuff and was going to ask what you thought regarding the Zelda music, but then I remembered you were here too and thought you might bring it up anyway—turns out I was right. :)

Really have high hopes for Skull Kid next week. At this point I'd be surprised if it wasn't him.

That actually kinda fits super well with what Bill said. Also when it comes to Smash, tinfoil hats on all day, everyday. Smash it's self is basically a conspiracy theory.

Me right now as well! That fits too well with his 72 hours remain quote—he could have just said Dawn of the First Day to reference Majora, but he said 72 hours remain as the part to reference and now this happens...

This is cool and all, but what does this actually mean, I'm a bit lost here, I know the time lines up, but do we think the event has to do with Smash?

In all honesty, it probably doesn't. However Bill did spoil Snake's reveal with a tweet before.
In my mind, this means nothing...but good to keep an eye out for Sunday.

My hopefully optimistic theory is the following happens:

Sunday/Monday—Direct Announcement (maybe after said private event?)
Wednesday: Direct Date, Skull Kid reveal

I could definitely see it happening. I don't know for sure how confident I feel about it happening, but I definitely could see it happening.

But I kind of do have to wonder, what's the private event being held, exactly? If not anything Smash related at all, not that it has to be.

Why would they use a private event to show off a reveal trailer?
If I recall correctly, Pac-Man was revealed in a private event. And a potentially epic reveal was boring as hell thanks to that.

From Smash Wiki's page on Pac-Man: "Pac-Man is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4, revealed behind closed doors at the E3 Smash Bros Q&A and made known to the general public via Nintendo of America's official Twitter account before being covered on 'Pic of the Day' the following morning."

And with that, the hype train has left the station. I could see a similar situation happening on Sunday, Skull Kid or some other smash announcement being made behind close doors, only to publicly be revealed the same day or next day.

Hopefully Nintendo of America has learned their lesson from last year.

And hopefully it's Skull Kid!

I really hope that one Verg guy's leaks are disproven, or at the very least Ken and Incineroar are revealed in November and next week is Skull Kid's time to shine. Everything seems to be lining up almost too perfectly for Skull Kid now.

Honestly, as long as we get Skull Kid, I don't care much how he is announced. However, I really hope he gets a "regular" reveal like the others, so I can have fun watching reactions on YouTube.

I remember that. It was stupid then and it would be stupid again now. And much as I love him, Skull Kid doesn't have the...let's say weight that Pac-Man does to his inclusion. He's my current most wanted character, but he's just not important enough.

We have literally no indication that this private event has anything to do with Smash. Until we do, this is just people getting their hopes up only to have them dashed again.

What happened last year?
According a couple posts above, with PacMan Nintendo of America had a meeting like that a few days before the reveal, but the day right after the meeting they posted "Pac-Man joins the battle!" on Twitter, therefore leaking the surprise a few days early.

And even if they do it again, I won't mind too much, just here's hoping that it's Skull Kid, lol. Then again we can't confirm this has anything to do with Smash yet.

I would prefer to see a new character get revealed in a Direct or on the Smash website whether then hearing it get randomly announced.
