I'd love for Skull Kid to be next.

1. He's one of my most requested characters for Ultimate.
2. It will vanquish the box theory once and for all.

Still let's keep things cool. Just because Splatoon is doing a Halloween splatfest doesn't mean Smash will follow suit with a Halloween themed reveal.

However it does sorta kill that whole "Japan doesn't really celebrate Halloween so don't expect a Japanese game to do a Halloween themed reveal" I've seen some people saying. I mean, if a Japanese game like Splatoon 2 is doing a Halloween themed event, why can't Smash do a Halloween themed reveal?

Exactly, if skull kid is in, this is most likely the time to reveal him, that's not to say if he's not revealed this month he's deconfimred, just to be clear.

You Americans with October being skull kid's month... This is not an American game. At this point I'm not hoping for skull kid, I'm hoping for any character other than Ken and Incineroar to confirm the box and card were nothing to trust, and then I'll be back cheering for my boy.

We just really want our character in. I mean, Sakurai could have determined Skull Kid sooner in speculation. Its our right to expect Skull Kid in October.

I'm actually of the opinion that he's either playable (which I hope and lean towards) or is nothing more than a trophy.

I really don't think he's a boss, it makes so little sense to me that I'd sooner believe he's completely absent

I'm guessing we'll get a Smash Direct this month with the following contents:

• Incineroar gets shown off at the start.
• Details on single-player modes, online, etc.
• Ken gets shown off along with another echo (please be Hilda)
• Skull Kid trailer at the end.

Shadow and the rest of the newcomers will probably be shown off another time (I just can't see them revealing two third party echos at the same time). Now is definitely the best time to show off Skull Kid.

I could get behind him having an alternate design based on his TP appearance, but unless there are moves where you get to see his face, I don't think there would be much point to it.

If Skull Kid uses the Mask as part of his moveset (as he should) I don't really think a TP alt would work. Maybe a color scheme inspired by it.

I'm thinking it would be the same colors as TP, with the TP face underneath, but still wearing the mask. Which is why I said what I said about seeing his face, because if you never see beneath the mask, there's almost no point in a TP alt.

No, it's not xD I don't want "A skull kid" because of how much I like those lost children in the Zelda forests, the good character we want to play in smash is the villain of Zelda Majora's Mask.

We're not exactly saying it is gonna happen more that, it's certainly in the realm of possibilities, so to completely rule it out doesn't seem right IMO

So, since I was bored and wanted to pass the time, I came up with a few possible scenarios of what could happen next week and the probable reveal.

1. It's a solo reveal trailer. With this, if it's only a reveal trailer and nothing more, than I feel it will not be a third-party character or a character from an unrepresented franchise do to I feel something like that would deserve more of a spotlight. So I assume it'll be a character to a series already in Smash. I also feel we'll get an echo along side, to make it not a one-and-done type thing. Skull kid and Impa, eh? Eh???
2. It's a Smash Mini Direct, akin to the normal Mini Directs we get being about ten or so minutes long. If it is this, then I feel it can be a third-party character, unrepresented franchise character and/or a character to an existing franchise given they'll have more time to show things. All most likely including Echos. They could even sprinkle in a stage along with an item or two if they please.
3. It's just a Smash Direct. Basically, everything we've come to expect from a normal Smash Direct, giving us potentially all of the above, if not two of the three. Don't really need to go too in depth since I feel you guys know how it is by now. Also another assist trophy massacre
4. It's nothing at all and life carries on as it did the last week before. Bad end.

And there you go, there's all my garbage. Now tell me how wrong I am.

Regarding your last statement, everyone here on these boards seems rather civil and respectful of others' opinions (then again I've mainly been on this thread of fellow Skull Kid fans). Over on the GameFAQs forum for Smash Ultimate it's like a warring mess over there regarding the "Box Theory" and "Only Ken and Incineroar will get in", etc.

I really like the Smash community here.

I'm pretty sure that whenever a character has a very important plot role in something, that version is always the one that gets remembered and thought of. Cause like, when I say "Skull Kid" you don't think of Twilight Princess or Ocarina of Time, you think of Majora's Mask.

Just my personal theory, but I truly think we are getting a Robin/Lucina style video this month. So those revealed characters can get put on the infamous box and the marketing team for the bundle can get that printed and ready to ship by November.
November could/should be the final smash direct that shows off Spirits mode with a reveal or two (Lord please, its perfect for a Skull Kid reveal!)

Because seriously, no "Credible Leaker" has nothing on what Spirits mode is. I have a hunch a reveal or two is connected to its reveal.

There are only 19 tracks listed there, and there were around 34 in Sm4sh. I bet most will return, and we’re definitely getting more.

Still, we do know there’s a new Termina field remix.
