While we're on that, do we have pictures of Mario's hurtboxes?

NP SKidd, I'd prefer helping/learning from other smashers improve their game offline than on. It's much more smooth/simple.

I have a tournament on Saturday anyway.
So I won't be watching G2 stream.
We were going to have one, but everyone would be watching the G2 stream... So...
Lol.

MK for the most part and I just found out this past weekend that I suck against Zamus. But I fair well against the rest of the cast, kinda xD

Pika is a hard character to play so says ESAM. Honestly just find a character that's good and you enjoy playing. If it's MK, go MK. MU wise, Falco is a very good choice assuming you can fight Falco with Mario. Does well vs Mario's bad MUs (MK, Marth, D3) and he's just good overall. When I finally get access to a wii (at a music camp atm and I normally don't get to play) I'm gonna try Olimar. Pierce has a decent one, my brother uses him, and I've wanted to jump on the Olimar hype train since Brood got 2nd at Apex.

Well, I have been thinking of either ROB or D3, but I just cant seem to be able to approach with either of them, especially the latter. And I want to be able to approach, just like Im able to do that with Mario.

I learned Olimar after seeing Brood's match vs M2K, and also after trying him and finding that I really liked how he worked. I really like thinking about Pikmin order, etc and outsmarting your opponent by surprising them with that red pikmin fair or blue pikmin back-throw. :D

What's up Mario mains?

I have a couple of questions I want to ask and I'd like you guys to help me answer them. They're all related to Norfair by the way.

1) How does your character fare with just the stage? Does your character benefit from the layout and the numerous hazards or do they normally hinder you?
2) How does your character generally fare on this stage against certain matchups? Does he excel in a lot of them and only has a few bad MUs, or is he generally bad on this stage against a large portion of the cast?
3) What are some general strategies for your character on this stage? Controlling the center? Stalling? Staying mobile?
4) Overall, would you say that this stage is mostly good for your character, mostly bad, or depends?

Thanks in advance!

Who are the current best Mario players, and what have they accomplished tournament wise recently? On a related note, what are currently the most popular Mario 1v1 match videos worth watching?

I guess I'll try to answer this to the best of my ability (pretty much imo ****)

1)from my experiences ( i played on this stage a lot awhile back given it was wifi though) this stage is pretty good for Mario. In my opinion it benefits Mario more than it would hinder him.
2. I would think this would be a decent stage for some of the cast... maybe even a good stage against DDD with the hazards, small platforms hindering his CGs. Though that bthrow and fthrow **** still hurts a lot.
3. Out of all the three you stated I think Mario is better at staying mobile in this stage
4. Overall I would say it is a good stage for Mario

Ganon is really good on that stage, might be his best stage!
I like norfair because it actually lets us use cape glide conventionally and since our fireballs fall downwards, it's pretty good for camping too.

Too bad MK's shuttle loop will kill about anyone at 40% on the outter platforms

A good Mario stage? I didn't expect this, lol. Can you guys elaborate a bit on why he's so good here?

Its good for Mario against ground based characters like falco, dedede, and diddy because they don't have much space to work with. Against good aerial characters like Mk its awful.

I think the platforms themselves pretty much make this a decent stage for Mario. The platforms can either give us a decent position to camp with fireballs or since dair is a pretty good shieldpoke it provides good shield-pressure against characters that might try to camp us from one of the upper platforms. Mario can be pretty mobile here with cape glides, so the hazards shouldn't be that much of a problem (barring if he gets forced into them somehow and if the Mario actually knows the stage lol). From what I see norfair is almost a 2nd Brinstar (Mario is decent/pretty good) on that as well. Only matchups that I definitely wouldnt take to Brinstar would probably be Metaknight (up-b galore) and possibly GW and Wario.

Im on the same idea as you that its like brinstar. It hinders ground based characters even more though because there's basically no ground to use. That's the big reason I don't think norfair should be legal. That and Mk is really broken on this stage

Im not sure why smashers are so determined to use the term "option-select".

There aren't meaningful ones in smash, lol.
