You definitely need to play Melee dude. It seems similar from the surface, but Melee is a solid game. No offense at all to the Brawl+ people, I know they work hard and have pure intentions (at least when they started), but they aren't video game programmers. They're trying to fix EVERYthing but that in itself is an unattainable goal. For everything that they try to "fix", they create ten new problems that they need to remedy.I don't get it, they seem the same, tiny differences
Witch ones more challenging?
When creating a game sometimes you need to keep cooldown on attacks or give characters bad recoveries. Sometimes that unwinnable match-up is necessary despite how ******** it is. Sometimes generally useless attacks are needed to keep the game structured.
Games NEED bad characters. If you try to make all of them good by giving them ALL good recoveries and a full roster of great attacks while indiscriminately nerfing other aspects of characters that people think are too good in Brawl...you come up with irreparable issues.
Sure, taking out things like tripping and auto-snapping have minimal repercussions on the game as a whole, but when they began to add hitstun, change attacks, add and take out character details almost at random, it got messy. To do what they'd want to do, they'd need to start from scratch and develop patches. That way, when they'd change something in the game, there'd be a legitimate reason.
Every competitive game has top tier characters that ALWAYS win. That's just how it works. MvC2 is MUCH worse in this respect than Melee is, as are hundreds of other good competitive games. 3S, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Tekken, SF4, you name it. Some characters are simply created better than others. The bolded is the reason why I hate melee, and is starting to have a severe dislike for Brawl in general. A game where only four characters matter (Marth, Fox, Falco, Shiek in Melee. Metaknight, Snake, Diddy, and Falco in Brawl) is a game with many problems, and instead of dealing with those problems directly we see people arguing about whether Final Destination should be a counterpick stage, and that's just sad. Brawl isn't even thrilling to watch, it's flatout boring and repetitive. Melee isn't even that much better, it's just more fun to watch since camping is less of an effective tactic.
The fun in it is taking a character you like and pushing them as far as they can possibly go. If you want to WIN, choose a top tier and compete with the other players that use top tier for 1st place. If you simply want to rep your character, then do that. You can't expect everyone to have a fair chance though, not unless the roster has only 1 character.
