I held my tourney on Saturday and it was awesome. Unfortunately for me I flopped big time. I got gayed out by Wario game 1 when I went Mario. I went Luigi, got gayed, then figured out how to beat him. I was winning and then he got a fart on me and I lost. If I played another set against him right now I would win. The 2nd match was another Wario. I went Luigi and beat him even though he was stalling for so long. He then went FD and I switched to Mario. He went Diddy and I lost. Then he went G&W (no offline experience) and I lost. I learned how to fight Wario at the tourney though so I'm not gonna lose against the next Wario.

In teams, I lost to Diem and Shadow who used the most broken team strategy (more broken than Omnigay). I won against double Lucario's (went WarioWare round 1) and then lost to Keitaro and Doom.

Boss is the best! He's #1!

I main Mario/Luigi/G&W...honestly I don't think I actually perform particularly better with any of these characters. It just depends on my mood and sometimes how well I know the matchup.

My Luigi however destroys scrubs.

Ok seriously, I rly think wifi D3s fail to **** Mario cuz it's just d**n easy. I'll go Snake in a regular tourney if I CAN TRY TO GO TO ONE!!! Low tier tourney, Mario all da freakin' way. Mario can **** the whole low tier section includin' Ike, Zelda, Bowser, and PT. Lucas and Yoshi can be a possible threat.

I switch around between Mario, Peach, and DK. I just switch around depending on the matchup, I don't really know who my best character is. Using Peach for Dedede and Wario obviously. I really don't know who I want to use against Luigi though...he's just such a freak.

Dsf said i should drop mario for mk >_>
Not one of these guys. I refuse to use MK. He is a character that makes people his victims. Most people main MK just to win money. Pierce plans to switch to him after Pound 4 (poor Pierce).

As to why I chose Mario I enjoy playing him. I think you actually become a better player if you are able to defeat top tier characters with somebody like Mario. You can't depend on playing gay to win like you can with someone like MK or Wario. You have to rely on being a good player to win. Characters like Mario, Peach, and Fox only go as far as you take them. I hate people switching to high/top tier characters just because they think they need the boost or aren't good enough.

Finally got the video to work. Dunno what Jebus was doing at second stock lol. Proper mindset helps Vato, but knowing your character's potentional does as well.

I've been considering picking up a better secondary myself, but I'll never go Metaknight. Not because he's the best character, but because he just doesn't fit my preference. Same reason why I don't use Marth.

Right now my secondaries are Ike and Link. They work (I'm able to beat G&W's with Ike, and Link is my wildcard), but obviously they aren't the best.

I've been considering Fox, just to CP D3. Or I could take it a step further and use Falco. It's rough to pick up them as secondaries though, because a lot of my morality is placed on Mario/Ike/Link. Should I just tell myself to STFU and pick up Fox/Falco anyway?

The way I see it, if I feel like I cannot win with Mario in some circumstances...like...it's practically impossible, I'd pick up Fox/Falco. If the match-up just feels like it's too hard, then I'd stick with Mario and keep trying to get better at it.

If you do need a secondary for a given match-up, I'd pick a secondary with best covers them. Diddy covers most of Mario's rather well too.

Hero, pick up Fox/Falco. U'll **** DDD w/ your CGs, same thing w/ Snake. Fox, he'll be aight, he'll do ok on DDD and Snake. U don't have to STFU, just try dem out and give dem a chance, lul. My secondaries is Peach, Snake, and G&W. D**n, I luv Peach, she's too gud. :)

Falco is probably any Mario main's best secondary for cps. Besides MK.
Only characters you'd need a CP for is MK. Of course there are other characters that it would be good to have a backup like D3, Marth, and G&W. Falco is good because he fights MK well and is a hard counter to D3 but doesn't do well against Marth and I have no idea how he does against G&W. I was thinking of certain characters to pick up. I've worked on Kirby a bit although mine isn't good at all. I'm also thinking of Wario but I'd probably try and play a more aggressive Wario. Lucario, Falco, and Snake are also good options. I'd play Olimar, but mine is complete garbage. I'm the most aggressive Olimar ever and I SD a LOT (even against lvl 9 CPU's). Any bits of advice.

Wishing Apex 2012 happened again.
seconding marth from experience is bad lol, he loses 4/6 and 35:65 to snake and mk. and using marth vs snake is like the same thing, except with a projectile and better gimping and other **** lol

i used to second marth, but i might drop him for mk, cause mk is 5x better lulz, or snake hes really fun and broken lol

I have Falco and Link for secondaries, but I use Falco more in competitive matches. I use him against ghey campers and D3. Sometimes Snake, if my Mario cant handle him. I'm tempted to pick up Luigi cus I just started using him today and he's fun as heck.

Kirby seems like a good secondary, so long as you are able to handle Marth with Mario, which I visibly can't do...

Man, probably one of the hardest things to do in this game by far is intelligently applying Mario's Sliding Up-smash.

It's hardest to do if the enemy has projectiles in particular...I was thinking one possible way to mindgame it in for kills is by F-throwing into it, maybe throwing out a fireball, and doing the Sliding Upsmash there.

Really? I don't think so... Condition your opponent, then get them with it when they try to land or after a fireball. *shrug* I don't know... doesn't seem too bad to me.
