Nah but I'm picking up Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja III for Wii. I was into GNT4 for Gamecube and over the weekend at Doom's House Tournament I watched dmbrandon and Turbo Ether play that game A LOT and the game itself it like super balanced and I'd really like to get back into it with this game. It looks hella fun.

MK is so much harder than G&W, that's why I started just CPing MK vs. other MKs because I love the MK ditto so much.

I dunno what you guys are on, G&W is definitely harder than Metaknight if they know what they're doing and decide to camp you.

His D-tilt, F-air, and D-air are super tedious to work around...the latter two are basically impossible to avoid when you are offstage. He's one of the hardest characters for Mario to actually hit with a KO move (specifically F-smash) since all of his attacks are more disjointed and have only 10 frames of ending lag usually.

The entire time you basically have to run away from him and hope he makes a lot of spacing mistakes. And he can kill you at like 90% if you make a spacing mistake (watch out for that Up-smash!). Furthermore, he's not going to let you fireball camp and get away with it if he knows what he's doing. That Bucket kills you at like 40%, and it's not even that hard for him to land considering it starts up in two frames.

Metaknight, there isn't any disadvantage to camping him, and generally you'll be surviving longer against him as long as you DI well. Metaknight can also actually be F-smashed if you have really good spacing since you can outrange stuff like his Smashes with it on the charge.

Well, if you want a character specific counter for G&W use Marth/MK...They flat out rhape G&W...seriously.

D3 is good against G&W...you can basically just sit there and spam Ftilt and Dees...

I use to use Luigi/D3 for some of my bad matchups

I've played a number of Marths, and I don't think Marth flat out ***** G&W, but I'd agree Metaknight is G&W's worst matchup.

Sadly, none of those cover Marth, ICs, or Lucario, and Ganon is flat out bad.

Weird though... my MK is decent, but I never use him. Maybe I should think of actually CPing these characters with him sometime...

Mario covers the ICs by himself...kinda. Well it's a super tedious and risky matchup, but it can be done.

ICs just simply piss me off with their 0- death combos, I don't play Mario against them, just a campy and gay Falco.

If not there's enough shield stun for you to get away and start spacing/camping again.

I just can't stand the amount of work I have to put into beating him only to be grabbed and have it negated any longer. I also need to break this plateau of 17th place.

Pit is pretty easy to use unless you're going up against someone like Metaknight who just violates him so badly lol.

His F-smash out of shield is SO STUPID. His Jab is extremely difficult to punish on reaction. His roll dodge is also stupidly hard to react to.

He has basically nothing that beats the Mach Tornado though lol.

So I had my first tourney ever on Saturday. It was Holy House, the same one Xero was at. I did okay.

-Tied for 9th on the 16-man bracket.
-In pools I went 0-2, 0-2, 2-0.

No vids for me, but I'm hoping to get some stuff recorded soon so I can get some pointers from the Mario boards. Gotta get Mario some more rep!

I'm not saying you're bad, but that controller was super crap that I used. I will not be attending the tourney there. My next tourney is probably gonna be powerplay gaming in Denville NJ then after that will probably be a tourney hosted by me and Pierce.

Something to help with is to makes it so that you recover safer. If you have wifi, then I might play you with a not as crappy controller (i lost my only really good controller at poly). I'll give you advice like I did with Shahryar. I won't be as nice though

When I used to play with Fly Amanita, Ice Climbers, we used to have close matches. Main thing you gotta do: Not get grabbed.

Randomly fludding, I found out, was very useful as well :D

believe it or not, I'd rather use sonic vs. Ice climbers than either of the bros. Luigi does have good range and ko power, but you have to be really careful since one grab can mean death. Mario has to be even more careful (unless you're really good at applying shield pressure). Sonic can always run away of course, and is the least predictable (though that's a player thing) so i think he's less likely to get grabbed.

I should get a higher tiered secondary though, I'm looking into falco (lazers are awesome)

uhmmm,....luigi has the one of the shortest (if not the shortest) range in the game and mario can actually avoid the grab better cuz his fireballs falls on the ground, jump=> cape is totally safe on shield just like dair and FLUDD gives you space
and btw sonic may run away but all of his approaches can be pivot grabbed so f()cking easily
i find sonic is one of the easiest chars to grab
