Results say Yoshi >>>>>>>> Ness/Mario/Lucas

http://flayl.tengun.net/smash/lowtier_characters.php

Sonic has the best results of the 5 by far, Yoshi is also leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of Low-Mid/Low tier, and Mario is actually lowest of them all, but imo has potential to hit Ness status. I dont see Mario getting anywhere near Yoshi, and DEFINITELY not Sonic unless some insane and miraculous breakthrough happens, but I don think he could easily get Ness status if you Mario mains step up and show your viability now that MK is gone.

I'm going to another tourney today. Wish me luck. I'm going to rep Mario and show these people what I'm made of. I also am looking forward to proving myself to Apex… I am a better Mario than people take me for I think… Probably because I don't have a lot of videos out there...

Hey guys, I have a question. When using FLUDD against Ness/Lucas and they're trying to recover, should I try to make them lag or try to push them before they hit their selves? Because I know sometimes they can recover if I try to push them before they hit their selves, but I have trouble timing it so that they lag lol

EDIT: I probably should've asked in the Q&A thread, I can't think straight apparently ;____;

You forgot popularity. If you don't account for popularity yeah Yoshi has a much better score.

Ever think Yoshi might be more popular for a reason?

Having a bunch of Yoshi mains that go around and get mid level and occasional top placings should indicate something about the character. It's not like it's just me and Polt going around scoring top 10 placings or anything.

We need to find a new way of playing Mario. Maybe playing with Mario offensively is the way to go.
Tried and failed hard at year 2008 to 2009. The only truly offensive Mario I've seen was Matador's and myself until I studied Mario.

The way you play Mario is relative to your opponent's character and that's all there is to it.

We just dont have anything to talk about lol. APEX preparations brought back a bit of activity though.

Also, a Yoshi player, when one has attended, has placed higher in nationals than Mario almost every national, so imo Yoshi has a much better chance to win a national just due to past results.

As a brony, imo it isnt god's gift or anything like that. It's just a really well done show with an intellectual plot and characters, and that has producers who care about the fanbase and treat us like we arent idiots.

And yeah, I doubt Yoshi or Mario will ever actually win a national, but if I had to choose betweem one of the two to do it, Id hands down go with Yoshi.

Neither character is going to win a national so it really doesn't matter.
Mario really needs more tournament rep. to show his potential. He's been lacking.

Yoshi's got much more of a case to say he's better :urg:

Edit: Actually, hasn't Yoshi gotten relatively close to taking top spots at nationals? I'll check.

Like 17th at Pound V; that's really good for someone who was in low tier. Again, Mario has nowhere near the same level of performance atm.

I hate how the bronies (if thats the actual pluralized form...) treat the show like it's God's gift to Earth when it really isn't.
Not all of us do that :urg:

It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it's certainly not bad. at this stereotype about us.

I'm aware Yoshi is more popular because he's better. But you can't take a character that has double the Mario mains (I think there are 4 Yoshi's for every 1 Bowser for example) and say "yeah look at how much better our points are". There is a certain case of "no ****" going on :p

I could also argue Ness is still better than Yoshi. But yeah Mario and Bowser wished they had Yoshi's placings.

Bronies are far more rampant than furries on the Yoshi boards.
The groups tend to overlap, though. Both make me rage.

This^

Btw Delta, I'll actually be home for a period of time to do something. Leaving for home today at 2:30 and I'll be able to do stuff until January 2nd.
Awesome. I get break after this week, so we'll have to meet up.

I got 9th at KTAR6, if you want to consider that a national. It sort of was, lol.

Ah, okay. I agree with you then.

I think if all of Mario's mains didn't quit Mario, one of them would've had the opportunity to wreck a tourney around here.

Vato had the ability to really wreck **** on WC, but went to the dark side...Dory did well with Mario while co-maining MK.

Both Xero and BO X7 have taken big names at the tourneys they've gone to over the years, but both have more-or-less quit...too soon imo.

EC, none of us aside from Kirin goes to tourneys regularly enough. 2Fast is starting to, I think. Famous never really can, as far as I can tell. Im lazy as ****. Monk in Florida can't get to tourneys when he wants...

I don't think Mario's incapable of doing well at a national, too. To be honest, I don't know WHAT Mario's capable of.

I wouldn't even call my style offensive anymore, lol.

Just aggressive zoning, or something along those lines...

Being sarcastic and pointing out the obvious.
32 people (notable people like Ally,Logic,Seagull,M2K-I think he forfeited somewhere in brawl singles-, tech chase, Boss was there too but he only entered brawl doubles -and got first with logic-, and TO Joe)

I left before it finished but iirc

1/2 Ally/Logic
3. M2K (forfeit I think?)
4. TO JOE
5. BerserkerSwordsman
5. Seagull I think

then idk the rest

Is it sad that I am dying to be mentioned in these types of posts, and I let it get to me a little bit when I'm not? UGH I JUST WANT TO BE RECOGNIZED! Ok I'm done *****ing.

EDIT: I WILL be proving myself to you all at Apex. Just so you know.

Yeah, steep, I think you're coming along. Still have a ways to go though. You've upped your game a lot but I feel you still commit to things too often/early and things like that come with more experience. It's sort of hard to get people to respect Mario and I certainly didn't in our friendlies over the weekend, but once you do, I think it really opens up his game a ton. Every good Mario does it in their own way, you're getting there for sure.

Did we place the same at Jake's btw?

Oh, I used Mario this weekend. 0-1 vs Hilt's Oli. Did good, failed to kill early and then had to play catchup. Story of my Mario career.

Minus was fun though.

Sometimes I really wonder why I play this game.

I went 1-2 in bracket. How'd you do? I saved a game of my Mario vs Hilt's Oli. It was close, but I have had to play an olimar first round at almost every GP… lol I lost but I'm getting better at that MU. Thanks for the support Juu. I just get frustrated is all. I beat Composer but lost to Sorasin btw.

I tried to use Mario today

But Sonic was just much more fun and rewarding for me >.<

And Sonic doesn't get GR -> Dtilt by Bowser >_>

Mario's got that "whatever this character can do, someone else can do it better, and then some" problem IMO
