On a side note, in case you guys are interested, finally found an apartment and should hopefully move in Thursday if all goes well. So yeah, hopefully you guys should start seeing me around again starting next week.


Oh, and when I finally get myself set up, I should be able to record stuff for you guys.

I guess it might be there. Tbh Mortal Kombat is less fun for me than Street Fighter, I was surprised at the amount of front-pages it made on Shoryuken, so perhaps there is some kind of following I'm oblivious to.

Someone forced me to play MK vs DC yesterday. Now I know it was a horrible game, but yeah... I never really got into MK, but if I ever had any leftover desire to play the MK franchise, MKvsDC soundly killed it (Seriously, I don't think I've ever played a worse fighting game. Ever.).



On a side note, does anyone else play the Resident Evil Deck Building Game? (I don't want to say card game because it's not a trading card game, but yeah.)

It is well worth playing IMO. Been playing it damn near non-stop when I have spare time. It could actually be a competitive game too if anyone starts hosting tournaments (Although combat shotgun is dumb.).

the reason they cut down on the gore was because DC did not want its Heroes to get F'd up by MK characters. DC said to Ed Boon that the only way they'd give him the rights to use their characters in an MK game, is if the violence is reduced significantly. Noticed none of the Fatalities are even good? I gave that game a 2/10 at first sight, then a 0/10 when i actually played it.

That's why Boss is one of my favorite players...lol

The more I watch Boss in both Melee and Brawl, the less I agree with his playstyle personally. He's good at mixups and his execution is usually pretty good, but I don't like his move choices most of the time. It's not even a question of frame data, he just doesn't know his characters as well as he should. Kirin and Flameleon in comparison I feel make much more well thought out choices.

Boss's playstyle shows the most weaknesses when you watch him play Chudat's ICs in Melee. Seriously, that matchup is EASY for Mario. Only Boss and Chudat (and unfortunately other people who play like Boss) make it look hard lol.

Boss loses pretty consistently to Chudat in Melee. It's a perfect example of where if he simply knew his character/matchups better, he wouldn't be getting bodied by Chudat. Mario/Doc both beat the ICs (Mario moreso). Probably the other problem with Boss's playstyle is he really just isn't accustomed to playing a strong defensive ground game, which is REQUIRED against the ICs.

The set was taken down from youtube a long time ago, but an IC main in my area told me that UberIce and Chudat I believe once had to play each other in tournament. They ended up doing Mario dittos as a result of trying to CP each others ICs lol.

I'd say Boss and Chudat are fairly close on skill/experience though, and Chudat is 3stocking Boss without much effort since Boss doesn't know the matchup (when to be frank, Boss should actually be WINNING against Chudat if he simply used a lot more B-throw). I'd probably at worst get 2stocked by an ICs that was clearly better than me. Chudat's playstyle personally doesn't scare me tbh. The point is for a high level Mario user, Boss is usually not a good example to emulate since he doesn't know his characters/matchups as well as others.

I'm also willing to bet that if I met Boss in person, I would beat him at the Mario ditto in Melee (or I would beat his Doc with my Mario). He's probably not willing to play nearly as gay as I am, and his ground spacing in general is fairly underdeveloped. His quick playstyle definitely works better than mine against space animals, but when he has to slow down, he doesn't seem to know what he should be doing.

And if by any chance Boss does beat me in a Melee Mario ditto, I'm going to call that I will have forced him to play gayer than he's ever had to play in his entire career.
