should i use mario or luigi against ics

srs answers plsxzsxxxz
Mario due to Fireballs and D-air ****. He has a better keep-away game too due to better aerial mobility.

Luigi will **** the hell outta Sopo but he has a harder time separating them, let alone avoiding grabs if we follow the 1 grab = 1 stock mentality.

I've been telling you guys what happens from real matches.

And what Hero said about vs ICs.

I actually beat an ICs in tournament with Mario, beating him in losers after he beat my G&W in my first and only winners bracket match. The only bad news was the replays weren't saved. Aside from the fact I will admit my win was clutched out to the extreme...I think I can tell you what works.

So I just star KO'd a Luigi with Dair at 129%.

From the middle of FD.

He was grounded...

How did this happen and how do I do it again??

Was he charging a Smash? That increases knockback by 20%.

It's worth knowing that if Snake hits you with F-tilt1 while you charge a Smash, this knocks you in the air, and if he continues to F-tilt2, he does less damage and knockback with F-tilt2 than he normally would.

Okay, so whenever you read a ftilt from Snake, you should charge a smash and take a hit, instead of iono... Cape? Run away? Grab? Even up b? Got it.

On a social note... Lupe Fiasco - Lasers... disappointed =/

Kanzaki be mad that he don't know how to use his head like I do. One day you'll understand how relatively low risk it is to properly space a charged F-smash against Snake. =)

Also, it's hard for Mario to do, but doing aerials in between hits of Snake's F-tilt out of shield is REALLY REALLY GOOD. Even if Snake can technically interrupt it by always committing to F-tilt2, again it's much lower risk than people realize.

I'm sorry I don't know how to use my head, despite already being licensed as a "Professional Engineer", and currently an Intern at Southern California Edison =/

And also having the title as "Best Mario" in SoCal for a while, til Vato went Super Saiyen. Oh wells, life sucks :[

Btw, I like the contradiction "OMGAH LET SNAKE HIT YOU WITH FTILT, JUST CHARGE A SMASH!!", into "Oh.. just space it, you won't get hit *thumbs up".

^Prime example of what I'm saying.

Never anywhere did I tell you to space badly and let Snake hit you. I expect you to take me completely word for word and to never make assumptions based on your own flawed intuition.

I'm telling you that in the event you do space badly and Snake F-tilt1s you to trying to charge a Smash, the end result is not nearly as bad as you would expect. If you actually read exactly what I was saying word for word and used your head, you would have figured this out already.

I didn't know charging smashes increase knockback...that explains a lot...

He might have been. He was a charge-happy luigi.

Btw, Atlantic screwed up Lasers...I didn't expect it to be good after they stuck their **** in the project at every turn...

Yeah. Charging Smashes and getting hit while in the charge stance is an easy way to die at RIDICULOUSLY low percents.

If you want to use Smashes at low percents though, it's also nice to know that getting hit while charging a Smash can sometimes mess up some combos.

Lupe's going main stream.. quite depressing =/
The Cool was mainstream as **** anyways, lol. Still was pretty awesome though...I think he can find a balance somewhere.

@ A2: Thanks for the info...earlier today I fought a G&W that killed me with Dsmash at 70%. I chalked it up to bad DI + stupid ****ing character but that would make sense.

Been trying to make a habit of charging smashes to punish rolls and spotdodges.

My favourite rap/hip-hop band would have to be Fort Minor, but they haven't produced anything in a while :(.

@A2 - Yea, I didn't know that either, that's extremely helpful.

I feel most of the people who are going to roll against Mario are going to roll away...especially since rolling away in general is safer than rolling forward. Which you could attempt to punish with a psychic sliding Up-smash, though that requires some real balls and execution. Alternatively...I'm trying to find ways to land late Dash Attack for kill setups.

It's really funny to catch someone spotdodging with a charged F-smash though. I feel like I kinda learned that tactic because of playing you on wifi ages ago.

Didn't Lupe say officially that he "hated" Lasers? Not a big fan of him myself, but at least he had the balls to come out and say it.

Blue Scholars, CYNE, J. Cole, Nas and Shad.

I only charge F-Smashes near the edge. Easier to predict.

How is it high risk? The worst that could happen is you get tosses offstage or hit for a few percent.

There's not many characters that want to challenge our Usmash anyway...and even fewer can punish it OOS cuz it pushes em so far.

It's not hard to punish a bad habit, lol. If you see someone roll away just once, they will likely do it again throughout the match. Just take a guess based on when YOU'D roll backward in their position, and go for it.

Besides, what're they gonna do if you miss? Grab? Stale their Fsmash?

This is Brawl. There's only a few characters capable of quick, heavy punishes and even those are under specific conditions.

I think it's high risk because if they don't roll back, they will punish you because you're just running. If it's a habit that's different. Habits are easy to abuse (like how apparently I thought today that I could juggle with Fsmash lol). Eventually the player will stop the bad habit by realizing what's a better option (remembered Usmash is good for juggling). I'm do such dumb **** when I'm not thinking 100% of the time and it's really obvious when I am.

Hey, you're wrong? They nair you or something...maybe...if they're fast enough.

You're right? You kill them. Not only that, you've shaken them with that crazy *** read. You know people literally do not roll or spotdodge vs Boss in MD/VA? They're scared to try, lol.

Me vs. Boss was so bad, but it showed me a lot. Although I was in a mind set of "I'm moving on regardless" I was destroyed. I died by UpB so many times and there were so many I didn't even see coming. Being open vs. a good Luigi for a split second = death. I also got destroyed by Will. My playstyle is *** vs. DK , but I still enjoy playing against him.

Who played Pit in my first round pool? I beat a TL and a Mario/MK (I gave up a free gimp like a noob game 2 vs. the MK and I 3 stocked his Mario)
