NEW MINDGAME/TACTIC GET HYPE!

F-tilt backwards -> Reverse F-smash.

Haven't used it on a good player yet, but I think this one has potential.

How it works: Basically what you're doing is using the forward leaning of F-tilt to dodge an attack and then you F-smash (or do whatever) behind you.

And F-tilt ends a little bit earlier than spotdodge so yeah. Try it out and tell me what you think.

There's a thing called PRACTICE.

Most likely dropping Mario for a new SINGLES main, I still plan on using Mario in doubles AND low tier events >.>

Any suggestions? :D I'm aiming for any of these:

Fox
Diddy
Luigi
Wario
Marth

I already use Fox and Luigi as secondaries, not exclusively though, Diddy and Wario just seems fun :]

depends, on your preference and style, if you want to have fun and/or play2win, personally i'd go wario, marth is trashy character, we have metaknight for that, and diddy is fun to work on

and yay marios dropping mario only for low tier shizz, and for better character, i thought i was only one who wanted to do this xD (i refuse to, after my performance in pools :D )

Use Diddy, Wario, or Marth. Those are good characters.

Lol @ 0:29, fire ball lock and Xero doesn't follow up.

Slow Mario, but smart. My Mario is fast and smart, a bit more campy and planky too, and easily punished =/

I wouldn't have been able to follow up, Big-O, he was too far away from me when I hit him with the fireball.

And my Mario is only slow until I decide to get inside, do some damage, and then leave, only to repeat the process again a few seconds later.

around 0:20 to 0:22, you caped him but you fsmash and he ps'd it >.< should have done a retreating bair or zoned him from there since he literally had no room and went for a unesscary risky move lol.

@Big-O, Xero is right, but Xero did a better decision and covered his options with the little room he had, 64 spotdodged and xero had the choice of just punishing it with nair, but hit him with a dsmash him, but either way he's at a disadvantage and you just have to guess/react for the get up option.

This actually seems to work pretty well, I was able to pull it off a few times tonight.

I don't get the mindgame. If my opponent is doing an attack in the wrong direction I'm gonna think "they are completely open." *hit* What am I not getting?

Think the leanback of F-Smash to avoid attacks, just with (Reverse) F-tilt instead.

If you want to dashgrab with Mario, do a DAC dashgrab. Like Snake does, you gain a bit more distance on your dashgrab when you do so (like 5 inches for Mario but still). You can do this by pressing C stick down or A and then immediately after pressing Z.

You mean like Snake's Pivot grab that he uses for his Dthrow tech chase?

No, what I mean is, you know how the Dash attack cancel works? Well it can be canceled by Up-smash, grab, and item tossing iirc. So basically Snake actually can extend his dashgrab range by doing DAC Grabs, and Mario is another character who can do the same thing actually, only the effect is MUCH less noticeable.

Why don't you use pivot jab instead of the ftilt? Faster and safer...unless you wan't to jab the wrong direction then ftilt the opponent...
