Manifest Melbourne, Who is coming? (Possible smash competition)

Hey guys.

I was curious to know who was attending manifest this August? Anyway, I was talking to one of the guys there who happens to run the part associated with the gaming competitions. He's willing to get smash ran on one of the days at manifest, but ill probably need some assistance in making this completely possible. I know jei is already willing to help out, but I'll need all the help I can get with some equipment. I haven't discussed whats happening about Tvs and such though. I'll update when I get more info about this.

Would love to hear your feedback =).

I'm thinking of also making a facebook group for all the melbourne smashers, kind of like what grims done with SA and its working really well. I think its a smart idea getting them there first, then linking them to smashboards from the group.

Just some ideas to help make the scene get bigger again.

Well, I talked to the dude. I got the okay and i'll be able to run a ruleset that isnt completely stupid =O! I'm meeting up with the console somepoint next week to discuss what times we'll plan the tournament. I'd be really helpful to know if anyone would gladly donate their wii+brawl for the day. I only have mine supplied atm, so ill need more help if possible =/.

There's going to be prizes as well btw. Plus I'll be making a new flyer to try promote the Melbourne smash scene.

I've been every year since it first started so there's no way I would miss one. I'm keen for a smash tourny as long as it's melee/64.

Anyway, I'm seeing the guy on Tuesday so. I think brawl is the most popular request in the manifest thread. But I'll try and get melee and 64 involved too if it suits you guys. Theres going to be tournaments running over the two days, so maybe they could be run on separate days?

Manifest 2011 Details

Talking about it with 64 people, we think there is no point than attending for more than one day considering price of tickets. If we want to split up brawl/melee/64 that's ok, but if anyone cares the 64 guys will probably only be attending the Saturday.

But if we split up I cannot lend Miss ChuChu my Wii which would cause a catastrophe to the entire operation.

Most of the events will be occuring on saturday, so the tournament will be on that day most likely. Sunday is just going to be extra random tournaments. In other words, saturday is going to be the more important day. And dont worry about lending the wii ciaza, I think we'll have enough setups by then.
