Glide attack, Shuffle nair (double hit), F tilt, 41-45% from 0, it's so good, I did so many of these at hobo11. I was wondering if this would be useful later when the metagame evolves more but it seems it's pretty much guaranteed if you get a glide attack off at 0

yes im naming this after myself cuz i want to and use it often

Videos are always nice Mew2King :).

But liek what other guy has named a combo after himself, seriously :p.

But really... are you -sure- it's guaranteed combo? I'm perplexed as to whether or not someone who's aware of it would be able to escape it or not.

Gah, you need to start playing some other characters to advance their meta-game and catch up. MK doesn't need your help!

You know, people who have combos named after them wasn't named by them. The Ken Combo wasn't named after Ken by Ken and the Cazcombo wasn't named after Cazcom by Cazcom. They were named because people saw them use these "combos" in almost every match.

It's hard as hell to land the glide attack though. I mean, you're telling your openent a lot by gliding at them.

Personly, I find the dash attack>utilt>nair>ftilt to be more reliable and safer.

Let's call that the Azula combo. Jk

Hasn't M2K you tried this before with Marth?
This thread was originally called M2K combo, which was short hop double fair, forward B B B downB, into tech chase with Fair to tipper F smash, but later I learned that doesn't work cuz of super small stun time, so I made this thread about random Marth stuff you guys can read. So don't even bother trying it cuz it only worked like the 2nd hour I had the game.

I like to do forward B B B upB at 0, then chase their double jump with full jump tipper fairs off the level and go wayyyyy off then edge hog their up B vs some chars. It's a good way to make them waste their jump and aggressively edge guard/gimp them. However, this only works if you're close range, otherwise they are able to DI away from the forward B combo and the last hit won't hit.

Ken combo doesn't work on good people at all, if it does they messed up, it doesn't combo at all though. The only "legit" way it can work is to dair them after they air dodge, otherwise it's escapable.

ya but i dont care, and i also dont like recording things, because i always play worse when im recorded, and i dont want ppl to copy most of my MK stuff, but i do like saying some things, like this one.

edit - that marth thing was the day brawl came out, and it doesn't really work anyway on good ppl, but the mk one does work the vast majority of the time almost guaranteed

How was HOBO 11? Is Texas as bad as some douches on the east coast make them out to be?

So this is the M2K combo... I heard vague things about this from people beforehand. Sounds tasty.

against big chars after the F tilt you can Tornado

against the other characters you can either short hop uair (and footstool + dair if they air dodge past you) into more uairs/aerials

or, you can up B right away from the ground (and possibly glide attack them)

those are 3 good options after the F tilt

remember, ground up B does 9% (as long as its not the top weak part if you know what I mean) but an aerial up B does 8%. Aerial up B is only useful is you're going to gimp or follow up, otherwise it's damage output isn't that great

It's called a metagame. Each character has their own and each person plays the same way. Let's take Samus for example. Unless you're new to the game, you're most likely going to use Missiles, Super Missiles, short hop > Homing Missile. This is what many Samus mains do. This is a metagame. So whether or not you have it recorded, someone is going to find out and record it. And when that happens, they'll get the praise because they had it recorded and posted it up on YouTube. Take Smash64 for example. The "combo" called Cazcombo is really called pillar spiking. Smash64 claims to have found this out before Cazcom. But it was because of Cazcom that it became noticed and named.

So while Smash64 claims to have made this up, he really can't say he did since he has no proof other than another player saying he made it up.

I'm glad I didn't play a Friendly with you M2K. I'm REALLY GLAD.

IDK what the name of the combo is. I just want it to work!

So M2K, are you coming to next HOBO? Just wondering... =D

Lol I like the fact that you think it's necessary to tell M2K about the history of smash and that you are trying to advise him on metagame. In case you didn't know, M2K is probably the best smash player in the world. Even the people who don't believe he is the very best at least have to admit that he is in the top like 5. So if I were you, I wouldn't be wasting my time trying to tell the best player how to play.

3 questions:

1. Are there vidoes of HOBO 11? I'd really like to see them.

2. Do you know if any characters are vulnerable to being Mach F-tilted before they can tech instead?

3. Why didn't you just bump the old thread?

WTF I DIDN'T HIT THE THUMBS DOWN ICON! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A "?"

QUESTION MARK I SAY!

the next hobo has MK banned which is dumb

I have not used any character other than MK for MANY months straight, so this will be hard, because I didn't realize people were just going to ban him even though I have always thought MK should not be banned (he makes the game fun to me).

sorry i didn't record stuff at hobo11, I purposely asked to not be recorded because I was 1) afraid I was going to do bad if I'm taped like I always do and 2) people would copy a lot of stuff I do making people want to ban MK even more

I regret it now, I beat dojo/DSF/Azen in the tourney MK dittos all 2 stock mid % (or mid/low) in the tournament, although it's harder when I fight other characters (basically most high or mid/high tiers for the most part, or weird characters). Matchup experience is extremely important in Brawl I believe, but other people can't seem to understand this, and just get beat by simple things too often, making my opinion in the minority even though I'm sure I'm right.

Match up experience is one of the most vital assets to winning in a players arsenal. If you do not know how to deal with a specific character tactic, you will lose. I'm starting to believe Meta Knight has the advantage on G&W simply from reading what Hylian had to say about what it is you taught him, and it all makes sense. Those specific pointers you gave him are all based on match up experience. But few people actually pay attention to those sort of things, they just play the way they would with any other character and expect to win based on their overall skill level and character tier placement. Tsk tsk.
