Q: What is the purpose of this thread?
A: To accurately portray how below-average characters fare in tournaments and to try and measure a character's worth after accounting for popularity.
Q: How far back does the data of this thread go?
A: 1st of August 2010. It's simply too much work to gather results from the whole year, much less Brawl's entire lifespan.
Q: What characters are eligible for this thread?
A: All low tier characters + the characters in the tier immediately above. As of right now, these characters are: Bowser, Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, Ike, Jigglypuff, Link, Lucas, Luigi, Mario, Ness, Pokémon Trainer, Samus, Yoshi and Zelda/Sheik.
The lowest-of-mid tier characters are included for comparison to low tier characters as well as themselves, since they do not frequently place top 8.
Any character not listed above used as a secondary invalidates the entry.
Q: How do I submit my results?

Q: What is the formula you are using?
A: 10 * Entrants * (1 - log base Entrants (Placement in Top X))^1.5 * Entry Fee/Number of Characters Used * Decay Factor
Placement in Top X and not Xth place. This means for 9th place I use top 12 and put 12 in the formula.
Decay Factor is the difference, in days, between the start of a tournament and the last update over 731 days (2 years).
