Microsoft Surface.
Discuss.
Surface looks really cool, and it has a lot of potential, but with a minimum 5 thousand dollar price tag, it's going to be hard to realistically implement it the way Microsoft imagines it. Only the very wealthy are going to have the money to buy one for themselves, but right now consumer versions aren't feasible.
Also, because it relies on cameras to enable touch recognition, it does make us wonder how easy it will be to get something like this serviced. Integrating cameras with a computer and the touch panel itself probably isn't very simple, and if one camera or more loses functionality, how easy is it going to be to get it replaced? Furthermore how much will that cost to the end user? Will microsoft work on updates to improve camera performance and extend the life of the unit?
