Life is hard enough without having to try and go a day without talking. =P Seriously I WAS gonna try but I didn't know it was today so when I found out I was like "I'll do it too!" but then I was like "Meh I can't do this..." so I didn't, just like last year! =D

Straight people already think gay people are weird enough... and now they're all going around being silent. Wtf, man.

I didn't find out until it was today either. Totally forgot about it.

It's not a big deal though. I participated in my sophomore year of high school, and believe me, it's not worth it. If anything, all it did was make other people stop talking to me. Not like people started walking around waving rainbow flags the next day. Nothing gets accomplished.

Melee is infinitely more deep and thus a better quality game for tournament play.

Brawl is cute, but Melee is more competitive.

I'm not a competitive person and I can't move my fingers super quickly... also I like the new floatiness and multiple air dodges... so I guess I'm part of the minority that likes Brawl better. ._.; Though I'm not saying it's perfect... I hate how unbalanced the roster is and tripping and such...

I'm not gay, but I'm bi. My school friends were okay with it for a little while, but eventually would avoid me in the halls. You know how that is? Yeah. I thought so.

If they ever made a Gay Mario character for SSB I would be the happiest man ALIVE! I would literally gloat to my friends at every turn, "Hey! Who got beat by the gay character!?!"

I think the world just needs to be humbled, or reminded of what the Holocaust did to people when a group was singled out. We're coming close to acceptance, but really its just tolerance. We'll come together one day, hopefully.

On the subject of good news: I go to Alternative Prom with the guy I like tomorrow night <3.

On the subject of the day of silence: I wasn't able to participate due to wedding preprations, I'd get smacked.

And a hilarious note of the day of silence: My college had a deafness convention the same day

And about the Day of Silence, I just forgot about it. And it really doesn't make sense anyway. Why be silent about the cause you believe in?

In this case, "ATs" stand for Advanced Techniques (e.g. wavedashing, L-cancelling, Ledge teching, etc.)

And Skyler, please do us all a favor and stop judging everyone who likes Melee better than Brawl as someone that's all "NOOO IT SUCKS 'CAUSE THERE'S NO WAVEDASH!!" A good chunk of us that like Melee better than Brawl just like it because we have more fun with it. Brawl is still a pretty awesome game, but for a lot of us with a competitive mindset, Brawl just lacks what Melee had.

Brawl has a lot of problems compeitively. Not really the 'lack' of advanced techs, but more of the fact that there's a lot of really stupid, broken bull**** that's very, VERY easy to do. Dedede's chaingrab is a good example. It can infinitely chaingrab almost any character all the way across the stage so long as the player doesn't do something stupid and mess it up (which isn't often), and sometimes it can even lead to a loss of the opponent's stock, and all Dedede has to do is grab, dthrow, run forward, grab again, repeat. Another example is that if Pikachu grabs a Fox at lower percents, he can chaingrab Fox just by grabbing, d-throwing, and grabbing again without even moving at all, and Fox can't do absolutely anything until about 60-70%, where by that time the Pikachu can just USmash -> Thunder.

Another problem Brawl has for competitive gameplay is tripping. Don't you dare tell me you like tripping, because that's a ****ing lie, and if it's not then you're just thick in the head. It's not fun at all to random lose control of your character for X number of frames.

There's more where that came from, too.

And please don't use the "Who care's if it's slow, it's a new physics engine!?" bull**** excuse. That's like people LIKING the new slower Sonic games and making the excuse "It's just a new game!" Something being new is no excuse for it being worse in aspects that the previous titles had done better.

Also, please don't claim that all advanced techniques were glitches. They were merely exploits of what the physics engine allowed us to do in the game. So we can air dodge in whatever direction we want to? And if we airdodge into the ground at that angle we will slide? Oh, okay, let's use it. That's basically all it was =P The only reason we can't wavedash now is because of the new physics engine not allowing directional air-dodging.

Anyway, I'm done with what I had to say. I don't care to get into some stupid "OMGWAVEDASHINGISAGLITCH" debate here.. not in the Gay Smashers thread where that has no real place.

On a side note, Darkfur is now here in GA with me D: And when he goes home, he's gonna kidnap me and throw me in some random room with an Angelfox... Hopefully he leaves me some catnip, a ball of yarn, and perhaps a scratching post... this cat might want those if he's to stay there.

(If, for some reason you didn't understand that, Dark's now here in my state, and when he goes back, I'm going back with him to live with him, his boyfriend, and my boyfriend.)

Notice I didn't say all people who prefered Melee over Brawl were like that. I just said I hate the ones who use that as an excuse.

And I hate new Sonic games because they're slow. Why? Because they're Sonic. They're made for speed. Smash, however, was made for fighting. They were merely exploits in the physics engine, which weren't intentionally put there by Nintendo. That is what we call a glitch.

And you do realize that you just called AT's a glitch yourself, right?

Melee or Brawl, you ask? Can't say I have a preference. I do miss all the fast paced action that Melee had, but don't get me wrong, because Brawl can be fast paced too, just not AS fast I guess. So really, I guess it's if you're willing to make the transition or not, OR which you would rather play. I'm sure there are some people who play both, but for different reasons. *shrugs* All a matter of preference. Both are amazing games. And don't let people fool you, Brawl CAN be competitive too! Give it a chance, Melee-duders. So what if it doesn't have as many techs? Who the hell cares? Just play the **** game and have fun, lol. So ENOUGH about the comparison. There's like 80 million threads about that in general discussion.

(I'm running on 2 hours of sleep, don't mind me, lawlawlawl)

Getting back to the GAY matters at GAY hand... I'm totally in love with my friend that I've known for like 7 years... but he's on the other side of the country! WHYYYY SAKURAAAAAIII!? Er, I mean... Why, no-one-in-particular!? WHY?! I wish there were some dudes or A dude I was interested in that were closer. Ever have trouble finding a good guy to possibly get with? **** you, relationship compatibility. :p I'm sure some people have a harder time than others just because of where they are. I'm in Redmond, which close to Seattle. There's a pretty large gay community here, and I know lots of gay people. But... I don't like any of them for like, boyfriend material. :I

Well, that's not entirely true. I dated this one guy for a few months and it was great... until he dumped me for the stupidest reason EVAR. He said he felt like he was holding me back from doing what I wanted or could do in the future to come (since I'm in school and he's not), and that is probably true, except for the fact that he has a GOOD career. I was happy where I was... but I guess I wasn't giving him what he really wanted in a relationship? Who knows, but I've had similar experiences to this too many times that I'm not even trying to find anyone anymore. What's the point? When/if I get another boyfriend soon, it's not going to be because I was pursuing that path. It's going to be because we just so happen to start liking each other a lot and both single... But if the friend I mentioned earlier were closer... Oh MAN I'd be all over him though. >>;;

Look it doesn't matter if they were exploits, they increased the strategic depth of the game, which is a good thing.

The nice thing about melee is that people could play on a very basic level, and just play it as a party game...

But if you got down the technical stuff, it became an extremely deep and interesting game.

By removing wavedashing and other ATs they decreased that depth, which I'm disapointed in, ATs that were pass/fail exempted because, let's face it, you always get an advantage for L-canceling, you always get a disadvantage for failing it. There's no strategic application to failing, it's just something you always do.

ATs are good things.

Guys, I'm so excited and nervous! My boyfriend and I are going to the prom together tonight. We've already got our tuxedos and rented a limo. The only thing I'm worried about is that my school isn't very gay friendly. I'd say about 75% of the student body is against homosexuality. Heck, we needed to get permission to go together as a couple. I'm not worried about our safety because I know if someone tries to start something one of the shaperones will step in and stop it, but I just want to be able to enjoy myself. I want to be able to dance and have fun like everyone else without getting weird looks.

Does anyone have any advice, or maybe some prom related stories that'll cheer me up? lol

Spot on. There's a reason why I haven't set foot in General Brawl Discussion in a month. I'd love it if this didn't turn into a big "Melee vs Brawl blahblah". And furthermore, if you made a thread saying "Melee vs Brawl" and posted your post, it'd be closed in a tick. So, maybe you don't have to bring it in here. All of this Melee vs. Brawl riffraff and arguing has been done over and over, and I'd hope I'm not the only one who's tired of it.

Does anyone have any advice, or maybe some prom related stories that'll cheer me up? lol
Heh, if your school is so against homosexuality like you say, you can't really stop weird looks and stink eyes. Can't really change people's minds just like that. If I were in your shoes, I'd just say 'screw 'em'. Spend time with your boy and your friends that support y'all, and just have a great time. There's always going to be dissenters. Don't let them rain on your parade.

All the gay guys at my high school just took girls to the prom and had fun, so I can't help you out. Gay PDA at our high school was non-existant. Mostly because none of the gay guys actually liked each other. Hahaha.

As for what Rock Man X was saying, I totally know what you mean. With the exception of my boyfriend, I've pretty much hated every other cute gay person I've met. If I think they're cool, I generally don't find them attractive. It's a vicious cycle. Let's just hope things stay strong with my current boyfriend. :)

Also, I guess my boyfriend convinced me to go to Pride with him down in Vegas. I'm sort of scared to go... you know, it's like the icing on the top of my 'coming out of the closet' cake. I can only imagine fairies with rainbow flags everywhere and stuff... though I'm sure it's a lot more low-key than I'm imagining. And it'll be nice to hold hands with my boyfriend in public without being stared at or anything. So yeah. I'll take pictures for y'all.

Yeah, I lived in Vegas for my first 18 years and they're cool with it. If the event's on Fremont St. or The Strip most people won't even notice (they've always got crap goin on downtown). If you're looking for a good time, Xsyven, the Adventuredome at Circus Circus can't be beat. Just avoid the buffet there. After I'm through with the semester, I'm so going back to Vegas for a couple weeks. Tis a fun place.

Junior Prom was yesterday for my school... I didn't go... I'm only going to Senior Prom... even if I did go it would of been with friends, it'll probably be that way next year too anyway. ^^; But if I did have a boyfriend I'd probably have to just ignore the looks and just have fun... though I don't know why I'd get looks since I know I'm not very... touchy... not in public anyway, grrrr those couples that just stop in the hallway to kiss get on my nerves... they're all "OMG let's hold hands and stroll to class... lalalalala... oh look at the walls they are soooooo pretty... oh hey let's wave to my friends... *kiss*" and I'm all "They're people behind you tryin to get to class! >=O"... uhhh... I dunno how I ended up talking about that, but I guess I need to rant about something everyday. ^^;

I love that scene, it's one of my favorites in the game. X3

Guess I basically walked straight into that when I registered and thought "hey! I'm gonna use the Japanese word for 'peach' and put a couple of asterisks and designs around it to make it look pretty!!!11one =D ". @_@;
But at least I get a title that rhymes! =D *shot*

That's why I lived in Henderson, the ginormous suburb of Vegas. I only ventured to The Strip when I wanted to have some fun. But in Henderson it was all quiet with big parks and what have ya. You know, like every other place in this country, except nobody ever seems to think of this place past that **** stretch of road. Visit Sunset Park while you're here, too. It's one of the largest in the country. Plus, you'll see what us real Vegans do for fun. Don't forget about the Liberache Museum, too. Apparently we're all obligated to visit it by our nature. :p

But on a different note, I think I may feel a song coming on:

Oooooh Momo
A smash-playing homo
Some people dunno
He likes a guy named Joe
Sags his pants real low
Is allergic to crow
Says no to crack and blow

Oooooh Momo
Wooooaooooaoo
Wooooaooooaoo

When he walks real slow
I should let you know
He once broke a toe
And I used up all the good rhymes eight lines agoooooooo......

but there's something that bother me about that scene. it doesnt bother me that would make the Tea...no...What bothers is that she able to make it out of thin air!!! O___o hilarious scene though

How is it terrible? I think it's kickass.
I was looking at the negative side of it...but if Momo's fine with it then never mind (^^)v

Diabetic, I've been to the Liberache museum. I went for a high school field trip, actually. My teacher just wanted an excuse to go to Vegas and get In-n-Out during school. Hahaha.

Honestly, I thought it at first too. But I learned after once or twice.

My excuse was this!

MOMO from Xenosaga I:

MOMO from Xenosaga II:

And one of the key characters in the game constantly calls her "My Peche" or "My Peach"

I didn't know Momo meant Peach in Japanese, so now things make much more sense. =p
