Newbie players and apparently there's a demand for ludicrously small games.
I happen to be one of the people who enjoy ludicrously small games (which may seem strange given how little time I've spent in the mini thread). I'm just curious what the point in waiting for the queue is there, rather than just making a thread like everyone else is going to do now? What's stopping someone from opening sign-ups for a 7-player game right now rather than waiting for their turn in that queue? Is there a minimum player amount for "regular" games?

It gives structure to it and provides a highlighted place to direct new players to. Mini queue is absolutely ****ing wonderful for new players and losing it as a focal point would be a crime.

Plus, it means that there's a newbie game available. I remember before we had the newbie queue, newbie games were a lot more sparse, and frequently there wouldn't be one to sign up for.

"My setup is done running? Cool time to break the queue so I can do another as fast as possible."

#Ryker2014

No seriously though thank god. I can run my setup BEFORE I forget why I ever made it in the first place.

I'll have thread up in a bit probably, I just shot at a line at @ #HBC | Laundry #HBC | Laundry to see his thoughts on the balance and the layout of the game. As it stands at this moment it shall be a 14-Player game.

I will host House of Cards mafia soon but definitely starting it after Chaco has started his game. 12 players, semi-open setup.

Hmm, I still wanted to do my Upick kinda-utricked all PR game, no min of 11 max is unlimited.

Gonna wait for the right time for this one though.

Interesting... I'm certainly happy to not wait another year before I can host a non-mini, but I'm also somewhat concerned about oversaturation. I guess we'll see how it pans out. I definitely have a few game ideas I'd love to run.

I'm assuming hosts are allowed to run minis that aren't part of the newbie queue, should they so choose?

Also I'll be taking sign ups for:

Rake's Ridiculous Role Mafia: Alien vs Predator Edition

It is a 13 man game.

In advance of marshy telling me I'm crazy and my game is too, I'm going to try to ramp up sign ups and get this up and running so it doesn't lul about.

Just a fair warning this game is pretty swingy and there are a lot of newly created / not seen roles in it as well as some role mechanics that may cause temporary insanity. I think it'll be a lot of fun though and I'm going to try my best to make some cool flavor to enjoy with the craziness.

So if your interested I guess mention so here or via convo and I'll make the thread after work.

Hentai Mafia 3 is up.

Personally, I don't like the run it whenever thing. The queue was implemented in the first place due to multiple games stagnating due to too many games at once.

Initially it was two large and one small being ran at once, iirc.

We don't have the playerbase to support that.

This whole 'run whenever' thing is going to require people use their heads.

If there are 4 games ongoing, maybe wait a little bit before you throw your thread up.

Yea it's pretty much just common sense. If there's a ton of games going on, just wait for one to finish. This thread can easily be used to make a sort of informal queue as people state their interest in hosting games.

"Hey, I'm gonna host when one of these games ends."

"aw man, I was gonna run my X setup next."

"Oh man, that sounds awesome, you go next."

"It's cool, I'll just wait for the next one."

See? Look how civil we are inside my head.

I put the thread up so people could sign up at their leisure. I don't expect it to fill for a while, truthfully. That's why I've taken my time putting it up and together.

Well that's yet to be seen but I'm open to the idea and think it could work if everyone uses common sense. We shall see!!~

Mostly, the deletion of a formal queue needs to put a stop to the people who host games just to host games. Don't host if you're not actively trying to improve at it and enjoy the job.
