Hoping for a modkill would be hoping people would be pushed to stay active in fear of modkills (and so a lynch wouldn't have to be wasted on them). Not that he's hoping for people to be inactive so they can die

>_>

The fact that you interpreted that as something completely opposite of its meaning scares me, Chibo.

im going to go ahead and say right now that the language should be as civil as possible moving to and from and in the general direction of kevinm and mini mic. we can have a perfectly good game without any of this escalating. and if you were just trying to be playful... im sorry but sarcasm is meh and this has happened before.

@kevinm, hilt: we can actually respond to what mini mic said instead of provoking him.

what do you think holds more value: that chibo made a post from a non-mafia perspective, or that he mentioned another con- against pr claiming that i didnt? and for the first one, don't you think that's a little too townie?
I think you don't have to play mom, it's obvious Mini knows when I'm being serious and when I'm just joking around with him.

It wasn't even sarcasm as much as blatantly hinting at our past.

Sorry won't do it again though, wouldn't want to be grounded.

hmmmm kevin are you really town
*rolls eyes gif*

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Anyways, lets vote Hilt.

Ummm... question time?

1. Who would you like to hear the most out of right now?
2. Any specific plan of action according to the set up?
3. Is Mini Mic dead yet? lol

Answering the ques on your own will is a super cool thing to do.

1. Omni
2. I can't really find an effective way to play this set up per se other than just scumhunting like normal (but we need a more active game to do that ). By this I mean like how Tom tried to devise a plan in the last LoD mafia to sort of play based on the setup.
3. Not yet :/

1. Omni and Steel
2. As far as I can tell, claiming at this point does almost nothing to benefit town. Should be played regularly, I don't think any tricks are going to work well this early in the game. Perhaps late game things will be different.
3. Nope not seeing a reason to kill him off yet :p

Gonna get some sleep so I'll be off for a good portion of the afternoon. I'll be back later tonight.

Omni you can't expect the game to get active in response to you complaining about it. For someone that hates inactivity and prays that the game keeps running smooth, you're not doing much to actually stir conversation.

im normally always the person to stir conversation. dont want to fall into the habit of being the only person who gets us out of the RVS every game nor do i always have an idea to completely rid us of it

your logic is fine but your reasoning for voting is poopy imo. conveniently it does start somewhat of a wagon since i now have 3 votes on me

@chibo:
1.) no one in particular. there's not much to talk about at the moment.
2.) scumhunt and play regularly
3.) huh

we have a lot of strong people so it doesnt look like i need to worry about lynching off useless people. we do need a focus and a topic of debate to give people reason to keep showing up. i think the reason why we're moving so slowly is because events that usually occur to stir up discussion isnt happening:

1.) someone does something dumb
2.) someone does something scummy
3.) someone gives a good strategy to approaching a game outside of regular scumhunting
4.) someone attempts to meta and/or claim

chibo, if u want to get us out of the rvs stage try asking questions that actually achieve something. i cant nail you too hard tho cuz ur actually attempting to move out so in that manner of speaking ur fine

I'm not too good at being the first person to sort of jump us out of RVS, I don't know exactly what questions to ask. Normal ques like "who do you find scummy" and stuff make no sense since there's like no content in this game so far, and general questions won't help too much as we've all played mafia with each other plenty of times.

I'm not interested in starting a wagon at the moment, Omni, don't get me wrong. Wasn't really much more than a pressure vote and a way to get some conversation going. CK and Mini Mic's votes on you were jokes, and CK has been inactive since then. They'll probably end up unvoting when they realize we're out of RVS. But yeah, if somehow you're put at L-1, I'll unvote.

Be back in about an hour or so, don't have time to post much now

Definitely not worried about a being put at L-1. In any case, I wanna' see a flip.

If we can't decide on a route to move in after a few days, I say we just lynch whomever is the most inactive and call it a Day.

Don't like your conversation with Chibo, something about it doesn't scream TvT.

Then again this could be because I believe Chibo to be scum.

But who am I.

To be fair Kevin, them speaking probably makes them look more scummy simply because they're posting anything. At the moment everyone appears to be playing it pretty safe.

CK, any thoughts on how me might tackle this given we know the roles?

§teel do you have any real suspects

omni... why would you care if you are the guy to regularly get us out of the rvs. it isnt always you, thats an exaggeration, and i find it hard to believe you actually avoided trying to get out of the rvs in favor of working your meta. that whole post looks weird. if you think chibo didnt ask the right questions then why dont you ask the right ones?

kevin why dont you like the omni v chibo and if you had to choose a scum in them why would you choose chibo.

Chose Chibo because I didn't like the answer to his own number 2, I already stated that.

Omni just posted like an idiot.

Get your finger off me and somewhere actually worthwhile.

Good to see you're actually playing now and not just trying to play mafia mom though.

The first part is an odd sort of defense of the two of them, not particularly sure why you would speak for them.

The second one is basically an attempt at rehashing Chibo's question 2 which begs the question are you simply skimming because you don't have to look for scumtells being mafia and all, or are you just not looking.

what is wrong with chibos 2? hes right that a semi-open setup makes tackling the game with a gameplan harder than like last game. hilt, omni said similar things, why didnt you jump on them? you jumped on mini for it just now. or are you mad that chibo answered his own question before other people could? either way i dont get your point. youre picking and choosing.

by the way, the phrase "to beg the question" doesnt mean to raise the question. "to beg the question" means you work from an assumption to find a conclusion when you have no evidence for the assumption. its basically starting from opinion and then moving to fact based on that opinion.

semantics sure are a good way to feign activity.

Chibo's 2 is the fact that he answered the question before anyone else did, basically shaping other peoples answers.

In otherwords it was just asking the question for the sake of asking it, it didn't really look like he was looking for an answer by answering it first with what he obviously believes to be the right answer.

And I would stand by the fact that begging the question is a good term to use there considering I'm making the assumption he's scum off my opinion of why he would say those things.

But then again you might have more semantics to talk about rather then the game.

You haven't done much today, please make me think you're town.

So lurking/inactivity is playing it safe?

@Tom: At the time I was considering putting a vote on CK, as he hasn't said anything after his first post, but considering he should be getting prodded soon, I'll wait and see if he steps up after that. And I really don't like how Steel's shown up once (outside of RVS) but didn't put forth any effort to show that he cared about the game. Not particularly scummy, just not being helpful whatsoever. So I guess it was just my attention shifting too quickly to CK/Steel lol

Not seeing Kevin's reasoning for chibo.

It wasn't a strange defense, it's true. There hasn't been much discussion yet so of course you're going to look into what little there has been. I don't think you actually suspect me as much as you're just trying to get the ball rolling.

And I read Chibo's post, I thought it might be worth asking CK directly. Eric's generally pretty good at mafia so I was interested to see what he thought as well as trying to get him active. I feel there's a better chance of finding his opinion by asking him directly than by simply throwing a question out to anyone interested.

His questions for the most part were pointless. We had pretty much already decided on just playing the game regularly and not trying anything fancy. And question three was a joke question. So basically he was just asking for our opinions on who we want to hear more from. I think his wording was weird. From the way he asked it I would normally expect a CK/Mini Mic/Steel answer, as they've been the least inactive. And he didn't word the question as if he were asking of people's suspicions.

@Mini Mic, lurking is not playing it safe if you've done it since the very beginning of the game. CK's made one post all game, that's not playing it safe, that's asking for attention. Steel came in here after forgetting about the game and made a joke post and did nothing to show that he cared about being an active part of the game. That's not playing it safe, it's purposefully attracting suspicion.

you're just being argumentative now

if someone else knew a way to jumpstart the game, they would have mentioned it even if he said he didnt know a way. so saying he ruined the question by providing his own answer is bogus.

begging the question isnt the correct term to use there, so youre just wrong about that. its just a grammatical error, and i just pointed it out because its nice to use phrases correctly. you dont need to keep arguing that its used right there when its not. and just because i bring it up doesnt mean all im talking is semantics, thats an unfair oversimplification.

so who would you lynch if you had to choose right now? it kinda feels like youre commenting on everyone but leaning to no one.

and what do you think about steel.

K, so I realized I cannot play Mafia from Monday - Thursday (after work Thursday). I get home about 6, and I have to be asleep by 10PM, so adding in a shower and eating, and I have no
time.

I will do big posting on weekends, but yeah, weekdays (especially this week) I'll be inactive. I may read on my phone when I get time, but posting on it (am now) is a *****.

@Kevin - So this whole scumtell you've got on me is because I answered my own question? What? I simply answered it to not be hypocritical. I asked something (even if they weren't THAT full of content which I already touched on with Omni), and the game will only move from those questions if there are answers. I said everyone was free to answer them, and I did so myself. What's the big deal with who answers it first?

@Mini Mic - My original vote on you was semi random and semi pressure since I've never played with you before I wanted to see how you would respond to it so early. However now that you're trying to say that lying low is just playing defensive as compared to like... idk, not helping out? Coupled with the fact that you're in the bottom 3 posts in the game so far makes me question why you would say this. Defending yourself before someone calls you out for shaky activity? Protecting Steel or CK maybe?

@Hilt - Care to tell me where we decided to play the game normally? The only thing we touched on is Kevin's wondering if the PRs should claim, nothing else as been said.

We definitely decided to play the game normally. Besides PRs claiming, there's nothing else that would mean the opposite of scum hunting. So what do you mean with that stance vs Hilt, Chibo?
