Yeah I knew about it. Hobo is the 12th. If you can choose go to the Hobo on the 12th. I'll be there and I can teach you alot more. I remember what you look like.

Final Match from a party/tournament we had. Me vs. my frustratingly perpetually superior roommate.

There are a few silly moments in this video, but it's the most recent recording I have of myself in a competitive environment.

ADVICE PLZ
That was a pretty solid Sonic, they definitely have a good idea of what they are doing.
Being a Sonic Main and a Pit Secondary, I find the best way to defeat Sonic (or greatly hinder him), is to out-space him or make him approach you and punish him.
He is a tricky character to play if you don't have experience against him, and the player knows what they are doing.

You both roll lots like, you fight eachother for a bit and then you bot kind of roll away from eachother and start again. It means aren't able to play as fluently as possible.

Are you defensive at all? I can't much about your pit because its your play style I see more.

You side step and roll too much. You shouldn't ever really roll into your opponent to get closer or to the other side. It easily punishable when you use range to your advantage. ex: snake punches 1x. you roll. snake utilts.
I'm starting to predict your side step to a grab because you do it multiple times in a row.
There's no pressure really, just rushing. You don't seem to use any mind games, ex: sidestep to a grab or sidestep to a 1/2 charged f-smash to punish his sidestepping.

You seem to easily predict your opponent though. Nice gimps and use of mirror shield.

Hmm well these have been up for a while with no critique. So i'll take a crack at em i guess.

Silver:
There arn't many real mistakes i can find in ur play style. But a few things are like...

Mostly what i think you might need to work on is how to deal with snakes explosives. I like your use of WoI for edge grenades. However i dont really suggest using a reflector to bounce grenades back. Especially AR which sometimes blows grenades up. Some snake players may use grenades just to distract you so you put up your reflector and then they approach you while your recovering from the lag. I like to either just let the grenade hit me or shield it and then throw it back or shoot an arrow to stop it mid flight.

You also took a beating from his C4. So i guess all i can say is try to keep a better eye on it. Especially on moving platforms.

As far as arrow spam. Its really up to you. Though i suggest not just standing in one spot and spamming. It tends to make you predictable when you spam and if you stay in one spot, it gives them the ability to plan since they know your just going to sit there. I personally dont like using arrows just for the sake of damage since they are rather weak. I like to use them during combos and what not to tack on a few extra percent, or defensively to prevent ground based chasing. Another use is to prevent them from using projectiles against you. However against snake his grenades come out so fast that it really doesnt make a difference since he plans to shield to drop them anyway for the most party.

A few things you could try:
-(Not saying that you do but) Dont spam any tactics throughout a match. Keep things mixed up.
-Wing Stalls to create a difference in pits movements .
-Glide shifting
-Use infinite jabs to punish spot dodging and comboing out of it. I like to use Fsmash for when they DI to you and stay close or AR when they DI away.
-Dont start spamming arrows if you are going to when they are at low%s. It kinda loses its point. I feel that low% is a great time to throw in combos since thats the only time they are going to happen. Also they will be less weary of your attacks at low percents and will approach more.

watch out when picking grenades up as well because if snake pops another one out you will drop it. Make sure to remember that when snake pulls out a second grenade the first one will lose all momentum

I use wingdashing to counter his grenades. When thrown WD to stop it from hitting you. And then throw out a second WD to push the grenade away from you. If snake does not pull out his second grenade the grenade will fly back towards him. If the scond is out the WD will push it far enough away on the ground for it not to do any damage.

Another thing you can do is if it is not a cooked grenade you can WD to pick it up and then buffer a glidetoss to throw the grenade back at him and retreat at the same time. This way the grenade is far out of harm and might actually blow up on snake and you are at a position where you can start camping snake

The old adage, "Don't get hit" is the only actual advice I can think of against the IC. Though in this case "Don't get grabbed" is more suitable. But really, there's not much you can do except practice against a very avid IC player to understand their mannerisms.

But onward to actually useful advice, you had it on the second stock. If the IC player is going to exclusively use his/her/their trump card, fight fire with fire with yours. Which in Pit's case is the ledge game. Though the IC still have the advantage you can keep out of their arm's reach and maybe get them off the edge if they fall into a punishable pattern.

Another thing to learn is Smash DI. Insanely hard to use in the proper situations, but when playing with Pit on the edge it can help a lot. Many of the meteors that you can get nailed by including the IC Fair can be Smash DIed into the stage wall and teched. Though this is very difficult to get down consistently. So much so that you'll rarely even see it in high level play.

yeah IC's are not fun to deal with at all. But Undr had it right man. Don't get grabbed. And i know it sucks because one mistake can cost you a stock against an IC player but you just have to get used to it. Get used to their approaches and how they set things up and know when to stay away.

I like to work the ledge game if at all possible. Bait them over to you and then drop to the ledge and start trying to seperate them. But often times they won't get that close so work your jumps around them with some Dair's to try and get them airbourne where you can just beat them silly.

My usual strategy against them is to just camp it out. Weaken their shields a bit with arrows on their approach. When they get in close i work the jabs a lot. SHfair's into buffered Dtillts are also a good tool to use which I saw you doing.

Just remember to space everything out because we outreach them. Do not get shield grabbed ever and do not use Pit's laggy attacks. Make sure everything is quick and that you gain immediate control after your attack. Just be cautious and space perfectly and you should be ok

eww at that falco, but all in all you have great control with your pit.

Wifi pits seem to do alot better in control for some odd reason. Well I did alot better than I thought and learned from it.
Uhm, I play in offline-tourneys and play wifi sometimes for fun. So it's not really a wifi pit. xP Thanks anyway. o:
