Alright, I've removed CY and Popertop from the preregistration, (I'm sorry you can't make this; it's really going to be beast.) and I'm adding Winnar's brother. Someone else preregistered through AiB, that leaves us with a total of 95 preregistrations. Not bad at all.

Pools will be up as soon as possible. I'm going to do a lot of it today, but there's going to be a new La. PR in the next couple of days, so a few spots are going to wait on that. Whenever I post pools, I really need people from OOS to take a look and make sure they look fair. It'll be easy enough to separate by location, but I don't have much of an idea about the relative skill levels, especially between states.

Bomber, you don't need to do that. It only takes a minute, and I really only need to put the teams and those who make the bracket into tio. Thanks, though!

Curlz, a game of laser tag is around $5, but they have packages and stuff that cut the cost a bit. Their arcade is pretty cool: probably the best public Pump It Up machine in the state.

EDIT
I decided to spread the payouts out a bit more. The TOP 6 placings will get some money. The new payouts are as follows:

1st - 50%
2nd - 25%
3rd - 15%
4th - 5%
5th - 2.5%

The final amounts will be rounded for ease of distribution, but these are the percents that they'll be based upon.

That's cool :D

Though I still doubt I'll be in the money, especially if I go...

...ALL FALCON *WHATCHOW*

I'm thinking about taking Falcon money matches though (I be Falcon, you be whoever I guess). I'm still thinking about it D:

Oh, by the way I'm looking for a third Falcon to participate in the FALCON CHALLENGE.

It's similar to the bowser challenge from melee.

Three Falcons on one team with friendly fire OFF vs one poor victim. Four stocks. Battlefield.

The goal is for the victim to take off as many stocks as possible before losing.

The two Falcons we have so far are myself and Reflex. We need a third Falcon but I don't really know who's good. Being loud is an acceptable substitute for skill with Falcon.

RJPunch? He plays Falcon.

And I will be your victim, sounds pretty fun. I'll go Pokemon Trainer.

Okay so if Lee or RJPunch wants to do it then we have our third Falcon. Also yay victims! :D

Oh also I forgot to mention I'm bringing my laptop and capture card. If there is internet at this venue then we can totally create a live stream. I think. I've never done it before so I don't know how it works.

So what happens if someone beats the challenge or does the best? do they get like a CF helmet or something?

Well normally you get bragging rights.

I dunno, possibly the title of

FALCON CHALLENGE CHAMPION

How's that?

Also no one beats the falcon challenge.

Well when we tried it at Game Galaxy the average was 2-3 stocks, with some fluctuation. Some people didn't get one stock (completely combo'd like crazy) and others were doing a really good job of keeping us separated. Also DanGR planked us but with 3 falcons planking doesn't really work as well. I think he got 5 stocks so he didn't do too bad.

Kalm got the most with 7 but I'm reluctant to include that because about 4 or 5 were SD's. It was the first time we tried it and we kept going for suicide knees XD

That's funny. It really does sound like fun. I will just have to watch my back or have it blown up from a sweet spotted knee lol. Also, if there is time, I want to fight you. There's too many people I want to fight in one day -_-

I know what you mean. I'll probably be playing smash nonstop trying to get as many friendlies with as many people as I can.

Between tourney matches (all ABOARD THE FALCON TRAIN WHOO WHOO ), Falcon challenge, friendlies with various people, and possibly taking money matches...this is going to be a crazy tournament.

Crazy AWESOME, that is.

I'm still debating on going all falcon in teams, it depends on who I do doubles with. If I do doubles with Moogle then I'll let him decide. If I team with someone else...well, I guess I'll have to play it by ear then too. I mean for Singles it's like "Well it's your funeral" but I don't want someone else to feel like their chances at money/placings are being put in jeopardy by my being Falcon. It just feels kind of selfish then, I dunno. Maybe once I prove that I can be beast as Falcon in doubles then people will feel more comfortable teaming with me as Falcon. Maybe :o

Most likely I won't be doing doubles since I don't have a partner. If I can't get one at LasT then I'll take your challenge, if there is an open or unused TV, otherwise I would like to get it before doubles while everyone is settling in with set ups and friendlies. Then I'll be running pools for Randal.

I'll attempt the Falcon Challenge and I say if anyone is able to actually complete it, i think each Facon player should give the winner $3 or so.

Laser Tag sounds really fun. I say we get a group just to go play a few times. :D

Can I bring a guitar hero setup? I have a friend who wants to watch but she might get bored of watching us play smash so she was wondering if she could bring Guitar Hero.

Yeah, Guitar Hero is a bad idea. You can leave it in the car, and maybe there'll be room later. I want Brawl to stay on all of the TVs until we finish the first round or two of brackets.
----------------------
Here's my FIRST version of pools. They are not final and are subject to change A LOT. The reason I'm posting them now is so I can get feedback on the skill distribution. It'd be awesome if people could tell me if there are any "hard" or "easy" pools and tell me who in the pool makes it hard. I know enough not to put Lee, KOS-MOS, Kismet, and Reflex all in the same pool, but I'm not terribly knowledgeable of the skill outside of Louisiana.

We're also working on a new La. power ranking, so I placed people based upon the current PR and based what I think the new list will look like. In the end, I'm looking for the pools to have a fairly equal distribution of skill while separating players based on location.

Again, these are preliminary and are bound to have mistakes, probably even a big one or two. At this point, it'd be fastest/ easiest to have other players take a look and help me out.

Thanks for the help!

Sweet. I get Bre and Hyro. I guess I will get that match with him after all :)

lol at Red and Link being in the same pool.

I don't have much of a problem. Bre and Hyro give me some problems but that's on my own skill. Hyro as far as I know is maybe one of the best/high ranking guy in my pool. I can only assume there is one more that could match his skill or come close to it. Otherwise, I think this is fine. As for Bre, he's fine, I'd give him a high-mid skill level so I don't care. I think it will be up to the other guys in my pool to say if they are to much.

I hear that kismet2 guy is pretty good...

I split up Redson and Link. I didn't know they had played together all that much, since I imagine they've only had the chance at Gameware.

well for now all I know is that Kismet and Hyro make state power rankings, Bre just from experience I know is good. For right now, I'm going to do some research and see if any of the guys in my pool make their state power ranking, which I just checked and theres only like 3 guys from Oos. So it won't be much of a problem.

Ok, I'm done checking from the TX, and FL power rankings, no one else was on there so, I think things are ok with my pool until they get edited.

Bwett is really freakin good too.

I would be worried having those three players in my pool
good thing there is still room for error. I was actually kinda wondering about that. Call it instinct but I have a gut feeling that I got some pretty good guys in my pool which is cool. What can you tell me about Bwett, Popertop? is like a high-mid ranking guy when it comes to tournaments?

A word of advice.

Anything below top 5 in our Power Rankings is unranked in any other state. ^_^

He's amazing.

He doesn't place as high as he should 'cause Yoshi gets gayed, but he's certianly a high caliber player.

Also, who's Biglou?

And how many people are making it out?

Top four? Top six?

Anyone with a name like Bwett has to be a badass of epic proportions. I mean, his name is BWETT. It just kinda rolls off the tounge, y'know?

There's 8 pools. I'm guessing it's going to be at least top 6. I kind of want top 7, but it's up to Randall and whether he thinks we have enough time for 56 people.

Bwett, Hyro and Kismet will without a doubt make it. Now it will be up to the other 7 contestants including myself to fill in those last remaining places.
