Man, Ken and I never got along (the one time we talked)...I owe him ten dollars...

So I'm really surprised at how similar we are!?

I'm also an Illustration Major, who dreams of doing card art for MTG. That really can't be too common of a scenario. Maybe someday I'll run into him around WoTC and give him that ten dollars.

Eh, Ken seems kind of like a savant to me >.> Great at Smash (scratch that, amazing at Smash), not so much in other areas. I dunno, I personally wouldn't like to hang around someone who "knows" he's better than me and always will be. Still, it takes that kind of personality to create such a lasting legacy such as his.

And he's changing his name to Nekromancer? Nekromancer? Are you serious? o.o The reason Ken stuck so well was because he doesn't rely on flashy names; it's just Ken, and it's just about the game.

About Brawl, though, I doubt he'll lie low once it comes out. From what I've seen/heard of him, he's not one to back down from going for number one in two smash games. Who knows, though? Only time will tell. </cliche'd lines>

What's with people "retiring" and still going to tournaments? Smash is a hobby, not a career. If you go to tournaments, you aren't retired.

Firstly...he's not putting Smash before his schoolin'...he's retiring to focus on his school and other parts of his life. Also, as he mentioned, Smash paid for his school. Secondly, yeah, you can retire and still go to tournaments. He is retiring as a pro smasher, aka somebody who makes money smashing. If he stops practicing and rarely goes to tourneys he prolly won't be winning very much money at the ones he does attend. Lastly, and this is important, maybe he is not incredulously humble, but at least he is good enough to deserve the praise he gives himself.

Now why should I waste my valuable time watching a person I can beat ten times over while I could be perfecting my own tricks of the trade hmmm? And FYI: Watching that Falcon master, G-Regulate's vids are much more entertaining than watching and studying Ken's.

Ken doesn't really come off as cocky. He shows much love for other pros, and even states that there are no bad smashers, practically everyone is good at this game. When he says he will always be the King of Smash, I don't think he means that he can't be beat, but rather that his LEGACY is something that can't be taken from him, which is truth, not cockyness.
