Confirmation: SSBB(primarily) and Melee and '64 Open to all who wish to come to my house's basement: 12611 w. 81st Terrace Lenexa KS 66215. Bring wii's as none are provided.
Due to the fact that nobody ever shows up on time except one person I'm moving the official start time to 5:30, which gives me a lot more leniency to drive home (maybe stop and eat) from my class that ends at 3:50 in Lawrence. Everyone is still out by 11:00.

Also, I have doubts about returning to JCCC's game club. There's a few reasons. All the big JCCC-club officers who used to have a strong affiliation and interest for Smash (Myself, Stealth, Ducker) Have all lost or forfeited their power reigns within the club at this point (We aren't students there anymore and Ducker well yeah... not going there). The new people in charge are a lot less welcoming of outsiders and many of us share a resentment towards the club and wish for it to just be stupid and fail.
Also, it seems that the Melee scene doesn't need the JCCC Venue anymore, they have their own places and are running fine. The Gutierrez brothers have passed on white ships to the West and will not be seen in the realm of Middle Coast any longer, that severely cripples the number of players who -would- come (they were also Tanook's ride y'know) and if there's not enough anyway then why bother.
So, the situation is not looking good for the JCCC Game Interest Group club being what it once was. The ONLY thing I think we'll miss would be access to the college conference hall venues and the possibility for hosting region-scale tournaments virtually cost-free. However... as far as tournaments go... I hear the rumour that Garrett might actually get his old position back, and since he's the only one in the club who actually gets things done there's a strong chance we'll be able to set up one of our infamously high-success tourneys yet again. My fingers are crossed for that.

Being able to host large scale events is a big deal imo. Hopefully the thing that fino set up with collectors cache works out. But if it doesn't, KC loses about all chances of being taken seriously. I think that hosting tournaments is an important part of building the smash community. It draws in people from neighboring states and gives us a large pool of players for a few days. And what people see can influence who joins the KC smash scene. Hell, if KC hosted a good number of large scale tournaments, then I woulda gotten into this 3 years ago and I'm sure that there are a ton of others out there like me.

Funny story. I FINALLY was given clearance for Tuesday night off so I can start playing with you guys. Only I found out today that smashfests are now on Monday. I might now dedicate Monday to you guys, because I had it off from already to go to class at KU's Edwards campus, and reserve Tuesday to develop the Lawrence Brawl scene.
Edit: That being said, I'll be seeing you guys next Monday for like an hour before my class starts at 7. If we moved it to early, I can play longer, but don't change things up for me

Noooooo... Well, if anyone wants to hit Lawrence this Monday, my apartment's 40 inch tv is available. I could get two or three setups going assuming someone brought a tv and two wii's because one of mine is broke, but it's a pretty small place. I actually don't have class this Monday, so it's a good time for me to play
