They lost me on not thinking king k rool will get and exspecial they think mewtwo is not making it all because of the triple final smash problem (mega evolutions) they are the same thing but all of they're all 100% different moves thus making them different final smashes

But the Kremlings's appearance in Smash Run is what makes me suspicious. It shows that Sakurai hasn't forgotten about the Kremlings, which in turns, makes me feel that King K. Rool was at least seriously considered for playable status. That's not to say he's in, but he's certainly a contender.

as I was pointing out in the Pac-Man's thread (about another theory, anyway),... I get more intrigued how the Kritters were literally the first enemies to appear in the first seconds of footage from Smash Run... and then, got in evidence all the time; ... They were more frequent in the camera,... even more quantity and variety than other enemies (even more than Zelda, Kid Icarus and Mario enemies... whose was shown just one type of each enemy [besides the Giant Goomba].. I mean, this all before the screenshots in the press kit). ... I dunno if NAMCO wanted to say "hey, look, the Kremlings are back!" just in general... but certainly this hints much more than just DK getting his past common enemies.

Those Kritters are using what appears to be their model from Sluggers, or at least a new model that's very similar. There may be merit to your Namco theory.

Keep in mind that Smash is not Congress and that we needed to add Diddy Kong before K. Rool has a shot. K. Rool didn't really have a chance in Melee and Brawl due to Diddy Kong receiving priority in Brawl and in the former case, flat-out not appearing. This is the first time K. Rool has a chance of getting in.

Also, just because Falco and Lucas appeared before K. Rool doesn't make them undeserving.

I have a really good feeling about K. Rool right now. Let's see what happens in the next few months, but it still strikes me as odd that no villains have been announced for the game yet.

It happened because there's no real reason to what Sakurai does. Besides Pokemon, Zelda, and besides Mario, I'd say the character count from other franchises is up in the air. Even more so now that there are less obvious choices to pick from. Brawl added a lot of the choices most people would find obvious. Rosalina, Greninja, Wii Fit Trainer, and Villager are all pretty out there in my opinion. For various reasons, sure but still its goes to show where Sakurai's mind is at.

As unlikely as they are Black Shadow, Porky and maybe King Boo but I'm not sure if he would be a heavy weight.

That or he thinks Dedede is the "comical" heavyweight. These are some inane theories, but K. Rool's chances are climbing by the day.

Apparently, according to the logic of some in the Rumours and Leaks thread, Chorus Men from Rhythm Heaven > the villain that created one of Nintendo's main franchises, and another villain that fans have been wanting in the game for over a decade now. Obscure, but yes, these people do exist, and that's their opinion I guess.

Those people aside, I am still fairly convinced something is brewing for King K. Rool.

If you ask me, K. Rool's chances have skyrocketed with the Kritters being in Smash Run. They could have easily shown more Tikis or the Snowmads, but the fact that they're using villains who haven't been in action for years gives a lot of hope to K. Rool.

I wouldn't really call Little Mac the most requested. Top five, definitely. Ridley was definitely a lot more popular than him, though, as were Mewtwo and Mega Man. He was probably more popular than K. Rool, though K. Rool has support pretty much worldwide, which Ridley and Little Mac don't have.

I guess as far as the GameXplain discussion goes, their opinions going against K. Rool doesn't really bother me that much. It's really just a set of opinions and whether you feel those opinion are valid or not, it's more or less what they are and they didn't seem to be going out of their way to try to offend people about their opinions compared to other youtube personalities I could probably name.

As far as K Rool himself is concerned, I file him currently under possible-neutral range currently as much as I still want him in and only the appearance of the Kritters has pushed to him to that point. The only reason I don't put him in a higher catagory is that the Kritters could possibly just be the enemy choice they went with and may not be necessarily be a reference to Rool himself. It will be interesting to see what plays out or what other hints appear in the meantime.

I think the general impression this thread gave off was that GameXplain was absolutely moronic for their analysis of K. Rool. Personally, I don't find that to be the case, I just think it was a weak point in their video. @TheMasterDS was right in saying that it's silly for them to say it's reaching to predict K. Rool because of Kritters appearing for the first time in five years, but it's not reaching to predict Pacman because a cloud in Greninja's trailer looks like his face.

Also, after reading Rate their Chances this morning, I feel it is worth mentioning that, yes, Kritters appeared in Mario Strikers without K. Rool, but that this was their only appearance without him, ever. The odds are highly, highly in favor of K. Rool making at least some sort of appearance alongside them, hopefully as a character.

To be fair, it wasn't just their K. Rool analysis that was lacking. As I brought up in the character thread, they mentioned that ROB would most likely be cut while stating that Game and Watch was safe due to his history with Nintendo and unique moveset and visual style.... all of which would also apply to ROB.

When you say the "East," are you talking about Europe or Japan? They are both technically East...
If Europe: Not a lot of data is known. Apparently, they are interested in characters like Isaac, Layton, and Mewtwo. King K. Rool edges out Dixie Kong, but he isn't as requested as he is in the US.

The one thing I HATE about the Sluggers design is the lack of a tail. It really bothers me. Make's him look more like Wart from Mario 2 then a crocodile.

I think that's just Paon's redesign. He doesn't have a tail in Jungle Climber or any of their games.

I'm more or less satisfied with K. Rool's Paon design. A tail's no deal breaker for me. Just keep him fat and toothy and I'm golden.

I couldn't even tell you WHY him not having a tail bothers me as much as it does. I'm not even a huge K. Rool fan, but seeing him without a tail just looks so off!
