He doesn't wear a krown to throw it at people, he wears it because HE'S THE GODDAMN KING OF THE CROCODILE PIRATES, its utility as a throwing weapon is a happy coincidence. I'm fairly certain that he isn't wearing golden plate armor, but he simply gilded his belly because HE'S THE GODDAMN KING OF THE CROCODILE PIRATES.

I never cared for the golden gut either. I always thought it was part of his original design simply because Rare wanted to show off the shiny metal texture through the SNES' graphical capabilities. I don't care if it returns or not. With or without it, the character is still recognizable, and he's been without it long enough where I'm at the point where it doesn't look weird anymore.

If you remember everything I had said, you'd remember I thought K Rool was the ideal choice, but there was nothing pointing to his inclusion, and that everybody overrated his likelihood.
Now, I still want Dixie more personally.
But K Rool finally has something pointing to him. So I support him now, because I think he's not just possible, but is likely.
I really hope to see 2 DK Newcomers: K Rool and Dixie

On the topic of the golden belly, I think it would be nice if that added that in Smash, but K. Rool is recognizable without it. Personally, I always thought it was a cool design choice and it made him look more intimidating and it shows his wealth.

If it's been forgotten... I'd like to remind people here that I only came to this thread for concrete reasons to expect him to be playable, because I wanted to add him back onto my roster. (the 1st time)
I received a lot of hate comments back like I was an idiot for even doubting him.
And I wasn't just going to let that go, it was completely uncalled for. I just wanted to know why he was likely.

Now, he's likely, so of course I can support him now. I always thought he was the ideal pick for the moveset and for the fans. I just never saw it as likely.

I've never came here with a disrespectful comment. I've came here 3 times, each with a positive attitude. 2 out of 3 times I've been completely disrespected.
The 2nd time all I said was I support now and I think he is likely. All positive responses.
I promised myself I'd never come back here after the first time, I should have just kept that. Ugh.
Well I'm done here now.

But seriously, I don't get why you would want to disclude someone from your support thread because they used be a doubter or a hater. I think it's much more intimidating. But seeing a blend of the 2 in HD would also be something I'd be interested in seeing.

I have no idea what they were trying to accomplish with that. Did they just like the costume-switching he did in the DKC games and decide to make one of their own?

That's what I thought they were going for and I actually thought that was really cool because that's a really big part of his character that's been mostly ignored since the rare days. Even though I don't like the design itself.

As for K. Rool's gold plate I actually never noticed he had one until I saw people mention it in this thread, despite playing through DCK dozens of times. I gotta say it bugs me a lot but I'm not sure if that's just because I'm so used to not thinking it's there. K. Rool Rare vs. K. Rool Paon in general is a situation where I think the popularities would be to a great deal reversed if they had come out in a different order. If Paon had been first I think people would respond to the Rare design much like how people reacted to Bowser in melee(in other words not great). If you avoid comparing the two designs to eachother I think they both stand as good designs.

Speaking of which I'm thinking if K. Rool is in smash he'll be like the Paon design(with some alterations like maybe a tail) because it fits in more with the ascetic and the modernization they seem to going for with Smash4 especially with characters like Bowser and Yoshi. If he was in Brawl I would have expected his rare design more.

The fact that the golden belly may have originated from Rare's desire to show off its graphical capabilities, is actually pretty appealing to me. Like most designs, every aspect of it carries a small, but significant piece of history that shouldn't be altered because "it doesn't look right." Honestly I don't see how the golden plate is that awkward to deserve removal - it's just as much a part of K. Rool's design as his cape, eye and crown. If anything, it adds the coolest feature to that design, the idea that K. Rool is aware of his belly's weak spot and somehow created a metal plate for defensive purposes. That's hilarious and I don't care if it's unexplained.

I really don't have bias for Rare or Paon's design, as the first DKC game I played was Returns. But it's cut-and-dry in my view which is the superior design, and it's no coincidence it's the original.

This isn't directed at anyone specific but remember that the ultimate goal is for your characters you want in the game to be playable. The more support, the better. I don't get why people get so fed up with the people behind the characters. "I am a true ___ fan and I HATE bandwagoners, opposers, and anyone who has a different opinion about this character than I do!" Krool story bro, sit down.

A good example of this is with some Ridley supporters, they consider the worst thing to come about his possible confirmation as a stage hazard to be the fact that Ridley opposers' will think that they were right all along - that Ridley really was too big and whatnot, that supporters were stupid for even thinking he stood a chance. No... the worst thing is that Ridley isn't playable! You should support a character because of your desire to play as said character in the game, not because you have something to prove to others.

Why should those people even matter to you? Why lose sleep over random people on the internet you don't even know? I couldn't wrap my mind around it. So let's focus on something pertinent... like, I don't know.... discussing and supporting the actual characters themselves in a character discussion subforum, instead of bashing others.
