By the way, BKupa: we're rating stages in addition to characters on Rate Their Chances now. Gangplank Galleon is still near the bottom of the nominations list... there's no rule about swinging by just to nominate something. You could just abstain from the characters of the day.

I'm just passing through here for manifest my supporting about the character! 8D.. K.Rool is awesome, and sure Smash NEEDS him in the roster.. is like, a necessity, than anything.. I think we need more villains, we need more heavy characters, we do need more rep. for DK series (and, personally, bringing another Kong would be repetitive, imo), and he's a retro appealing character anyway (and, magically, a non-NES era character, which makes him more unique,.. since all the "retro fighters" from Smash, are most from NES and such).

well, that's it. I'm one more ally of Kremling Krew. 0/.. When Ganon return, and If Wolf return as well (I wish), and if people can have Ridley too, we'll have the ultimate line-up of Nintendo villains: Bowser, K.Rool, Dedede, Ridley, Ganondorf and Wolf!

Lol, I think it's because people want K. Rool in more than GP. I don't think people care as much about the stage as much as they do about him.

Yeah, I've been reconsidering my stance that K. Rool would die as a character if not included in this game. Retro isn't going to stay with the DK series forever, and recently, they've started grooming Monster Studios to take over for them down the road, based on Monster creating DKCR 3DS and helping with Tropical Freeze. Then, you have studios like Camelot talking about how great DK64 is and how they'd like the opportunity to make a sequel someday. Point being, eventually, there'll come a day when the company handling DK uses the Kremlings either out of fondness for them or out of a desire to not waste development time ripping off of them to create a new villain group, e.g. Tikis or Vikings.

Granted, K. Rool being in this Smash gives him an instant fastpass into the very next DK game, rather than a DK game years into the future once Retro's moved on to a less profitable franchise. As such, there's still a lot riding on this for him.

One of the major N-Directs that happen around every two months. As we go ahead into 2014, a Direct solely focused on Smash 4 will soon be inevitable. Maybe there.

Right. They haven't even touched on the customization features or anything, so I would have to agree. I also feel like they would reveal another newcomer in that specific direct.

If we look at it from a different perspective, if we get a newcomer every other month, we'll end up with like 10 newcomers by this time next year, but that's assuming we don't get any 2 for 1 directs.

It's up in the air, but I'm think we're getting at least 10 newcomers. So with at least 6 spots left, K.Rool still has a decent shot to get in.

On DKVine, it's being speculated that they were pulled so they could be rereleased on the Wii U to coincide with Tropical Freeze, kind of like that Mario All-Stars collection a while back. If that happens, just show a bit of K. Rool boss fight footage from the trilogy in the Direct, then follow it up with a K. Rool trailer for Smash. Works perfectly.

I think that, if K. Rool appear somehow in Tropical Freeze (as the Final Boss, preferentially =P), Sakurai should reveal him after a month or less of the release of the game.. you know, for don't spoil to much the suprise of DKC TF itself.

If is the case that he's not in the game, .. could be a ND, as people said here, or in a random update... far from the DKC TF release, for doesn't confuse people, makin the crowd thinking that K.Rool is somehow related with Tropical Freeze.

I think that Dixie (who I have confidence is most likely in the game) would be revealed long before K. Rool, to say nothing of Diddy in addition. They'll want to promote as much Tropical Freeze-related material as they can during the game's release window. K. Rool, if he's in the game, would be kept on the back burner for a much later reveal, perhaps in an E3 presentation with several newcomer reveals.

The problem is there's a direct and the game's release in the same month. If there was going to be a direct in March then we could assume Diddy will be announced for Tropical Freeze and then a newcomer could be revealed the following month.

Diddy is a veteran and will be announced on the site like everyone else. The only veteran reveals featured on Directs have been Luigi and Sonic, Luigi because the year of Luigi and Sonic because he's still such a big deal

Not necessarily, anything could happen. I would be disheartened if that happened, but I wouldn't give up on the notion of a DK newcomer.
