Had a lot of fun, we were pretty even at the beginning but then ya.

That Dedede did work tho, 2 stocks of Peach and 2 off Snake, good show.

You should pick him up, it could help you with your Wolf problem :troll:

Bryan lost to multiple wolves, some in rather humiliating ways (such as getting reverse timed out because he just HAD to stop and pluck pikmin after respawning with 3 seconds left on the clock...knocking him out of the bracket at a US tournament). He built up a mental block for a while and hated the character for quite some time.

I lost one set.

Jake and I are 1-1 in sets at this moment. I still have ways to go though and I'll be more polished the next time I (hopefully) show up at a monthly. After re-watching our set I realized that I've developed the old airdodge habit of 08-09 and for reasons unknown I'd pull off a Wolf flash when attempting to Dacus. It was pure lolz.

Also if we want to become legitimate threats so far as OoR is concerned then I believe WiFi is a good option to explore . It'll help one learn a variety of matchups. Yes, good people do still play WiFi (although in relatively less amounts then previous years.).

it was me, and I'll kind of elaborate on it a little.

If you play the game once in '08, never touch it for 4 and a half years, then start playing again, obviously you'll be really bad. What I meant by that is that since the game is basically all mental and very slightly technical, bad habits are very easy to form, and can be very tough to get rid of. It is also mentally exhausting to play for long periods of time. I think that when a person hits a plateau, taking a moderate break from the game can be very helpful. As long as your break isn't too terribly long, you should be able to bring back your techskill within a couple hours (or less), but more importantly you can view the game with a fresh perspective. Getting back into the game will force you to think much more about what you're doing, and in turn it'll make you realize the stuff you were doing that didn't work, and also why the stuff you were doing did work.

That's my opinion at least. I find that before I take a break I'm able to do stuff that works, but after I take a break I can actually realize why it's working and then improve on it.

I also realize that everything I've described is possible by just carefully analyzing your playstyle, but if that was really so easy everybody would be amazing at the game.

Seriously I find that every time I go a period of time without playing Brawl I remove one bad habit and pick up a new good strategy. It's like recycling!

Did someone mention Raptor Wifi and Kpop?

28617 Wifi matches and 1721:59 Play time. It's missing a year and half of Wifi from another Wii with 20k+ games. I should have 50k+ c:

Switching between mains is fun. I get to experience the joy of taking breaks and coming back with a fresh perspective without having to stop playing the game!

At least, that's the theory...

Don't say things like that! I might return to Diddy some day...

Now that I think about, I think this really does work. My Ike does seem to get better over time, even though I only use him periodically in friendlies and I only ever used him in tournament once or twice within my first couple months of playing.

I'll be ready when you do.

No, your Ike gets better because while you're neglecting to play him he's off having a social life and building friendships, so that when you finally choose him again he has that many more friends to fight for. Boosts morale, y'know?
