I think Ganon should be given tools that reward experienced Ganon players and assist in making unwinnable matchups winnable, but without the easy button attached. Make every matchup challenging and compelling. Even if it's 6-4 and not in our favor, as long as we can reliably take those 4 games with good play, I am very okay with being low/bottom.

I feel like Ganondorf says alot about who we are as people:

We play Ganondorf because we don't like the easy way out, we find a way to make do with the challenge and don't mind failing to acheive that.

We like commitment. We like taking risks even if they ruin us, but they help us learn. You wanna Side B off ledge? You better be ready to handle the problems if you miss it. But that's the thrill of Ganondorf

We like utterly crushing our opponents into a pulp. We like the satisfaction of knowing we made a fool out of someone and will stop at nothing until they are a mere shaking figure on the other side of the stage.

We like boots. Whether that be construction, style or Uggs, we walk the walk and stomp the stomp.

The Flame Choke loop in any game is probably the sexiest thing about the Gerudo king himself. It even works in Sm4sh, they can delay their roll but then Dtilt LOL. If they tech just spotdodge and jab.

Say, which matchups do you think are unwinnable ? I don't have exp against the whole cast, but even things like Link or Ivy don't seem anywhere close from unwinnable.

It sucks that you can put in the same if not more effort into a character and get little payout bc another character is statistically better. I feel we should have some compensation. Even on a "smaller scale" this effect Ganondorf players I believe. for example; my brother and I play PM quite often he is a very good player don't get me wrong but he just knows how to abuse Ganon's weaknesses since I main him. He mains Dr. Mario so he knows to apply a lot of shield pressure and that My options are limited on shield especially if he uses his dash attack and his down smash since they are low attacks I cannot grab oos and no move I have is fast enough to react with not even jab since it doesn't hit that low, or even spot dodge. And of course he can abuse the pills since Ganon can't to s*** against most projectiles.

An if I switch to a better character statistically that I'm good with (but not even close to as good with as Ganondorf) like Link or Ike, I can shut down and/or counter all the things he abuses quite easily and I end up winning with out having an 80 degree up hill battle.

Maybe it's a match up thing between Dr. Mario and Ganon. But like you said we need more tools. For example; I use Ashingda's Triforce Ganon mod and he gave Fist mode a better down smash, Upsmash, A attack (3 hits) and a better grab range and with this Ganon I actually have a chance to win against my bad match ups. If I decide to use the sword mode the range alone helps me shut down Dr. Mario's pills more easily.

In conclusion, Ganondorf needs more tools and just be better and if anyone ever used the Triforce mod they can see that once Ganon get a few more tools in his arsenal he immediately becomes a better character. I have trust in the PMDT that we will see a truley good Ganondorf once 3.5 comes around.

Just so we clear, the Ivy matchup is a really hard one, so kudos to Coast. However, I feel one Ivy plays the camping and luring game, Ganon is rendered a ragdoll. And trust, i've played the attack heavy and the setup heavy types of Ivys. The one who spaces nairs and uses razor leaf and the seed thing to wall out Ganondorf destory him. Coast ended up losing that set unfortunately, but he is indeed one of the most solid Ganons - probably one of Canadas best I'd dare to say.

Ok, how in the mother of frick does Gannon beat yoshi's egg roll? That thing is just a moving death trap with the priority of a steel geirter. Everything I do just clanks with it or get's out prioritized.

does flame choke beat it? it beats out alot of stuff that moves like that, but i don't know the hitboxes on egg roll very well. they might be high enough to hit his hand before he can grab...

I remember back in melee it wasn't hard to reverse shield grab yoshi out of it, dunno if it's the same in PM but i guess it's worth looking into?

And if all else fails, take them to a place with platforms and just chill out there until they pop out, if they're spamming it I mean. Ganondorf can kinda exploit Yoshi because of his strong moves and Yoshis double jump armor.

If yoshi started the egg roll recently you can flamechoke/wiz kick/ftilt him out of it. If he's already at full speed then you clank/get hit. I think fair still hits him out of the egg, but I'm not 100% sure. It's been a while since I played any yoshis.

Thank you!!! Now I finally understand that crap lol! I can even show you in a video of a tournament I went to recently; I Wizz kicked the Egg and we just clanked. Everything else would just outprioritize. But that does explain why sometimes I'm able to hit him out of it and sometimes I can't. Also I heard that Ganon is Yoshi's worst MU because Fair beats double jump armor.

On the Yoshi matchup, a local Yoshi in my area told me Ganon should play the MU on the ledge, since Ganon has a decent variety of options there and can easily edgeguard yoshi, who is very weak offstage/at the ledge. He's beaten Boss' Diddy in friendlies and took Junebug to last stock, so I think he's pretty good. I'm planning on recording a couple matches with him this Friday so that people without a Yoshi in the area can get an idea of what the matchup looks like.

If that story is true, it's still doesn't make sense wouldn't you want to make "your father" stronger and better? And even still don't use a pre-established character for that, and one that you didn't even create and has a lot of fans. How about you use one of your characters for that... Like maybe Hades from Kid Icarus? It's your character do what you want with it, the LoZ guys already decided how Ganon should fight... In more than one way I should add.

When it comes to Ganon, i'd take Kage's word over m2ks... just saying. though admittedly, maybe i'm biased cause I've been complaining about smash4 Ganon for what feels like an eternity now

I dont take kage's words, I remember him saying that melee ganon is better than pm ganon because he's faster, he was serious and gave that reply a lot. And smash 4 ganon isnt that bad, kage should just stick to melee.

When Kage says melee Dorf > pm Dorf, he really means with respect to the tiers of the respective games. Ganon is much higher on the melee tier list than he is the PM tier list, so he is correct in what he's saying. I wonder if pm Dorf's MU's against the top tiers of pm are harder than melee Dorf's MUs against the melee top tiers.
