I read it, and it makes sense. But you must know that Ness/Lucas are a special case.@Kirby Kong:you just didn't read what i said? i know it isn't absolute truth but hey,i just can't see Ness
being an unlockable again....
First of all, Ness has been using Lucas' moves the entire time.
Second, Lucas was supposed to replace Ness in Melee.
So perhaps Ness was never meant to be a starter in Melee, and it just so happened because of time constraints. They couldn't get Lucas in, so they just kept Ness and made him the starter (just to fill Lucas' role).
Now with the new game coming out, they've had plenty of time to think this over. And perhaps they chose to make Lucas a starter (though he's basically Ness, since he's using almost same moves... aka his own moves), but since Ness had been in all games thusfar, it doesn't make sense to cut him.
So it's very possible that they'll return him to an unlockable character, and give him a new moveset from his OWN game.
Who's to say they never planned to have both Lucas and Ness in Melee?
You might say that a character who's gone from unlockable to starter can't go back to unlockable, but what if he was never meant to be a starter in Melee in the first place... and they broke their own continuity?
**** happens when things don't get done on time. And we know something went wrong with Lucas and Ness in Melee, so it's only smart to assume this is not a normal case. So we can't apply the normal rules.
Besides, Ness has an established fanbase. He's already known among smash players. He has easy access to a new moveset, since they never used his own moves anyway. It would be really stupid to exclude Ness, and I really doubt it's going to happen.
Ness being playable is an easy way to make the players happy. It's a returning character, so you know people will accept it. That's not something you can assume with the new guys. It's always a little scare wether or not people will like it.
Ness doesn't have any of these disadvantages, and it would be the perfect opportunity to have multiple MOTHER characters in the game for a change. Namely... Lucas... AND Ness.
Now tell me, if you've read all this... you still think it's impossible?
