I'm a new falcon player and just playing melee competitively. I'm practicing my falcon but don't know if i should base my falcon on isai's mindgame playstyle or darkrain's death-combo playstyle. Thanks for your help :)

Well first of all, Darkrain's playstyle requires many more hours of tech practice.

Second of all, you should just find your own playstyle but model it after whichever works better for you.

Lol if anybody could play Isai's style then we'd have too many C.Falcons winning every tournament.
if everybody played in Isai's style, den everybody would sandbag lyk hell

edit: i've also noticed dat isai plays a pretty slow falcon compared to pro falcons such as G-reg,SS ,Mach Dash and the godly Darkrain but still he places on top rank of tourneys

ok, i dont know why nobody has said this yet......

but darkrain's style requires crazy mindgames....

you think he just pulls those crazy *** combos off cuz of tech skill?

well partially but i mean no, they're always crazy prediction and di- chasing

not taking anything away from isai tho, he's too ****ing good, although i warn you, learning from isai = inherent tanking = only losing to noobs (sandbagging johnzzz)

no matter how hard you try, your falcon wont resemble either of theirs for years
true that.
isai and darkrain are amazing falcon player because they were the first.
they both kno falcon head to toe, without them we probably wouldnt have the falcons we do now.

if u can predict whether or not to charge an fmash even before landing the dair to connect it with then u could start to be like either of them.
itl take alot of time to be as good as either of them.
rofl sorry for the inspirational speech  i got into it and i got to lazy to delete it.

if ur asking mindgames or technical...
start with technical, practicing mindgames is kinda a waste, you learn them through experience.

While it is true that having a professional inspiration or role model is useful in smash for breaking through plateaus, it's not necessarily a good idea to base your entire playstyle around someone else. The whole point of having a role model is that what you take from them adds to your repertoire of tricks, gives you a different perspective of the game (when you think about how they play), and adds more to your style and how you feel comfortable playing.

But if you have to pick one do Isai.

Knee --> Taunt is too good.

Even if Darkrain combos are the things that babies and dreams are made of.

Its about developing your own playstyle. Incorporate elements of both Darkrain and Isai into your Falcon and you'll find that things will just sort of fall into place.

Tech-chasing and edge-guarding is huge. Spaced dash-dances so you can float around hitboxes and a **** grab game is all Falcon really needs.

hahhahhaha if you choose darkrain good luck with imitating that style. you cant say darkrain isnt an intelligent player, to pull of combos like that arent from luck, its knowing what to do when.

Isai? Not fast? WTF lol

Watch his pre-sandbag videos plzkthxbye

That said, both play(ed) very intelligently, and have the "Dont get hit" aspects going on in their play. Really, you can only model yourself after them with experience added to your game. I think that you should watch some lower Falcons like Scar and G-reg, pick up some combos, and as you get those down, pick up mind-games and interesting little tricks from Isai and Darkrain later. I've been playing for a long time, and I still see new things in old videos.

Comparing it to basketball there is the NBA fundamental style, and the AND1 flashy style.

Isai i love alot because its fundamentals but Darkrain and SS styles are more flashy yet still effective. Also they require alot of practice.

My style isnt flashy more of a Jerry West than Allen Iverson, If you know what im saying lol.
