I don't see why B+ can't just replace melee at some brawl tournaments. That way we can get people who weren't fully in the community into the game. B+ isn't the new melee, but it would be a nice change for a few tourneys here and there.
And it would be great publicity. Brawl tournaments in NYC would get mad people in the B+ community to come. If I had a venue I'd host a Vbrawl/B+ tourny. It is the best strategy to get people to attend.

are there any B+ tournaments in NYC? i'm convinced i'm the best at it (unless other melee people have played it)

Problem with hybrid tournaments is that since most of the people still cling to vBrawl the attendance will probably look like this:
75-90% for vBrawl
10-25% for Brawl+
You'll get a lot of people at your tournament but the majority of them will be there for vBrawl. It's best to stay away from those types of tournaments for now, best thing to do is have Brawl+ only tournaments to build up the community. Using vBrawl as a gimmick to gather more people will actually hurt Brawl+ entrants because not that many people are willing to pay for entrance into both tournaments.
That's messed up for the people who only play Melee. While I'm no longer a fan of attending Melee tournies it wouldn't be right to try to REPLACE another game with Brawl+. For the sake of the game and so that there's no grudges between the different communities it's best that we don't attempt to replace anything with anything. I still say having Brawl+ only tournaments is the best way for it to gather players.
Still the biggest issue is the fact that there is no final version yet, there are still nightlies coming out with random stuff that people wanna test which delays everything. Eventually the game will be stable and people will stop being so hesitant to play (hopefully).

Well let me tell you about the possible tournament locations around my area.
One won't run the tournament correctly and only give out store credit.
The other one won't run unless I can promise 30 people.

Wow that came out wrong.
Obviously melee is better then everything. But the game is 7 years old and it's stale as far as new players go. I'm not talking which tournament would be more overall awesome for me, because In that case I'd prefer melee/Brawl+ tournys. I'm just saying which tournament would attract the most crowd and make the entire experience worth it financially.
Obviously the PERFECT tournament would Brawl+, melee and Vbrawl. because it would cover pretty much all the crowds.
